How do you organize your eyeshadows? By color? Finish/texture? Brand?
I organize by brand, and then I organize by color, typically. For all my MAC eyeshadows, I have it organized by color EXCEPT mattes, which I do keep separate. In the interest of saving time, I’m probably going to also organize my permanent shades separately from limited edition shades as well.
Thanks to Cherie for today’s question!
What do you look for in your beauty product packaging? Shiny? Cute? Durable?
I like shiny and pretty and elegant. I don’t need it to be that durable (I don’t carry many products with me, if any), and cute is just that, cute – I prefer timeless overall.
Have you ever had a facial? Do you have them regularly? What do you like/dislike about them?
I’ve had one — it was a very pleasant experience, but the price always keeps me from venturing for another!
Who were your favorites (and least favorites) from last night’s Golden Globe Awards? Share!
Favorites: Christina Aguilera, Christina Hendricks, January Jones, Jennifer Aniston, Jennifer Morrison, Kristen Bell, Lea Michele, and Mo’Nique. My least favorites were Amy Poehler and Cameron Diaz. Lisa Edelstein’s dress was definitely one of my faves, too!
Are you prone to impulse beauty buying? Do you tend to buy more than you intended? How do you cope with impulse buying?
I actually do a lot of shopping online. I find that I’m rarely tempted by something strictly from online photos, but if you take me to a counter, I get all sorts of distracted by pretty things. I try to regularly window shop online and see what new things are out… and it sort of helps curbs the urge for impulses. I also try not to go to Nordstrom TOO often!
What’s your philosophy on makeup? Take that as what you think that means!
Makeup to me is an outlet to have fun, try new things, and get creativity flowing. It’s not always about making things perfect or absolutely flawless; a lot of it is really just trying things out and enjoying making mistakes to learn about what works, doesn’t, and how to improve. I love makeup because it’s fun, not because there’s a right or wrong way to do it. It’s great for restoring my confidence when I’m feeling low or highlighting my favorite features when I’m in a good mood.
