Guerlain Corail Passion Lipstick
The Spring Season: Guerlain Corail Passion Lipstick
Guerlain Corail Passion (#559) KissKiss Lipstick ($30.00) is a soft orange-based coral with a slight frost sheen. It applies easily, goes on semi-opaque, and has a glossy sheen in its finish. It’s not quite shimmery yet it definitely has a frost edge to it (but I don’t think it’s too frosty, like frosts sometimes are). It’s not my perfect coral (Guerlain’s Gems is the closest so far!), but I like the way it’s distinctly coral but not too bright–many truer corals also tend to be bolder, brighter.
I’m not often a fan of orange-based shades on me, whether they’re red or coral or what-have-you, but this is soft enough of an orange hue that it doesn’t bother me as it usually does! The texture is soft and smooth, very easy to work with, and I get about four to five hours of wear from KissKiss lipsticks. They are heavily scented, so if you prefer soft scents, scent-free, or more vanilla-esque scents, you may want to take a sniff before you buy a Guerlain lipstick.
Is this the perfect glossy shade for you? Would you wear it?
The Spring Season is a series of posts featuring my favorite soft beige, coral, and pink lipsticks and lipglosses — all perfect for the first blossom of spring — that runs through March 2010.

I have this, and the color is amazing, it compliments my medium skin w/ very deep yellow undertone. I'm a sucker for bright coral lippies and almost always lean towards oranges, peach, very pale nude and an occasional red. And this is one of my favorite Guerlain lippies.
There's also a lipgloss version of this, right? I wonder what it's like. Have you tried it? I think it's called "GUERLAIN KISSKISS Stick Lip Gloss #902 Corail Des Mers". :)
Meh, orange-based coral-type shades are definitely not for me. I'm too pale and pinky for these to look nice on me. I wish I could pull them off though!
But orange-based shades look the best on you Christine because your skin is very warm in tone. At least the orangey-pinks look good on you.
very pretty! but how come this is priced a little lower than the $45 guerlain lipsticks? is there a big difference in the formulas?
Not all Guerlain lipsticks are $45 -- only the Rouge G line is -- the rest are $30ish :) Rouge Gs are a little smoother, can often be richer in color/more opaque, and not quite as heavily scented -- plus they come in very luxe packaging (IMO, you pay more for the packaging than the formula differences).
Wow, this shade is so pretty! Plus, the packaging is so nice n fancy. I have yet to add a coral-y lipstick to my collection. I need to check it out next time I'm at Nordstom : )
Christine, Is there ANY lipstick that looks bad on you?! You are so lucky to have those perfectly shaped lips!!!! you should be a professional lip model.... Like you have time for a third job! Loving this spring lip series.... Keep 'em coming!
