For the most part, I organize by brand and then by product, but for brands that I might have only one or two items of, then I just sort by product type. I just like the way everything stores/fits when it’s sorted within a brand, since those products will fit well together.
If I do heavier eye makeup, then I use a separate eye makeup remover like Lancome Bi-Facil, because I find it’s easier to remove eye makeup first, and then remove face makeup. Then I don’t end up with eyeliner and green eyeshadow running down my face!
Hourglass Gypsy Eyeshadow Duo + Chanel Dragon!!
Chanel Dragon!! If it ever gets discontinued, I will be one of those people who has to buy twenty of them to last for life… and store them in the refrigerator.
Practice, practice, practice. You don’t need a billion brushes–you just need one or two really good ones (I used only MAC’s 239 for a couple of years, as in one single 239!). Always step back to admire your work; you might think it’s not quite there when you’re two inches away from the mirror but the big picture might tell you something different. Try doing gradients of the same color to get the hang of blending–like a light brown with a darker brown.
