Do you ever just sit down and play with your makeup? Do you only use it for going out or as part of your morning routine?
I definitely play with it from time to time, just having fun for no other reason than that.

I play with my makeup at night when I am home alone. I think it’s the best way to try out new colors. If it doesn’t work, no one is there to see the faux pas!
Just now, I am bored waiting for my boyfriend to call (he’s in the doghouse on this one…), so I started to play around with my lip products and made an awesome lip color. Benefit Lane Change lipstick + Trucco Berry Bazaar gloss + Trucco Drenched gloss + Prescriptives Venus gloss + Trucco Movie Star gloss = mauve plum copper glittery goodness!
My Fafi lipsticks still didn’t arrive and my boyfriend didn’t call, so I was trying to console myself with something possibly cooler than High Top. (I won that shirt though – go me! I have the stockings to match and pink shoes. Oh, I’ll be a sight!)

Ha, so very true, Charlotte! I used to play and do a lot of BOLD combos – rarely did I go neutrals for play time.

i play with make up every time when i get some new products and they just lay on the desk in front of me looking so beautiful in boxes lol or sometimes when im just in mood to do make up even if i dont plan going out im just in creative mood and need to express myself :)

If I’m cleaning things out, I’ll mess around a little bit. I wish I could do it more, but I just don’t have the time because I have a little 16-month-old running around and I’m working full-time.
My sis-in-law are planning a day when she can come over with her NARS stuff and we can play. I’m really looking forward to that b/c we just discovered that we are both obsessed with makeup!

Oh yes, almost every day! It’s just so fun to go crazy and do looks I normally wouldn’t do, since I really don’t like wearing too much makeup during the day, and I don’t really party alot anymore =)

Yes! When I get bored, I organize my makeup and play with new color combinations. Because I’m alone, I’ll go for the most bright ones, usually different on each eye :)

Yes, I do!

I stay with my mom about every other weekend. Whenever I’m over there I seem to have a lot of free time and I definitely use that to play with my make-up. It’s fun and I always take pics, just to remind myself what I can do with what I have.

One big, emphatic YES to answer this question. Almost every chance I get, I play with my makeup. I like to experiment with different looks, especially when I buy new products (which is almost every week at times).
For example, I just bought the Sock Hop Lipglass from the MAC Heatherette Collection, and I experimented with it: I mixed it with other glosses and tints that I had bought already.
I tend to do such things with lip colors more so than with other products (although it’s fun to make your own shadow colors too).

I play with mine ALL the time. I usually do bright OTT looks because my everyday look is so “tame”. And this past weekend, me and my friends got together and had a little “girls night”. I did all their makeup, took pics, had some cocktails….BIG FUN!

Well, I just got the Pink Pearl pigment and I’m trying to fugure out how to work with that. I’m in LOVE with it!! Other than that, I love experimenting with different smoky looks. I wonder if I can do a smokey look using the pigment….hmmmm….Off to you tutorial posts! LOL

Absolutely! School’s taken up so much of my time and I find myself reaching for quick neutral colors during the day. Then I go home and study for hours on end. When I decide to take breaks.. I play with my makeup and there are no limits to the colors I can use. It’s an awesome stress reliever. Makeup is my yoga :]

Personally, when I buy new makeup, I like to take it home and have a play around with it, and experiment with new looks that will suit work and play. And I love big’n'bashy colours for night-time, but sometimes I have to take the vibe to work! :-)

I leave myself enough time when I’m getting ready to go out somewhere (work, public, etc :P) that I can play with my look then. If I’m just hanging out at home, I like to leave my face bare so it can breathe and be happy! Also, I feel sort of like I’m wasting it if I just play with it all the time, and then I get sad. Especially foundation! I use the studio stick and that isn’t cheap and goes fast… sigh. Stupid liquids being too dark for me! *shakes her fist at MAC’s liquid foundations for not being pale enough*

That would bring me ever so much joy. I can’t help the fact that I’m pale! For me, NW15 in one of MAC’s liquid foundations is about as tan as I ever get, regardless of how much sun I get. Yes, that’s right. NW15 TAN. Ahahahaha…

Actually, I very rarely wear makeup during the day (I prefer to sleep in), but when I go out at night I glam it up. So I usually do find some time during the evening to play around with it just to work out looks I might want to try next time I’m out at night.
