Yes, and always have been. Most ppl i know see it as some compensatory issue, which makes me laugh inside, because its a hobby/ artform for me. I like to express myself through m/u the way others do with their clothes or hair, no different, imo.
I totally agree with u! Most ppl say to me ‘u don’t need makeup’…sure I don’t NEED it at all…but I WANT it! For me it’s an expression rather than necessity!

Compaired to my friends (except 2 friends who are professionals) I have the largest stash. When my friends want to tr a new look or nails, they come to me to try it out, because I probably have somewhere!

That’s a big YES. My girlfriends all wear makeup (for the most part), but none of them are really into it like I am! I don’t think they know about my obsession either though, so I guess it’s possible lol. My mom and my boyfriend’s mom wear makeup too, but again, it’s not a passion for them.
A couple months ago I had dinner with a bunch of good, old friends that I still keep in touch with, and one of them was like “I randomly walked into MAC and they had these Hello Kitty lipglosses” as she pulled it out of her purse. I definitely squealed out loud! But inside I was laughing to myself, because as a makeup fanatic I always know about the latest MAC collections (thanks to Temptalia and Specktra!).

Oh yea, I am definately the biggest Beauty Junkie, but I do have one other friend who is into it as much as I am. We read your blog several times a day, watch youtube videos together, shop the newest products and our biggest joys are anything with beauty and our regimen…But, that is one friend out of many and usually I rub off on my others because I have such a huge stash!!! ahh the love of beauty

same here….majority of my friends and family memebers (cousins) are not into make up…Infact they just own like 2 lipsticks and some skin care basics…they find it insane on my part spending 32$ for a NARS e/s duo…:)
I am the “worst” out of my friends! Only 1 friend and my husband know about my obsession… I am 34 and if my parents knew, I swear I would be grounded!
Funny you say that, I’m 31 & still having to listen to my mom say that i am wasting money on stuff that all looks the same.
I’m 33 and never told my mum how much make up I have, but she’s coming over to stay for a week and I’m already anxious about what she’ll say when she sees my stash (or some of it, as most are hidden is drawers and boxes). She’s always telling my 40-year-old sister off for buying too much make up (and she has nowhere near as much as i do, and less expensive stuff as well).
funny coincidence–my mum (who has really only ever worn black eyeliner her whole life) was just visiting with me for a couple of weeks–i haven’t spent that much time with her in years and i was really worried what she would say about all the cosmetics i have…(esp since my fiance thinks i’m completely mad)…
…but she didn’t!
she just commented one time when she saw i was looking at temptalia and watching risa on youtube –”so that’s how you young people all know how to do perfect makeup!”

Yes, i am the biggest addict out of my friends & family which can be difficult at times cause there is noone around me who gets what this passion is all about. Hence, why i love beauty blogs. It’s a place where i fit right in & can share/learn with all other addicts

Yes, I am the weird one with so much makeup amongst my friend. Sometimes I have to remind myself not to talk about makeups so much, because perhaps my friends find it really boring hearing about it all the time, but just putting up with it, to be polite
I’m definitely the make-up addict amongst my friends! My friends do wear make-up but they’re not really into it the way I am. My love of make-up does come in useful for my friends, though, as they sometimes ask me for advice about products or suggestions for when they want to buy something new but aren’t sure what to get.

I know how you feel! I dont get along with women either.. My own sister is a complete stranger when it comes to this passion.. My boyfriend is the sweetest.. he is soo caring and understanding about this..he has temptalia bookmarked and he checks out collections faster than I can.. my mom likes my makeup and what I do but I do feel alone at times not having a girlfriend to share all that with!!

Oh definitely yes. A big big yes. Whenever I go shopping with my close friends I always drop by at a MAC counter and I never cease to surprise them with the vast (compared to what they know) knowledge I have about products, collections, etc, etc.

I can only speak for myself, but it’s not for vanity that I’m obsessed with makeup. It’s a hobby/art form – I don’t wear it cause I NEED to, but cause I enjoy playing with it and WANT to.

Without hesitation, YES! They talk about me for buying so much makeup, but yet when they need help, who do they call? ME. And when I clean out my stash (maybe 2x a year), I GIVE them a bunch of stuff. However, I have at least gotten one of my friends liking Sephora.

YES, by far!!! Like some have already mentioned, I wish I had at least one other friend who was as obsessive as I am about makeup. I have to know all the MAC latest lines (and I do, thanks to Temptalia)!! I see it as an artform. It truly is my biggest passion in life and sometimes I feel that others don’t understand me. However, I do have plentyyyy of friends who always want makeovers so that always fuels my passion even more.

Yes, I am most definitely the most addicted! Lately I’ve been pulling my daughter in, experimenting on her. Of course, everything seems to look better on her than on me because she has the beautiful flawless skin and I have to spend more time perfecting mine. Then I have my mother telling me I wear too much on my eyes when I think I look good then I convince myself that it’s because she’s just not used to it and doesn’t really understand it, oh well that’s what Temptalia is for, I can get on here and everyone understands it!!
