For acne, topical prescriptions (clindamycin and Differin) helped combat both hormonal breakouts and milia. Recently, for dry patches, Tatcha’s Indigo Smoothing Cream has worked wonders for me. I’m working on hyper pigmentation right now, and I am seeing encouraging results with Biologique Recherche PIGM 400 P50 and Sunday Riley Good Genes.

Thanks to Deborah S. for today's question!

How would you describe your makeup style?

Experimental, LOL! And by that, I am constantly trying something new–in terms of product–but then also very standard, since I do not change up my application style/methods much (easier to compare how something works when you apply it the same every time!).

Hmm, good skincare is worth splurging on, but there are effective products at lower price points, too – but if what worked for my skin was $100, I wouldn’t compromise on it just to save money (I’d cut back elsewhere) unless I absolutely could not afford it, of course. I like natural hair brushes, and it is hard to get quality natural hair at a lower price point (the material just costs more), so I think I could safely say I wouldn’t skimp there. (If I wanted more affordable brushes, I would opt for synthetics.)
