Too Faced So Berry Sexy La Creme
Too Faced So Berry Sexy La Creme

Too Faced So Berry Sexy La Creme ($21.00 for 0.11 oz.) is described as a “fuchsia berry.” It’s a brightened berry-pink with a very subtle pink pearl shimmer. MAC Deliciously Forbidden is darker, redder. Guerlain Extrait de Rose is more shimmery and sheerer. Revlon Raspberry Pie is slightly redder/darker. MAC Speak Louder is warmer. MAC Full Fuchsia is brighter, redder.

It has an incredibly creamy consistency that feels like it’s melting against your lips as you apply it. The formula has a slickness to it, though it doesn’t bleed or feather on me. All of that creaminess means that it is also very comfortable to wear, as well as nicely hydrating from start to finish. The color payoff is fantastic with opaque color coverage. So Berry Sexy lasted five and a half hours on me, which is longer than the average lipstick (but a little short for a color like this) and a good wear for such a slick formula. It also left behind a soft stain.

Too Faced Cinnamon Kiss La Creme Lipstick
Too Faced Cinnamon Kiss La Creme Lipstick

A Rosy Pink for a Perfect Transition from Winter to Spring

Too Faced Cinnamon Kiss La Creme Lipstick ($21.00 for 0.11 oz.) is described as a “spiced brown.” It’s a subdued, rosy pink with a natural sheen. There’s none of the brown that you’d expect to see in “spiced brown,” but I would say that there’s a neutral element, like a beige or brown, that darkens and mutes the rosy color overall. Guerlain Ballade is redder, less pink, shimmery. Revlon Pink Truffle is less pink and more translucent. Bobbi Brown Nude Rose is lighter. MAC Glamourdaze is redder. MAC Offshoot is less pink, darker.

Cinnamon Kiss is opaque with very little product needed for full coverage. The consistency of the lipstick is smooth, creamy, and it glides on easily without pulling or tugging on the lips during application. This particular shade wore for five hours, which is really fantastic for smoething with as much slip as La Creme has. It wasn’t too thick or too thin, so it was comfortable to wear but didn’t bunch up or create lines if I pressed my lips together (I’ve had this happen with a few other shades from the formula). It was nicely hydrating during wear, and the hydration extended beyond just the wear of the lipstick.

This is my favorite shade of La Creme that I've tested thus far! It's richly pigmented, incredibly hydrating, and it wears well, too--everything it says it's supposed to do done well.

Too Faced Marshmallow Bunny La Creme Lipstick
Too Faced Marshmallow Bunny La Creme Lipstick

A Pale, Warm Pink Not to Be Missed

Too Faced Marshmallow Bunny La Creme Lipstick ($21.00 for 0.11 oz.) is described as a “marshmallow pink.” It’s a soft, light-medium pink with subtle yellow undertones. A lot of lighter pinks like this one tend to have cool undertones, so it’s nice to see one with some warmth. MAC Vivid Imagination is darker by several shades. MAC Angel is less warm–almost gray-ish in comparison. Cle de Peau #106 is a smidgen lighter.

Too Faced’s La Creme formula is supposed to be rich in color, creamy, and hydrating.  It definitely nails the creamy part; it is so slick and wet, that it almost feels like a lipstick-balm hybrid.  Despite the slick texture, it wears rather well for this type of texture:  three and a half hours.  It is nicely hydrating both during and post-wear, too.  The one downside is it has a thicker feel on the lips, so it can easily bunch up or show lines if you press your lips together.  Bunny was opaque on lips with a soft frosted sheen.

If you've been on the hunt for a warm, light pink, Marshmallow Bunny is worth a look-see. It's not the longest wearing formula, but it is very comfortable to wear and hydrating, too.

Too Faced Juicy Melons La Creme Lipstick
Too Faced Juicy Melons La Creme Lipstick

Go Right Ahead and Bite Into This Juicy Melon!

Too Faced Juicy Melons La Creme Lipstick ($21.00 for 0.11 oz.) is described as a “pink coral.” It’s a strawberry pink with a strong yellow undertone, so I could see it looking to coral–I think it’s a smidgen on the pinker side. This is like a much tamer variation of MAC Force of Love. Chanel Hyde Park is brighter and less yellow-toned. Guerlain Giulette is a bit brighter and has a gold sheen, but it is similar. MAC Sunny Seoul is a touch lighter. Bobbi Brown Pink Peony is quite comparable, perhaps a touch darker.

The formula is described as having “rich, creamy color” with “hydrating moisturizers.” It actually says “pigmented-saturated, one-swipe formulas drench lips with sexy, pure color.” Juicy Melons has a creamy consistency that looks and feels rather balm-like as it glides across lips easily and never, ever drags or tugs.  The color is mostly opaque and has a noticeable sheen from the finish.  It wore for three and a half hours, and when I wore it over an eight hour span (reapplying twice), I did find it hydrating! The one thing I noticed is that because it has a thicker consistency, if you press your lips together, lines are sometimes created.

For as creamy as this lipstick it, the wear time is fairly good, and the color payoff is very close to opaque. It's comfortable to wear, and if you tend to like lipstick-lip balm hybrids, you may like this formula!
