Green-Teal Eyeliners: Your Guide

Surprisingly, not a lot of real dupes here – a couple that are similar, but the finishes tended to separate one from another. Also interesting? How much MAC dominates the green-ish teal eyeliners that I own!

Urban Decay Covet is a green-based teal with a soft sheen. MAC Blue Noon is a touch lighter.
MAC Undercurrent is a darkened, green-teal with gold shimmer.
MAC Minted is a darkened teal with a green tinge.
MAC Mystery is a blackened teal with a black-brown base.
Make Up For Ever #20L is a green-teal with a barely-there sheen.
MAC Jade Way is a darkened green with a hint of teal.
Urban Decay Junkie is a Green-Teal with a green-gold shimmer. It’s much bluer in comparison to MAC Undercurrent. (LE)
MAC Blue Noon is a medium teal with a hint of blue. It is lighter than MAC Minted. (LE)
MAC Float on By is a bluish-teal with a strong sheen. (LE)
MAC Practice Makes Perfect is a dark blue-based teal. (LE)

Behind-the-Series: It was my intention to provide heavy, opaque swatches to provide an accurate color comparison. Some eyeliners required one pass, some required five, and a few even more. Look: Subtle Green & Teal with Urban Decay Book of Shadows Vol. II

How’s your Wednesday treating you? By the time this post goes live, my butt will be taking a midterm! Can’t wait for that to be over!

I wore this look out to lunch this past Sunday and used Urban Decay’s Book of Shadows Vol. II Palette to do so. I was shooting for a subtle, yet colorful, look, so I went with a neutral base myself, but you could always use a colored base to make it pop more.

By the by, I did attempt to use Midnight Cowboy Rides Again on the inner lid, and let’s just say… you should pretend like that eyeshadow doesn’t exist in your palette. I had glitter all over my cheeks and none on my lid within five minutes.

You will need the following…

Eyes: Soft Ochre paint pot (neutral beige base), Urban Decay Sellout Eyeshadow (fleshy beige), Urban Decay Homegrown Eyeshadow (grassy green), Urban Decay Flipside Eyeshadow (teal), Urban Decay Misdemeanor Eyeshadow (dark green-teal), Urban Decay Perversion Eyeshadow (dark black-teal), Urban Decay Covet 24/7 Liner (teal), MAC Zoom Fast Lash mascara (black)
Cheeks: MAC Enough Said blush (bronzy), Dior Amber Diamond Skin Shimmer (bronzy)
Lips: Chanel Santal Rouge Allure Laque (peachy-gold)
Brushes: 266 (firm, angled brush), 226 (fluffy crease brush), 219 (pointed crease brush), 214 (smudge brush), 249 (flat, firm brush), 239 (fluffy shadow brush), 129 (dense blush brush)
Substitutes: Femme-fi = Shroom; Brave New Bronze = Velvet Teddy

Directions: Define brows using a coordinating powder shadow applied with the 266 brush. Apply Soft Ochre paint pot all over the lid as the base with the 249. On the inner lid, pack Sellout eyeshadow on using the 239. Apply Homegrown eyeshadow to the middle and outer portions of the lid. Darken crease with Misdemeanor eyeshadow using the 226, then deepen with Perversion eyeshadow with the 219. Lightly dust Flipside eyeshadow into the lower crease with the 226. Sweep Sellout eyeshadow underneath the brow bone to highlight. Finish with Urban Decay Covet Liner on lower lash line. Apply MAC Zoom Fast Lash mascara on lashes. Sweep apples of cheeks with MAC Enough Said blush using the 129, then highlight with Dior Amber Diamond Skin Shimmer with the 188. Apply Chanel Santal Rouge Allure Laque for color and shine.

Look – Shimmery White and Teal Blue Eyes

Sorry about the lack of looks lately! When your face resembles something from the swamp, the last thing you want to do is prettify your eyes, only to have your face ruin the look. I still managed to do a few, though! But more or less, I want to wear less makeup over more to do everything I can to speed up the healing process!

You will need the following…

Eyes: Too Faced Shadow Insurance (neutral base), Laura Mercier Tuxedo Palette (shimmery white), Silver Ring eyeshadow (silver), Shimmermoss eyeshadow (teal), Deep Truth eyeshadow (dark blue), Urban Decay Covet 24/7 Liner (teal), Dazzlelash mascara (black)
Cheeks: Enough Said blush (soft peach)
Lips: Strawberry Blonde lipstick (pink-coral), Tartlette lipglass (coral-pink)
Brushes: 266 (firm, angled brush), 249 (flat, firm brush), 239 (fluffy shadow brush), 129 (dense blush brush)
Substitutes: LM Tuxedo Palette (shimmery white) = White Frost; Enough Said = bronzer; Strawberry Blonde = Skew; Tartlette = Lychee Luxe

Directions: Define brows using a coordinating powder shadow applied with the 266 brush. Apply Too Faced Shadow Insurance all over the lid as the base with the 249. On the inner lid, apply shimmery white eyeshadow from the Tuxedo palette using the 239. Apply Silver Ring eyeshadow to the middle of the lid. Darken the outer lid using Shimmermoss eyeshadow and drag into crease using the 239. Darken crease with Deep Truth eyeshadow using the 239. Sweep the shimmery white eyeshadow underneath the brow bone to highlight. Finish with Urban Decay Covet 24/7 Liner on lower lash line, and Plushlash mascara on lashes. Sweep apples of cheeks with Enough Said blush using the 129. Apply Strawberry Blonde lipstick to lips, and then top with Tartlette lipglass for color and shine.

Look – Go Shopping in Neutrals but Pop with Teal

On Monday, I took my little sister back to school shopping, and since I was in a shopping mood myself, I figured I’d sneak a few peeks while I was with her. When I shop for clothes, I’ve learned that a neutral look is best. I like to coordinate colors with my outfit, and if they clash, it drives me bananas. In fact, I’ve often tried something on that clashes, and then not liked the outfit–when in reality, I’d have loved it if the makeup matched! Thus, something neutral and easy that can go with everything is ideal. I thought I’d use a smidge of teal to add some pop overall.

You will need the following…

Eyes: Ricepaper eyeshadow (neutral white highlighter), Gorgeous Gold eyeshadow (green-toned gold), Urban Decay Covet 24/7 Liner (teal), Lancome Oscillation mascara (black)
Cheeks: Peachykeen blush (soft peachy pink)
Lips: Givenchy Romantic Dandy lipstick (pink), C-Thru lipglass (nude beige)
Brushes: 266 (firm, angled brush), 249 (flat, firm brush), 239 (fluffy shadow brush), 129 (dense blush brush)
Substitutes: N/A

Directions: Define brows using a coordinating powder shadow applied with the 266 brush. Apply Ricepaper eyeshadow to lower lid with the 239. Line lower lash line with Urban Decay Covet 24/7 Liner. Soften edge with Gorgeous Gold eyeshadow smudged with the 219. Sweep apples of cheeks with Peachykeen using the 129. Apply Givenchy Romantic Dandy lipstick to lips, and then top with C-Thru lipglass for color and shine.
