  1. Pigmentation, good formula (this goes with blending, texture, and lasting power) so… all of those

  2. Clio

    Pigmentation, NO FALL OUT, blendability.

  3. Terese

Pigmentation, blendability, and color uniqueness. -Terese/BeautyJock

  4. Pigmentatiob, longevity (wear) and blendability!

  5. Gigi

    1. Pigmentation
    2. Little to no fallout
    3. Not chalky

  6. Exactly the same as you! I would add though that one of my yardsticks for a brand as a whole when it comes to eyeshadows is that it makes blue ones, and does them well! Particularly if they successfully manage a matte cobalt…

  7. Pigmentation is most important and I also prefer one’s with less fallout while blending. Hate cleaning the residual under the eyes post -application :)

  8. The color (‘cos I’m really specific about that, so I struggle to find exactly the same shade I have in my head), then finish and pigmentation.

  9. No fall-out, pigmentation and blendability.

  10. Stacey

Quality of the ingredients. No crappy stuff
    Blend ability like butter
No flash, stay put during the day without primer

  11. My priorities are same too…pigmentation, texture and blendability (same order)

  12. Ellen

All of yours, Christine, but also staying power!

  13. Pigmentation, texture and no fallout.

  14. I agree with all three of your answers, Christine. The main one for me is blendability, because I don’t like to spend 15 minutes trying to blend out my shadows.

  15. patsyann

butter-y smooth, no fall out, good pigmentation

  16. Soft, pigmented, and bendable.

Pigmentation, staying power and where it is made (preferably US/UK/France/Germany, but anywhere but China).

    • Stacey

So true, where it is made. It is a given that it is not made in China for me.
You are the first person that I have read here as to not buying in China is imp to you.
I get attack here almost every time I voice this. Thank you. Thank you.
      I don’t want to be poison……

  18. connie so

    Lasting power

  19. I like my shadows pigmented, blendable and with as little fall out as possible. Especially when it comes to shimmery shadows. I hate cleaning up glitter

  20. Pigmentation,blendability and stay power.:)

  21. Melissa

Pigmentation, longevity and not much shimmer/frost

  22. True to pan pigmentation, blendability and longevity. For a high end eyeshadow, I would add originality of the shade :)

  23. Hima

pigmentation, quality (soft, smooth, and blendable), and longevity. :)

  24. Gradation of a colour, pigmentation and blendability.

  25. Now that I’ve gotten my hands on Too Faced’s Chocolate Bar, I’m tempted to say, “does it smell like chocolate?” 😉

  26. Rosana Sayuri

    lasting power
    good ingredients (hypoallergenic)

  27. B

Ok I’m scared. I said the exact same thing as you in the same order before opening the link, Christine!

  28. LU

Pigmentation, blendability, and longevity, I have 16 hour days sometimes.

  29. Nikki

    Pigmentation, longevity, blendability

  30. Alison

Ease of use, texture and longevity!

  31. Dawn

Good pigmentation – no creasing – long wear w/o color change

  32. Unique color, nice finish, value for your money!

  33. For me no fall out is on the top of the priority list, followed by pigmentation and that the colour is more or less true to pan so when I’m deciding what to wear I know what I see is what I get and not have to keep in mind which eyeshadows actually look totally different when applied.

  34. I agree with you! But I also look for color, lol. Color, Texture, Pigmentation :) Thank you for correcting my previous comment about companies owning various brands :) I was trying to generalize but also be somewhat specific but was way off. I really appreciate your fixing that! :) it would be awesome if you could list each main branch and their offspring! 😀 ( I think Shiseido owns Nars, etc. Channel is sisters with Bourjois etc.) It would help us all have a reference to save money and compare! Please and thank you Christine!

  35. blendability, longevity (creaseproof), texture

  36. Rebecca

Pigmentation, little to no fall out and blendability. Pigmentation because theres nothing more disappointing than an eyeshadow thats pretty in the pan and it doesn’t translate to the skin, no fall out because it’s a pain to clean up and blendability because I am a busy lady who needs the eyeshadow to do some of the work for me!
