I am VERY gentle to my face. I only wash once a day, at night to remove makeup, and then I rinse with lukewarm water in the water. I wash with very gentle soap as well. It has cut down my pimples incredibly. I also moisturize a lot, twice a day, but it took me forever to find one that didn't make me break out.

I get hormonal breakouts by my chin area and honestly, switching cleansers made a big difference for me. I have really really dry skin that still breaks out. It sucks because a lot of the anti blemish stuff is made for people with oily or combo skin. I now wash my face with Johnson's Head to Toe Baby Wash. Then gentler, the better. Tea tree oil for pimples helps a lot too.

I hope this helps someone. I've had cystic acne for years and only recently got on Accutane for it. However, my body is extremely responsive to it meaning I'm only taking one or two of the lowest dose a week. But the biggest thing I've found to help is the Clinique liquid soap for oily skin and the #3 toner. Despite what some say, I've read that Clinique's toners do have alcohol, but it's a different quality of product so that it helps deliver product to your skin and then dissolves (i.e. not harming your skin). Either way, I've had only a couple of cysts since I started using it. I've never had results like this before!

I had only the occasional pimple all through my teens and into my 20s, but now in my late 20s I have acne. It coincided with being taken off estrogen birth control. I have a high risk of heart attack due to family history and migraines, and taking bc with estrogen in it is too risky for me. So now I have to deal with all the PMS joy that was gone for so long because I'm on progesterone only bc (the mini pill).

I use BareMinerals Blemish Therapy as a spot treatment, cleanse twice a day once with Cetaphil (a.m) and again with Neutrogena Mask/Cleanser (p.m.), and use Neutrogena Stress Control 3 in 1 as needed. I get chin zits here and there, I haven't really found anything that's worked wonders, though my current rotation seems to be doing well.
