Tarte Dollface Amazonian 12-Hour Clay Blush
Tarte Dollface Amazonian 12-Hour Clay Blush

Tarte Dollface Amazonian 12-Hour Clay Blush ($25.00 for 0.20 oz.) is described as a “light pink.” It’s a brightened light pink with blue undertones and a natural sheen. The hue reminded me of recently reviewed Bobbi Brown Nude Pink, which has more of amatte finish. NYX English Rose offers a barely-more-affordable dupe with a touch less brightness. Urban Decay Quickie is similar but in cream form. MAC So Sweet, So Easy is lighter. MAC Well-Dressed seems like it would be lighter, not quite as bright.

The texture of Tarte’s Amazonian blushes is so, so soft, though it tends to kick up excess powder, so use a lighthand and look at the pan before you over-swirl!  It’s very finely-milled, which allows for superb blending and naturalness in the finish.  Dollface wore for just over eight hours, and there was certainly some hanging around after ten hours, it was noticeably faded.

I wish Tarte wasn't so specific about their 12-hour claim! It's a really nice formula overall, with the exception of the wear, which I've yet to achieve a full 10 hours of, let alone 12. This is an excellent shade for an everyday blusher for cooler complexions.

it looks so beautiful, I have many tarte amazonian clay blush, ( tipsy, blissful, adored, exposed, flush, glisten, peaceful) but I don’t have this one ore amused, because I believed I was too light or cool tone for me, but after seeing them on you, I really want them along with the 2 new ones, buff and frisky. Thank you so much for your review.

CRAP. I didn’t even know there were new shades! I want Frisky and Glisten! My list of “makeup wants” keeps growing. Thanks for sharing about the new ones out, Fabiola!

i am so glad i ordered this during my last haul! it looks like a true dolly pink cheek. i also was considering buying bobbi brown nude pink… but since i have this i dont think i need the bobbi brown. i have a light medium warm skintone very similiar to yours and i have to say this looks adorable on you! i only hope it looks as good on me!

are there any tarte amazonian clay blushes that you would say is close to bobbi brown’s nude peach?

    i love the tarte blushes!

What a pretty blush! Christine, are you wearing foundation in these pictures? If you are, it looks so natural! If not, you have great skin :)

  7. Amanda

what are you wearing on the lips?? so lovely christine! xx

  8. I love Tarte Amazonian 12 Hour Clay blush. I have it in the coral shade. I may have to invest in this one too! Thanks for sharing :)

Last summer Sephora had a set with a “mini” dollface blush and park ave princess bronzer for 15$ (not sure if some still have it) and I highly recommend if anyone finds it to pick it up!! I have a ton of blushes so the smaller size (3.4g/0.11oz in com. 5.6g/0.20oz) was great and a steal if you ask me. I use dollface at least 2-3 times a week and since a little goes a long way for me I have barely made a dent in it! I love the color on my skin tone, I am fair and this gives you a wonderful flush that makes you actually look like you are blushing!

I actually saw that same set in Ulta today! I already own Dollface otherwise that would have been a great find!

I want it!! But is very difficult to find this brand in Spain :(

  11. Wow, that is definitely not the type of color I would think would look good on me, but on you it looks a lot different and prettier than I thought it would… Maybe I’ll check it out.

  12. Jessa

I love this blush! I’m pretty fair with a slightly warm-leaning undertone (NW 15) and this one brightens up my face like no other blush I’ve worn so far!

  13. This blush is so pretty on you! I haven’t been able to find my NARS blush in Desire lately (Eep! I’ve moved a few times in the last year, I think it may be lost forever…), and I’ve been thinking of getting this as a replacement. I only have one of these 12-Hour Clay Blushes (Exposed), but I love the formula.

  14. Daria

Christine, how do you find this compares to NARS Desire blush? Your thoughts are appreciated.

  15. Nay

You have accidentally doubled the item description my love :)

Sorry if you’ve already talked about this somewhere else, but I was wondering when you test the wear time of a blush are you testing it on your bare skin or with a whole face of foundation/primer/etc? I tend to wear my face products on bare skin without primer or anything, so I’m just curious if it makes a difference! Thank you!

    •  @stillsick I typically test both ways – I usually get about the same wear either way (in my experience), unless I’m wearing a primer or an exceptionally long-wearing foundation. I don’t test over primer + foundation, though.

  17. This is my all time favorite blush. For me, I do get 12 hours of wear especially if I put it on right after my moisturizer. I picked mine up at ULTA.

    Hi Christine!!!
How do you find this compares to Mac Crew Highlight Powder, from Hey Sailor collection (MAC)?
    Thanks!
