Definitely!! I have very oily skin which I always thought was a good thing since people say I look much younger than I actually am. But with that comes slippery makeup, especially eyeshadow. I would put my makeup on in the morning and by the time I get to work everything is stuck in my crease and looks like a big mess. A friend recommended UDPP and it has changed EVERYTHING!!! Now I can wear my makeup to work and still look all put together by the end of the day. YAY!!

Aww!! I am so happy UDPP has done that for you, Cat!

Does a GHD count as a beauty product? It changed my life. I always say it, but its true. Literally everything changed, and met my wonderful sexy boyfriend! LOL! And that and the new found confidence i attribute to gr8 hair! Ha ha…

Totally counts, Calico! :D

Urban Decay 24/7 eyeliner in Zero (black). I never had such sexy eyes before this product.

I love the 24/7 liners!

Mavala Double-Lash. I have been applying this to my previously sparse lashes every night for about 2 months now and they are so full and long and luscious. I had a visible naked spot in between some of them which had been bothering me for weeks, which is now long gone! Amazing! I haven’t lost more than probably 6-7 lashes as well during the time I’ve been using it. I also use it on my eyebrows and I can totally see a difference there too, I don’t have to fill them in as much now. This is magic I tell you!

HANDS DOWN eye primers, specifically Urban Decay Primer Potion and Too Faced Shadow Insurance. I have extremely oily skin and oily lids to boot. Without primers, I would never be able to put on any eye make-up whatsoever! Think of how much I’d be missing out on!

Which one do you prefer, K? UDPP or Too Faced’s?

It’s so hard to say! UDPP is slightly thicker in texture so it sinks into the eyelid faster, which is great because I’m impatient. However, this means that eyeshadows are more difficult to apply because the eyelid is “sticky”. Too Faced’s primer is silkier, but there is some drying time needed. Eyeshadows glide on easier.

Performance-wise, they’re equal!

One thing about Too Faced’s packaging is that while it makes it much easier to control how much product you’re using (it’s a squeezable plastic tube with a point-tip similar to MAC’s Select Cover-Up), the plastic tube doesn’t stay “squished” in the way that a tube of toothpaste does. Which means that once I’ve used up most of the tube, I’ll constantly be having to squeeze from one end of the tube to the tip every single time I use it.

Wow, Too Faced really has a hit on their hands!

I’m with you guys, primers make the difference. Especially when your lid color absorbs whatever color you put on it without.

Christine

Wednesday, August 20, 2008

So true, primers are vital!

It has to be concealer for me. My dark eye circles are legendary and if not for concealer, I doubt I will ever want to step out of the house and into broad daylight.

Christine

What concealer does the best job?

I’ve used quite a few brands like MAC (of course!), Covermark, Anna Sui, Jill Stuart, Loreal etc.

MAC is great but its quite disgusting to have to dip my finger into the pot. If I use a brush, the concealer isn’t warmed and it won’t apply smoothly. At the moment its Anna Sui’s stick concealer that is saving my day since the converage is relatively ok and its not so gross.

I agree, I’m not a finger-in-the-pot kinda gal either!

It’s foundation for me, especially when I discovered HG ones like MAC SFF and MUFE F&B. It indeed makes a lot of difference to have my red spots, blotches covered and have a nice canvas to apply makeup. Confidence in an instant!

Christine

I agree, HG foundations can change your life!

Have to add to the eyeshadow primer clan :) UDPP - before i knew primers existed I used to get really annoyed with shadows because they creased almost immediately so I stopped using them. Then I tried UDPP :D Woot! I have more eyeshadow than anything else now

Christine

Wednesday, August 20, 2008

Haha, I’m so glad UDPP changed your life ;D

I love the UDPP too but for me it has to be Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser. My skin gets soo dry, and I have excema, and this is the only cleanser I have tried that does not irritate my skin. If this product ever goes off the market I will probably cry!

Christine

Wednesday, August 20, 2008

I’m so glad to hear that this cleanser works so well for you! I doubt it’s ever going anywhere, it’s a huge favorite.

Its a close tie between foundation (SFF) and concealer (Select Tint) for me…

…but since my skin is otherwise not too bad, I think Ill choose concealer as the one product that has really, really changed my life. Its not like I have really bad dark circles, my issue is that the skin underneath my eyes is so thin that the blue-green veins show and make me look really pale and sick!

Select Tint is my saviour…it makes the BIGGEST difference in my appearance!

Christine

Wednesday, August 20, 2008

I adore SFF! LOL, well, the liquid one.

I have to try Select Tint now!

bourjois nail polishes are doing a great job for me, too! it stays on nails at least for 5 days perfectly!
and my bourjois blush also changed my life: with it, my face have become more cute as it has some shimmers
aaaaaaand the gicenchy parad’eyes mascara, it’s ultra black and it’s the only mascara which can make my lashes curly

Christine

Monday, August 25, 2008

I’ve never tried Bourjois blush before, but now I’m curious!

Hmmm I guess I have to add Lush’s Herbalism cleanser. It’s a lifesaver. Got rid of my annoying adult acne.

Urban Decay loose powder foundation! I had previously been using a Vichy liquid foundation, which wasn’t so great since my skin is a bit on the oily side. Howver, with the UD powder, I stay ‘matte’ for much longer! I just love that it’s cruelty-free, too. :)

Christine

Monday, August 25, 2008

I haven’t heard much about UD’s foundation, Peggy! It’s nice to hear it works so well for you :)

Hmm…it’s a tie between Lush and MAC. These two product lines changed my life.
My skin used to be very red, especially on my nose and my entire cheek from cheekbone to jawline…after using the Lush skincare products, specifically Aqua Marina cleanser, Breath of Fresh Air toner and Celestial moisturizer, my skin improved sooo much. Even after one use!
As for MAC, I’ve been lusting after their shadows for a couple years but we do not have a store within 5.5 hours driving distance…so when my mom went to Minneapolis, I sent her with a list. Now I have a full 15-palette…after only 1 visit to the store! I’ve expanded my colour range past frosted pink and frosted lilac Covergirl shadows, haha.

Christine

I will have to tell my sister about your LUSH skincare routine! Her cheeks are pretty red.

I’d have to say concealer (I use MAC’s), eyeliner and mascara, and UDPP!

Christine

Which MAC concealer do you use, Tina?

What a fabulous question! Me, I’m going with palettes. I got my first at age 13, and having 52 eyeshadows and 15 lipsticks at my disposal was the best way to learn how to (and how not to) makeup my face!

Christine

Monday, August 25, 2008

Oh, wow! 52 eyeshadows is a ton for a palette!

Mac Paint pots!! I didn’t use primers under my eyeshadow before and found that they would sometimes crease or that the colour would fade. I really love the paint pots, as my eyeshadow goes on so smoothly now and it really helps hold the colour in place all day. Love the way they are so versatile as well - can use them on their own or under eyeshadow.

So glad you found love with the paint pots, Saira!
