Wet ‘n’ Wild We’re Blasting Off Color Icon Eyeshadow Trio ($2.99 for 0.17 oz.) is almost like a carton of Neopolitan ice cream. It’s a trio of pink, brown, and plummy brown.  It’s one of the best trios of the limited edition sets.

The pink is a cool-toned, blue-based cotton candy pink with a soft frost finish. It has a really lovely texture; very soft and smooth, with good density. The color payoff is amazing on this shade! Inglot #319 is similar but has more of a sheen. MAC Feather Pink is darker.

In the middle, there is a blackish-brown with a burgundy shimmer-sheen. It’s darker and more cool-toned compared to Wet ‘n’ Wild Comfort Zone. It’s rather similar to MAC Smut.  Surprisingly, the texture is really workable; it’s soft and silky smooth with rich color payoff.

The final shade is a plummy brown with a frosted finish. The frost finish is almost metallic in the sheen. It’s a little lighter and browner than MAC Tendersmoke. It’s also lighter than MAC Shale. MAC Heirloom is browner, while Giorgio Armani Sweet Fire is pinker.  This has a soft, smooth texture with good color payoff.

Wet ‘n’ Wild Enter a New Realm Color Icon Eyeshadow Trio ($2.99 for 0.17 oz.) is such a visually striking palette! It’s a very classic color combination (generally speaking), but it looks stunning. It’s silver, black, and red. And I really do mean red–it’s not a red masquerading as fuchsia or pinky-red or coppery-red. It looks candy apple red in the pan.

The first shade in the palette is a medium-dark silver with a metallic finish. It’s definitely similar in color to Inglot #448. The color payoff is decent to good, but the texture makes it so it doesn’t come together as well so the appearance is less than smooth (which gives it slightly uneven color payoff).

In the middle, there’s a mostly matte black with brown undertones. It’s not the worst I’ve tried (and Wet ‘n’ Wild has had worse mattes in their palettes), but it’s not stellar. It has a drier texture so the pigmentation suffers; it’s not as opaque or as dense as I’d like. It performs better on the eye when it comes to pigmentation but did find there was slight fading after six hours (even over a primer). Not quite as bad as Wet ‘n’ Wild Fly me to the Moon but not as lovely as Make Up For Ever #4.

The final shade is is an orange-based red with a satiny shimmer-sheen. It has decent color payoff, though not as vibrant swatched as it appears in the pan. Sugarpill Love+ is more intense (though matte). Make Up For Ever #99 is matte, and more intense, while Make Up For Ever #158 is matte and more intense but also darker. Inglot #366 is similar but seems more orange. For $3, it’s a rather impressive red from a drugstore brand when many higher end brands do not have reds in their lines.

	For the red alone, I'd still recommend it -- particularly if you've always wanted to try red eyeshadow but know you'd never use it often enough to justify some of the higher end options. The black is the worst performing shade here, while the silver is the best and the red is decent.

Wet ‘n’ Wild Dancing in the Clouds Color Icon Eyeshadow Trio ($2.99 for 0.17 oz.) contains a gilded gold, violet, and softened copper.  It’s decent, but where it disappoints, it really disappoints.  At this price point, for two good colors, it’s still worth considering, of course.  Sometimes it makes you wonder what happened, though!  I can see this color combination working well together, but I don’t expect most to use it as each shade is labeled.

The gilded gold shade was beautiful to work with; it was soft, buttery, and so very pigmented. It reminded me of Urban Decay Maui Wowie without the fall out. Bare Escentuals Gold Medal also compares favorably. I was disappointed in the violet shade, beause the texture was dry and stiff, which yielded sheer, uneven color payoff. The violet shade is similar to MAC Violet and MAC Beautiful Iris. The final shade of the trio is a softened coppery brown with a frosted finish. It wasn’t as buttery as the gold shade, but it was still nice overlal and had good color payoff with a smooth application. It’s not as metallic as MAC Tan, and it’s not as intense as Urban Decay Baked. It seems rather similar to Wet ‘n’ Wild Comfort Zone, actually!

Wet ‘n’ Wild Fly Me to the Moon Color Icon Eyeshadow Trio ($2.99 for 0.17 oz.) is a cool-toned mix of white, black, and blue. It’s a shame that this trio ended up being poor performing all around, because I think the color combination is beautiful and could have worked so well together.

The Browbone shade is sheer, frosted cool-toned white. This has a very chunky texture–the shimmer feels like it is in pieces, so it results in fall out when applied to the lid. The color itself is also sheer. It’s a cooler-toned white than theBalm Tempting Tara.

The Crease shade is a mostly matte black with silver sparkle. It’s sheer, chalky, and very dry. The application is poor, because it is difficult to blend out. It’s an inferior version of NARS Night Breed.

The Eyelid shade is a medium-dark navy blue. It is dry and sheer, and the funniest part is that the texture and poor color payoff make it look like a different color than the pan. I did a double-take when I was comparing swatches and photos–I actually re-swatched, and it really is as unmatched as it seemed.

	Even for $2.99, I would still pass on this. Wet 'n' Wild does better eyeshadow than this--poor color payoff is one thing, just as drier textures is another, but taken together, it makes for a rather frustrating pairing.

Wet ‘n’ Wild Bright Idea Color Icon Eyeshadow Trio ($2.99 for 0.17 oz.) include shades of yellow, green, and pink.  It is a limited edition trio as part of the summer Dream Weavers Collection.  It’s available at local drugstore retailers, but not all have them and some sold out quickly of their stock so you might have to hunt around your local area for a displayer.

The Browbone shade is a sunshine yellow with a frosted finish. It has great color payoff with a dense texture that’s soft and smooth. It’s a little more golden and muted compared to MAC Bright Sunshine, but they are still rather close; it is also comparable (just a little darker) than MAC Double Feature #1.

The Crease shade is a cool-toned, medium grass green with a pale gold shimmer-sheen. It’s a fun shade, because the base color is cool-toned while the overlying shimmer is considerably warmer. The pigmentation is nice, and the texture is soft so it applies smoothly on the skin. It’s much lighter compared to Wet ‘n’ WIld Earth Looks Small From Down Here as well as Urban Decay Graffiti.

The Eyelid shade is a medium-dark pink with a hint of fuchsia iridescence in the finish. It’s the worst performing shade of the three–not fully pigmented so it applies unevenly (see the patchiness on the left portion of the swatch). The texture was a bit dry and not as dense as the other two shades. The color is similar to Milani Pink Twice. Make Up For Ever #83 is brighter and pinker.

Side note: While I appreciate the concept of identifying which colors go where, I don’t really see the labeling working in this particular trio. This set of colors is hard enough to wear together, let alone with bright yellow all over the brow bone. It could certainly work for a particular look, but overall, it’s a little much. None of this affects the rating, but it’s something I’ve seen more and more brands do. I think it takes away from some of the usefulness of guiding buyers on how to use a certain product. From a more creative stance, I appreciate the interesting pop of green amongst the other two colors (I would have expected copper, brown, or orange).

Wet ‘n’ Wild Earth Looks Small From Down Here Eyeshadow Trio ($2.99 for 0.12 oz.) is a limited edition palette from Wet ‘n’ Wild’s Dream Weavers Collection, which you can find at various drugstores–but the collection is not carried at all locations/stores, so you might want to call ahead. This trio contains a greenish gold, navy blue, and grassy green.

The Browbone shade is an olive green interwoven with antique gold with a frost finish. The green dominates this color, whereas we typically see antique golds that cast green but still read gold. I thought this would compare with Le Metier de Beaute Chameleon, but it doesn’t; it’s so much greener, they’re not even close. Bare Minerals Spectacular is closer but it has a browner base, so it appears darker and the finish is more metallic. Urban Decay Urb is greener (and terrible quality). theBalm Makeout Mary was the closest I could think of, but it doesn’t have as much gold (it ends up looking greener). The texture of this browbone shade is soft and smooth, and it has good color payoff.

The Crease shade is a purpled navy blue with a soft frost finish. The texture is drier and not as dense as the browbone shade, but the color payoff is still nice, though it isn’t as pigmented as the browbone shade. Urban Decay Goddess is similar in color but sheer, while Make Up For Ever #81 is darker. I expect MAC Contrast compares well with this shade though probably darker.

The Eyelid shade is a cool-toned grassy green with a soft frost finish. The texture is soft here, and the color payoff is good–there is no dryness like there was with the crease shade, but it’s not quite as dense as the browbone shade. This color is almost an exact dupe for Urban Decay Graffiti.
