Tom Ford Narcissist Cheek Color ($55.00 for 0.28 oz.) is a brightened, medium-dark pink with cool undertones and a subtle fuchsia-pink sheen. NARS Desire is more blue-based and lighter (but if you use it lightly, they look more alike). MAC Florida is more magenta. Tarte Amused is a touch lighter. MAC Her Blooming Cheek is more fuchsia. Make Up For Ever #3 is similar. Make Up For Ever #75 is more magenta.

This shade is deliciously bright! It’s rich in color, incredibly saturated, and bright without being neon. It’s bold, dramatic, and buildable. It’s a very pigmented shade, so you will need to use a light-hand if you want softer, sheerer color. The texture is soft, finely-milled, and smooth, which aids blending; it easily softens and diffuses with a flick or two of your brush. If you only use it lightly, there are definitely similar shades on the market; if you want to use it so it looks more true-to-pan, then you’ll see the differences start jumping out at you. When worn softly, it almost looks like a plum-kissed raspberry pink. I wore this shade last week, and it lasted a full ten hours on me without any fading.

	Because it's so pigmented, it will show up readily on even the deepest complexions. Ultra fair complexions should be ready to use a light hand, but it absolutely can be worn softly. There's a noticeable cool undertone, but it's not too blue-based, so it will flatter both warm and cool skin tones.

Tom Ford Frantic Pink Cheek Color ($55.00 for 0.28 oz.) is a subtly gold shimmered light-medium pink with yellow undertones. MAC Stunner is similar but doesn’t have a golden shimmer. Benefit Hervana is slightly pinker. MAC Alpha Girl is more peach/orange. Tarina Tarantino Feather is more coral.

I’ve been particularly impressed by Tom Ford’s blush formula in the past, but I was a little disappointed in Frantic Pink. It’s not bad; it’s even really good. It’s just not as amazing as the other shades have been.  The texture is soft but very powdery, so it feels a little dry and doesn’t sit as nicely on the skin as the other shades.  It was still easy to blend, which I’d expect with such a soft texture and light color.  This one is less shimmery, though, compared to some of the other colors in the line-up.  It’s a lighter color, period, so it’s not going to show up well on medium to dark skin tones.  The color is very much what you see in the pan.  I was only able to get good wear out of this for eight hours, which is good, but other shades have yielded longer than that.

On the upside, Tom Ford gives plenty of product for the hefty price tag; it’s higher than average and definitely not skimpy. For reference, MAC blushes are 0.21 oz. and NARS blushes are 0.16 oz. each.  So, if it’s a shade you’d wear everyday, it might be cheaper-per-use, but it’s still an investment.

Tom Ford Savage Cheek Color ($55.00 for 0.28 oz.) is dirty red-brown. It’s hard to describe it, because it looks red, technically, but red brings images of bright, ruby reds to mind, whereas this is a much more muted red with a lot of brown to bring down the intensity. There’s a very faint sprinkling of gold shimmer that’s barely noticeable once applied. MAC Buddy Up is similar but browner. NARS G-Spot is very similar but has a different finish. NARS Oasis is much more plum.

What I like about Tom Ford’s blush range is the texture, and then after that, the buildable nature of the color itself. The texture is ridiculously soft, smooth, and feels dense, buttery–it almost feels like a cream blush because of how finely-milled and dense it is. You can build the color from a sheer flush to a more intense, true-to-pan color, if so desired. It doesn’t go on heavily, so you do not have to fear applying it, but it’s easily intensified without having to pack on the product. I continue to be impressed by the overall wear of the formula, too; Savage wore for a superb nine hours and was barely faded after ten.

Tom Ford Flush Cheek Color ($55.00 for 0.28 oz.) is a vibrant coral-orange with a subtle satin-like sheen and a faint shimmer. It’s very similar to Illamasqua Dixie, which is a little pinker and has a cream formula. Tarte Blissful is also incredibly close, and it even has a similar texture. theBalm Frat Boy is similar but a touch pinker.

Flush can be applied sheerly with ease or built up to a medium color coverage–it has enough pigmentation to work on deeper skin tones without being too intense on lighter skin tones. The finish has a natural sheen that isn’t heavy, shimmery, or frosted, so it doesn’t emphasize pores or the texture of the skin. It’s a very flattering shade on warmer skin tones, and though it is more coral-orange than coral-pink, the vibrancy gives it more wearability on cooler skin tones.

The texture of Tom Ford’s blushes is impressive, and truth be told, of all the items from his makeup range, the blushes have been the most impressive. Everything else has left me lukewarm or just a little excited, but the blushes have been fantastic. The texture of Flush is slightly less dense than Lovelust and Wicked, but the texture is very finely-milled, so it feels like silk and melts against the skin. It wore for ten hours and looked just barely faded along the very top of my cheekbones.

Tom Ford Wicked Cheek Color ($55.00 for 0.28 oz.) is a soft raspberry pink with a rosy pink shimmer and sheen. For better or for worse, Tom Ford’s blush range (from the three shades I’ve seen so far) is very core, which means the shades themselves are more basic, so you may have similar shades in your stash already. At the same time, they’re the kind of shades that become go-tos, because they work with a variety of looks. MAC Pink Tea is just a little softer, while MAC Lovecloud is a touch yellower–mix the two together, and you’d get pretty close. Tarte Dollface is lighter, more pastel. MAC Feeling Flush is a hint darker.

More and more, as a reviewer as well as a consumer, I really, really appreciate consistency. I’d rather a consistently poor performing product than one that is sometimes good but other times downright awful–and the very best is when you find a product range that is consistently excellent. Right now, I’m finding this to be true with Tom Ford’s blush range. First with Lovelust, now with Wicked. It has that same soft, smooth, buttery texture that’s dense and ultra finely-milled, so it melts against the skin and looks effortlessly natural. That silky smooth texture enables superior blending–you won’t need to worry about buffing for days; feather-light strokes will gently soften the edges of any application. I love that it can be applied softly or more intensely, but it’s never a shade you have to pack on.

The real reason that I am truly in love with Tom Ford’s blush formula is how well and long it wears. I thought perhaps it was a fluke or restricted to the shade, but Wicked wears a solid ten hours and looks nearly immaculate. I can’t think of a blush that wears longer at the moment! The texture, color, blendability, and wear are all fantastic. I don’t even know if there is room for improvement with the formula–it’s that good.

A little disclaimer or note, as this is a luxury brand and product: each person has their own rationalization process to justify whether something is worth it or not. What is affordable to you may be a luxury for someone else and vice versa. Price never affects quality; it affects whether it’s worth buying to you, but price doesn’t indicate a higher or lesser degree of quality (in an ideal world, it might), which is why the rating system specifically excludes it.

Tom Ford Love Lust Cheek Color ($55.00 for 0.28 oz.) is a dark coral with hints of orange and gold shimmer and just a smidgen of pink thrown in. There’s plenty of pigmentation–you can sheer it out for something softer, more of a sheen with a touch of color, or apply a little more for a bolder cheek. Chanel Tweed Brun Rose is more orange and matte. MAC Stereo Rose is less pink. MAC Marine Life is similar but has less shimmer. MAC Ripe Peach has less shimmer and less pink. Chanel In Love is browner.

The formula is supposed to deliver buildable color, whether you want a soft glow to a dramatic look. It’s supposed to have “the comfort of a cream” with “outstanding lumiosity” and “velvety transparency.” This powder is insanely soft; it feels like velvet against the skin–so finely milled that it really does have a creaminess to it, even though it is most definitely a powder product. The shimmer is fine, not too much, and most of it translates into a sheen rather than a shimmer. My favorite part about the formula was that this blush would wear for ten hours without fading on me. It may be one of the longest-wearing blushes I’ve tried to date.

Tom Ford Beauty is a luxury brand; it’s not just high-end, it’s luxury, which means it comes with a price tag that may inspire fainting, quips about the product being made out of gold/doing your taxes, and the like. Everyone’s budget and priorities are different, which is why I removed price from the rating system–whether it’s $1 or $100, the rating means the same thing. You’ll go through your rationalization process to determine whether something is worth it or not.

	It's one of the best blush formulas I've come across, because of the ultra finely-milled powder that almost feels like cream and blends seamlessly across the skin--and then there's the out of this world wear.
