well… i guess a lot of MAC stuff i got could be on the “best purchase” list.
but a few weeks back, i found a kabuki brush that’s really soft and fluffy – i had to pay HKD$69. that’s about USD$8.8~ haha that’s probably my best purchase so far… :)

      Hi Viv,

I’m so glad you got such an awesome deal on a kabuki brush! The kabuki is one of my favorite brushes ever.

Paula’s Choice’s 8% AHA Gel which turned my dry (sometimes flaky) and sensitive (39 years old) skin into beautiful smooth and flawless skin instantly and makes my foundation (Diorskin Pure Light) apply like a dream. Simply love it!!

      Hi Betts,

You make me desperately want to try this, lol!

UDPP because before this, my eyeshadow would crease within half and hour! Other than that, the 182 brush is pretty amazing.

      Hi Winnie,

I was talking to a MA the other day, and I think the 182 brush changed my life, LOL.

I can’t chose, but these are my holy grail products – mostly mac items (lol i’m not surprised I LOVE mac)
studio fix concealer, select tint NC40 (enough cover for me, i’m only 15 :D), and heatherette BP in alpha girl.

also i do love my lancome virtuose mascara and my pout silk protein clear lash treatment.

      Tuesday, July 15, 2008

      Hi Tanya,

Nice! I just got a sample of Select Tint, and it worked well for today :) Will have to keep trying it to see if I love it, though!

What does that mascara do best?

    1. MAC SFF
    2. MAC concealers
    3. MAC 187 Brush
    4. UDPP
    5. Lashes from this korean brand but I don’t know wat. Makes mascara a thing of the past, and my eyes POP.

    • Christine

      Tuesday, July 15, 2008

      Hi Sophia!

Seems like we have a lot of SFF fans :D What do you like to use the 187 for?

    • Christine

      Tuesday, July 15, 2008

      Hi Kelly,

I see you’re an Orgasm fan! I think I might have to try it again, because I hated it the first time around!

  10. marquita

    Tuesday, July 15, 2008

UDPP was the best for me. before I bought it My eyeshadow would not last until lunch and it would look greasy and crease. After I finally decided to get some from sephora and used it the first time…i fell in love with it. I will not go without this.

    • Christine

      Tuesday, July 15, 2008

      Hi Marquita,

I’m so glad you discovered UDPP then! I bet your life totally changed!

MAC lightscapade MSF. Pure love for pale skin. Also, all of the MAC brushes I’ve picked up for waaaaaaay less than retail.

    • Christine

      Tuesday, July 15, 2008

      Hi Sanayhs,

I remember that being so pretty, but I never used it, so I gave it away, lol!

    estee lauder double wear foundation
MAC copperplate eyeshadow and of course all my other MAC stuff ..i cant live without any of it haha

    • Calico

      Tuesday, July 15, 2008

This is still also my favourite foundation. Spend a fortune trying to find equivalent in mac, but always come back to estee lauder double wear. :)

    • Christine

      Tuesday, July 15, 2008

      Hi Claudine,

Do you feel like Double Wear is a heavy foundation at all?

  14. Liz

    Tuesday, July 15, 2008

    Studio Fix foundadtion and UDPP
Also, Clinique’s line of skin care for oily skin has been a life saver. Before I started using it I had the complexion of a 13 year old (and NOT in a good way) and I’m 30! It has totally evened out my skin.

    • Christine

      Tuesday, July 15, 2008

      Hi Liz,

I’m so glad Clinique has made your skin fab :D

  16. Jackie

I would have to say its a toss up between UDPP and MAC 187 brush.

    • Christine

      Tuesday, July 15, 2008

      Hi Jackie,

What do you like to use your 187 for?

  17. DaniMae

    Tuesday, July 15, 2008

UDPP – I can’t to my make up without it. It makes my shadows pop, and stay vibrant all day long, and it makes my brows stay too.

MAC Fix+ – I’m so glad I got swept up by the hype. I love this product. It puts that finishing touch on my face after application is all done. It makes my skin look glowy and smooth.

MAC Prep+Prime Lash – It lengthens and thickens my lashes so well and it doesn’t look messy. I don’t have to wear falsies and I can still get a glamorous look!

MAC Big Baby plush glass – My staple. It’s a lovely pinky nude color on me, and every girl needs her “go to” gloss.

    • Christine

      Tuesday, July 15, 2008

      Hi DaniMae,

Seems like UDPP is a lot of people’s “best ever” pick!

      • valentina

        Wednesday, July 16, 2008

Hi! I wear it as everyday scent in autumn/winter. It makes me feel sexy ;-)
I use Flowerbomb Viktor & Rolf and Coco Mademoiselle as well ;-)

    Hyper Real foundation by MAC.

Also, that whole Antiquitease and tie in holiday collection from last year. I bought EVERYTHING. It cost a small fortune, but in my opinion it was the best collection like EVER.

    • Christine

      Tuesday, July 15, 2008

      Hi Mary,

I’m glad you loved Antiqituease so much :D What were your absolute favorites from it?

  22. Lydia

    Tuesday, July 15, 2008

It’s really weird because I’ve never worn anything from Mary Kay before because I always thought it was an old lady brand but I have this one eyeshadow quad from them and I absolutely love it!

    • Christine

      Tuesday, July 15, 2008

      Hi Lydia,

How funny that the quad turns out to be one of your best purchases!

Most MAC products! Among MAC stuff: Studio fix powder (the best ever multitasking foundation/concealer, all the brushes (so soft and versatile), the eyebrow “wax stick” (keeps brows in place and add a touch of color to cover the “bald spots”. Most higher end makeups from designers and such I have tried and regretted it! They cost way too much (more than MAC) and usually the payoff is nonexistent. Pigmentation is a big one for me because I like vibrant and lasting colors. I always get sucked in for big names limited edition special packaging pretty to look at products that end up sitting in my makeup bag collecting dust… I have promised myself to stick to MAC because this is the only line that I can be sure that I will like and use most of their products.

    • Christine

      Tuesday, July 15, 2008

Sounds like you are a definite MAC fan :D

  24. Erin

    Tuesday, July 15, 2008

Surprisingly, it’s not a MAC product. Bobbi Brown Pink Shimmerbrick was my BEST purchase ever, because it helped me realize how absolutely amazing SBs are! I never, ever leave the house without one on.

    • Christine

      Tuesday, July 15, 2008

      Hi Erin,

Nice! It isn’t too frosty for you?

      • Erin

        Tuesday, July 15, 2008

Not at all! Blended together, they seem to give off a really nice glow. When I was pregnant, people ALWAYS commented on my glowing skin. I totally wasn’t glowing, it was the shimmerbrick!;)

        • Christine

          Thursday, July 17, 2008

          Hi Erin,

LOL! I’m sure pregnancy had a lil’ something to do with it :)

I think I had one shimmerbrick, but I gave it away because it didn’t give me much pay off.

MAC Bare Canvas paint. I bought it a long time ago and it’s still one of my go-to bases for my eyeshadows.

    • Christine

      Tuesday, July 15, 2008

Oh, very nice! It’s a great base indeed :D

  26. Pquanda

    Tuesday, July 15, 2008

    Fix + – Amazing
UDPP – Live in a sauna, can’t live without
GOOD brushes – Some are MAC, some Smashbox
SHU UEMURA LASH CURLER – bought that one over 6 times
    SHU cleansing oil
    Px Custom Blend
Imju Fiberwig and Clinique Lashpower mascaras

    • Christine

      Tuesday, July 15, 2008

      Hi Pquanda,

What do you like to use Fix+ for? I have it, but I never use it!!

I love the Shu curler, too!

      • Pquanda

        Wednesday, July 16, 2008

        Hey Christine!
I put a lot of layers on my face – foundation, a blush, a highight, a contour, and a setting powder. I use Fix+ to meld all those together and make sure I don’t have a powdery finish. I totally STOLE makeupgeek’s (oh my god, I love her, her videos = amazing) idea of taking fix+, spraying it on 187 or 188, and then stippling it over everything once I’m done.

I have the tendency to get dry skin so if I’m inside and the air conditioning or other environment is dryin gme out, I use it again.

At night I take a cotton pad, mist it, and use fix as a toner. Amazing.

          Thursday, July 17, 2008

          Hi Pquanda,

I spritz my 187 or 188 with water (rather than Fix+) myself, haha! That’s my only beauty trick, I think.

          Thanks for the tips!

MAC cremeblush – so,so easy to apply :)
Benefit Browzings – HG brow powder
Benefit BadGal Lash mascara – HG mascara
Virgin Vie lipstick (pretty much the same as a slimshine) in Peachy Kiss

    • Chica

      Tuesday, July 15, 2008

Argh, how could I forget – at the top of that list should be UDPP!

Very nice! Did you like the Dior collection a lot?

  32. Valerie

    Wednesday, July 16, 2008

I would say it would have to be the 181(I don’t have the 182 yet), my Studio Fix powder and Fix+ It’s love!

Those are some awesome picks, Valerie!

My Paint Pot Painterly, cause my eye shadow last much longer compared to the eye insurance by Too Faced. And the color matches my skin perfectly.

    • Christine

      Thursday, July 17, 2008

      Hi Nicole,

Nice :) I’m so glad it works well for you! Soft Ochre is my fave paint pot.

  34. Charlene

    Wednesday, July 16, 2008

Personally I love Too Faced eyeshadow insurance. It’s in a squeezable tube thats 10x more convenient that UDPP because you have to scoop or cut open that bottle to get it all out. I was torn between the two but I choose the one I felt was easier to use and I’ve never been happier.

I love the paint pots but I found by the end of the day it would crease like crazy but.. I think I might try eyeshadow insurance and then a paint pot and see if it could withstand the hot weather.

I also love Mac’s concealer, studio mist foundation, Fix +, Teddy Kohl Eyeliner.

AND coastal scents Duo Fiber Stippling Brush. I was about the shell on the Mac’s 187 but I don’t have the budget for it.. so I got that one instead for about 7.95 and I mean.. you can’t go wrong with that price. I haven’t tried it much for my liquid foundation but for powder it’s AMAZING.

      Hi Charlene,

Sounds like you’ve made a lot of great purchases :)

  35. Mandy

    Thursday, July 17, 2008

My best purchase thus far has been my Stila Tinted Moisturizer (I cannot believe I even bothered wearing foundation in the summer before this product!) and Fyrinnae’s rice powder primer — a MUST-HAVE for mineral makeup wearers!

Aside from those two items, I am absolutely in love with my Too Faced Lash Injection mascara and my Bare Study paint pot. :D

    • Christine

      Thursday, July 17, 2008

      Hi Mandy,

Have you tried other tinted moisturizers before Stila’s? I’m on the hunt for a good tinted/lightweight foundation!
