The Spring Season: MAC Honeyflower Lipstick
MAC Honeyflower Lipstick ($14.00 for 0.10 oz.) is a warmed-up, peachy brown with an almost gold sheen to it. Honeyflower has a lustre finish, so it has that slightly frosty, shimmery-sheen look to it. It is surprisingly pigmented–definitely one of the better lustre finishes I’ve tried–and goes on pretty opaque. I think this is a great shade for darker skin tones and warmer skin tones in particular.
Is this the right brown lipstick for you? Would you wear it?
The Spring Season is a series of posts featuring my favorite soft beige, coral, and pink lipsticks and lipglosses — all perfect for the first blossom of spring — that runs through March 2010.

Christine, I'm super bummed that I heard this lipstick was discontinued. I wish i had been a regular reader on your blog last year and I could have picked it up then! Can u recommend any good dupes for this? I loved the lip color when you layered this w/ nymphette lipglass & did smokey eyes. i'm trying to do this look for myself. thansk for all of your hard work on this site, by the way, it's been incredibly helpful for us make up junkies :)
Do you think that color would work on thats NC42? What blushes and glosses would go with that? I never wear colors like that.Just deep pinks and berries.
This is pretty!! I think I'm gonna have to get it. I love that you do these reviews on not new products because I see things that I would have probably looked over otherwise.
Pretty, Thats a nice neutral color. Wish my lips weren't pigmented so much, so i could wear light colors.
Very pretty Christine....I have this one on my list, but somehow it keeps getting moved closer and closer to the bottom. I need to check this one out! :D
Crosswires lipstick, Lychee Luxe lipglass, Mouth-off (LE) - there's no great permanent coral/orange liner.
I love the colour, but I don't like the finish. I find that lip sticks (and glosses) with too much frost makes my lips look horribly unattractive. I tend to look best in shades that have more orange or coral to them, and this looks like it might suit my skin tone nicely. Would you (or other readers!) have any recommendations for similar shades with more of a cream or subtle shimmer finish? Around the same price range or lower if possible!
That's a colour I normally wouldn't go for, but it looks so nice. Ever since I bought MAC's Ever Hip lipstick, I'm really starting to feel these oranges and corals.
[taps shoulder] Psst... You typed "Honeylove" when I think you meant to type "Honeyflower." It's in the second line of the description. Sorry! [runs away!]
You're welcome! :) I get embarrassed about correcting things (it's like, the ONLY time I'm shy! Hah).
Hey! Quick question: how do you prep your lips for when there is no lip liner being used? I mean, for all my lipsticks (which is like a grand total of five or so) I always have a matching lip liner that makes the lipstick look puuurfect. So what do you do?
I'm colorblind, so I'm never quite sure about what colors work for me. The shade I'm seeing, though, looks pretty.
