The Scarlet Season: Chanel Jupiter Glossimer

Chanel Jupiter Glossimer ($27.00) was a limited edition shade of orange-y red gloss with multicolored sparkle. I was happy to see it is still available through Bloomingdales, if this is your kind of red–you may even find your local Chanel counter still has some stock leftover from earlier this year as well. Glossimers have a very special shimmer about them; they’re smoother and finer than MAC’s Dazzleglass and just as dazzling. This is one of my preferred shades of Glossimers, just because it’s pigmented and super shimmery without being sticky or gritty. For a deeper, more opaque look, I’d recommend wearing a red or berry lipstick underneath.

What about you? Would you wear this red?

The Scarlet Season is a series of posts showcasing and featuring my favorite shades of red lips–from glosses to lipsticks that runs through December 2009. You can sure expect to see a lot of red this holiday season!

Just $7? Is it a typo or was it one sale? Looks great!

I have this one and really love it, such a pretty shade of red. :) Another lovely red shade is Myriade, bit pinker than this one, but equally pretty.

I love this so much. It was actually the first red lippie I ever bought, but I just HAD to have it when I saw your swatches. Luckily it even looked good on me, ha ha. :)

I’m new to your site and so far I’m loving what you do so keep it up! But for your scarlet season series, I’m surprised that there is no mention of possibly one of the most famous red shades since the 1950’s, Revlon’s Cherries in the Snow. That’s my favorite red, along with NYX’s round lipstick in Snow White.

      Hi Ruby!

I’ve actually never heard of either of those two… LOL!

You have the price at seven dollars…That can’t possibly be right lol.

It’s pretty but it’s more orangey to me than red.

I have this glossimer and I adore it. I adore chanel glossimers in general. They are so pigmented and smooth. Much better than dazzleglass :).

totally agree. Although I still get some dazzles, glossimers take care of having to put the lipstick on and then the dazzle. So basically, u break even buying chanel glossimer.
