I must say.. classic smokey eyes and nude lips! At least that’s my choice every time and I get a lot of compliments on it.
I completely agree!
Well, it really depends on the event…usually when I wear black I will want to do a really bright pop of color on my eyes, but if I am going to an important or formal event (usually required by a little black dress!) then I usually do some variation of a black and/or silver smokey eye and a nude or pale pink lip.
I wear LBD’s all the time — cause i like black and i hate dressing up!! I usually go with a wash of light color over the lid, with black cat-eye liner, and brighter lips.
IMO the classic look (eyeliner, loads of mascara, red lips) works best, depending on the occasion you’re going too. If it’s something special, you can wear this classic look, but if you’re just going to work or something, i’m with Monica (the classic smokey eyes and nude lips).

No, but as far as makeup goes, I’m a fan of the smokey or cat eye and nude lips.
Black eyeliner and red lips. Nuff said!
That’s a hard question, exactly because the LBD is so versatile! Even if it was the same dress, I couldn’t wear the same make up, say, for a work party and for a fun wedding. But usually I do like to put some color to break the black. A bright jewel tone all over the lid with a discreet (but not totaly nude) lip color looks perfect in my opinion.
I’ll go for eyeliner (winged) and/or red lipstick without heavy blush or bronzer, just some highlight for nice glowy look.
2nd
Definitely red lipstick and neutral eyes.
