OMG, what is this? A look? SERIOUSLY? OMG! Alert the media! ;)

For those who missed why the looks have been sparse, the biggest reason was just my skin issues. I was doing the whole “no makeup” look in literal translation to help give my skin a better chance to heal/recover from the breakouts. Even though I started doing makeup with bold eye looks and no face makeup… I learned how much nicer it looks when the face is complete (even if it’s only a little bit on the face). Anyway, my skin is getting much better, so I hope to do more looks for you all :)

I’m on my way to do a bridal trial, so wish me luck!

How are you all doing? Life been treating you well? I’m a bit behind in all areas of mine… hoping to respond to comments tomorrow (so please don’t think I’m ignoring you!).

P.S. – I didn’t realize the crease wasn’t quite fully blended until I saw pics here, so know I went back and fixed that!

You will need the following…

  • Eyes: Provence pigment (nude beige), Nylon eyeshadow (white-gold), Romp eyeshadow (dark gold-brown), Humid eyeshadow (forest green), Overgrown eyeshadow (bright yellow-green), Urban Decay Stash 24/7 Liner (antique gold), Givenchy Kajal liner (black), Plushlash mascara (black)
  • Cheeks: Spaced Out blush (soft peach)
  • Lips: Gentle Simmer slimshine (sheer coral), Le Metier de Beaute Papaya Creme (shimmery peach-gold)
  • Brushes: 266 (firm, angled brush), 226 (fluffy crease brush), 214 (smudge brush), 249 (flat, firm brush), 239 (fluffy shadow brush), 129 (dense blush brush)
  • Substitutes: Provence = Baselight; Overgrown = Sour Lemon; Spaced Out = Springsheen; Gentle = Vegas Volt (applied sheerly)

Directions: Define brows using a coordinating powder shadow applied with the 266 brush. Apply Provence pigment all over the lid as the base with the 249. On the inner lid, apply Nylon eyeshadow using the 239. Apply Romp eyeshadow to the middle of the lid. Darken crease with Humid eyeshadow using the 226. Overlay Overgrown eyeshadow using the 239 in the crease. Sweep Nylon eyeshadow underneath the brow bone to highlight. Finish with Urban Decay Stash Liner on lower lash line, Givenchy Kajal Liner on lower water line, and Plushlash mascara on lashes. Sweep apples of cheeks with Spaced Out blush using the 129. Apply Gentle slimshine to lips, and then top with Papaya Creme lipgloss for color and shine.

Easy look today. I was actually only putting on makeup because I wanted to snap a picture of my hair ;) I originally paired this eye with Strayin’ lipstick and Nice to Be Nice lipglass from HK, but I wasn’t feeling it so I swapped it out. My head is aching something fierce this morning, so I think I’m going to grab some food and cases to read and lay down for a bit. Perhaps snooze a lil’, since I didn’t get much sleep last night!

Hope you’re all getting through your week :)

  • Cheeks: Fun & Games blush (peach)
  • Lips: Cute-ster lipstick (sheer pink-gold shimmer), Mimmy lipglass (medium sheer pink with gold shimmer)
  • Brushes: 266 (firm, angled brush), 249 (flat, firm brush), 239 (fluffy shadow brush), 129 (dense blush brush)
  • Substitutes: Creme Royale = Nylon; Lucky Tom = Brun; Her Glitz = no dupe; Fun & Games = Springsheen; Cute-ster = Politely Pink (?); Mimmy = Enchantress

Directions: Define brows using a coordinating powder shadow applied with the 266 brush. Apply Soft Ochre all over the lid as the base with the 249. Christmas Eve look :)

Tuesday, December 16th, 2008

I did this look for Thanksgiving — something natural and simple, but still noticeable :) I did my makeup today for the first time since Thanksgiving, and it was horrible and felt SO, SO very unnatural.  I was like, “Wow!  Talk about rusty!”  By the by, I used Too Faced’s Shadow Insurance for the look I attempted today, and my eyeshadow looked all faded and gross less than three hours later.  I was quite puzzled!

Oh, and a Mellan story told in photos ;)

You will need the following…

  • Eyes: Soft Ochre paint pot (neutral beige), Ricepaper eyeshadow (neutral beige), Twinks eyeshadow (medium brown), Woodwinked eyeshadow (dark brown), Urban Decay Stash 24/7 Liner (antique gold), Blacktrack fluidline (black), Plushlash mascara (black)
  • Cheeks: Dior Rose Diamond skin shimmer (soft pink)
  • Lips: All Mine lipstick (medium pink), Posh Life lip gloss (pink)
  • Brushes: 266 (firm, angled brush), 249 (flat, firm brush), 239 (fluffy shadow brush), 129 (dense blush brush)
  • Substitutes: All Mine = Speak Louder; Posh Life = Pink Poodle

Directions: Define brows using a coordinating powder shadow applied with the 266 brush. Apply Soft Ochre paint pot all over the lid as the base with the 249. On the inner lid, apply Ricepaper eyeshadow using the 239. Apply Twinks eyeshadow to the middle of the lid. Darken the outer lid and crease using Woodwinked packed on and drag into crease using the 239. Sweep Ricepaper underneath the brow bone to highlight. Finish with Urban Decay Stash 24/7 Liner on lower lash line and Blacktrack fluidline on upper lash line, and Plushlash mascara on lashes. Sweep apples of cheeks with Rose Diamond skin shimmer using the 129. Apply All Mine lipstick to lips, and then top with Posh Life lipglass for color and shine.

The horseback ride was pretty nice, though I can certainly feel it today! I call it the “Triangle of Pain,” because you feel it on about three points at the seat of your pants. It’s not fun. I’m praying that the Zipline harness doesn’t overlap those points, because I imagine the harness itself might make me a bit sore, too! I told the boy that when I came home, I’d be an “Octagon of Pain.” Hawaii’s been great for the most part, but I haven’t slept well at all, so it’s starting to take a toll on me! I keep going to bed and getting that sleep where you wake up 20 times, and each time you do, you feel like you never even went to sleep at all!

The look I’m sharing with you today is what I wore to go horseback riding. It seemed like it was going to be a good day, weather-wise, and sure enough, perfect! Breezy and not too humid or hot aka my makeup wouldn’t slide off the first step I took outside. Today, I’m going to go pretty bare-faced for the Zipline adventure (we picked the 8am time slot), but I’ll put on my “real” face later, LOL.

You will need the following…

  • Eyes: Soft Ochre paint pot (creamy neutral base), Going Bananas eyeshadow (frosty yellow), Fab & Flashy eyeshadow (frosty orange), Bold & Brazen eyeshadow (bronze with pink), Dark Edge eyeshadow (matte dark brown), Ricepaper eyeshadow (neutral highlighter), UD 24//7 Stash Eye Pencil (dark gold), Plushlash mascara (black)
  • Cheeks: Margin blush (dirty pink)
  • Lips: Swelter slimshine (bright coral), C-thru lipglass (nude)
  • Brushes: 266 (firm, angled brush), 249 (flat, firm brush), 239 (fluffy shadow brush), 129 (dense blush brush)
  • Substitutes: Going Bananas = Bright Sunshine; Fab & Flashy = Juiced (not a great dupe); Bold & Brazen = Twinks; Dark Edge = Brun; Swelter = Skew

Directions: Define brows using a coordinating powder shadow applied with the 266 brush. Apply Soft Ochre paint pot all over the lid as the base with the 249. Apply Going Bananas eyeshadow to inner third of the lid using the 239 brush. Follow by applying Fab & Flashy eyeshadow to the middle of the lid. Darken outer lid with Bold & Brazen eyeshadow. Apply Dark Edge eyeshadow into outer crease to deepen, using the 239. Soften harsh lines with Going Bananas eyeshadow swept above crease. Highlight brow with Ricepaper eyeshadow. Line lower lash line with UD 24/7 Stash Eye Pencil. Sweep apples of cheeks with Margin blush using the 129. Apply Swelter slimshine to lips, and then top with C-thru lipglass for color and shine.
