Vanessa Hudgens @ 2010 MTV Movie Awards

I always love the way Vanessa looks at awards – so pretty!

Makeup How-to:

Karan Mitchell: Vanessa’s makeup for the MTV Movie Awards was inspired by the gorgeous sequined bodice on her Jenny Packham dress and the festive feel of summer in the air. We wanted the look to be bronzy and fresh but with a sexy twist.

I started with Vanessa’s eyes. I first used the lightest beige from #160 Garden Party Neutrogena Nourishing Eye Quad all over the eye up to the brow as a base. I then used the dark green shade on the outside corners of her lids and in the crease. For inside the corners of the eye and the highlight under the brow bone I used the pink shade in the Moonlight Violet Quad.

On the cheeks I used the soothing eye tint in Petal Shimmer as a highlight on the cheekbone. I then lightly brushed the bronze shade of the Neutrogena Healthy Skin Custom Glow Blush and Bronzer Duo in Berry Glow along the hairline and under the cheekbones for a sun kissed contour. I then lined her top eyelid as well as the inside of the lower lids were line with Nourishing Eyeliner #10 in Cosmic Black. I applied a strip of false eyelashes and then added two coats of Neutrogena Healthy Lengths Mascara in #06 Carbon Black.

For her skin we used Neutrogena SkinClearing Liquid Makeup in Tan #120. The concealer under the eye was Neutrogena Healthy Skin Brightening Perfector in #15 Medium. I lightly dusted the Mineral Sheers powder foundation #80 in tan to set the base.

For the lips we wanted a soft flush of color. I began with Neutrogena Lip Boost intense moisture therapy lip conditioner. The look was finished with a mixture of Super Sparkle #100 and Refreshing Rose Neutrogena MoistureShine gloss.

The Only In A Woman’s World campaign definitely has a bit of a theme — making your crazy-busy life easier. Why not streamline your beauty routine and still look gorgeous? (At least, when you’re pressed for time and can’t spend a half hour on your makeup!)

At the MTV Movie Awards, Vanessa Hudgens looked head-to-toe gorgeous, and her look was extremely subtle–very natural–very your-skin-but-better kind of a look. Here’s how I would recreate it…

Face: Use a liquid luminizer like MAC Strobe Cream and mix with your moisturizer or foundation. If you use a liquid foundation, I’d definitely recommend mixing it with the foundation. If you’re more of a powder girl, opt to mix it with your moisturizer prior to foundation application. This will help give you that all over glow without looking shimmery! Conceal any necessary areas like undereyes with your favorite concealer, and then apply your foundation. Lightly brush cheeks with a light sweep of bronzer, just on the apples, to add a touch of glow and bronzy color. If you feel too fair for bronzer, try a light dusting of a pastel pink, just so it looks like a natural flush. Set face with a loose, transparent powder. Mist with a spritz of water (or you can use a fixing/setting spray) to make sure there’s no powdery finish.

Lips: Take a sheer, baby pink gloss (I like NARS’ Turkish Delight), and apply to lips for an effortless look. For a longer wearing lip, first apply a layer of soft pink lipstick (I like MAC Hue or Plink!), then top with the milky pink gloss. You can choose your pink to be cool or warm toned, depending on your skin tone, to make it look more natural.

Eyes: Use a mascara that separates and adds length, to give you longer, wispy-looking lashes. Try black-brown or soft black for a less intense look than traditional ultra black mascaras. Lightly lay down a wash of a just-browner-than-your-skintone brown shadow on the lid. Tightline with a black kohl, and gently line the lower waterline with a brown liner.

Voila!
