Maybelline Color Sensational Vivid Hot Lacquer Lip Gloss
Maybelline Color Sensational Vivid Hot Lacquer Lip Gloss ($7.99 for 0.17 fl. oz.) is a new gloss formula that released in the last couple of weeks. The formula is supposed to have “full coverage” that won’t “feather or migrate” paired with a “high-impact glossy finish.”
The formula was light-medium in thickness–by no means a thin, featherweight gloss but not shy of being totally goopy or heavy-feeling–with moderate tackiness. I found that it initially went on feeling like a thicker, creamy gloss with a lot of slip, but it developed into more of a gel-like consistency that adhered better and did not slide around after 20 to 30 seconds. I did not experience feathering or migration with any shades tested so far (and I went for the deeper shades first!). The wear ranged from four to six hours with a non-drying to lightly hydrating effect. The formula had a subtle, sweet scent but did not taste soapy or linger as long as I have experienced with Maybelline lip products in the past.
Who these are best for: Someone who likes more opaque gloss, doesn’t mind some tackiness or a thicker gloss.
