Dior Pop Diamond Skin Shimmericon ($43.00) is the latest limited edition DiorSkin Shimmer Powder. Amber Diamond and Rose Diamond are permanent Skin Shimmers, and last year saw limited edition Copper Diamond. If you’ve been reading for a few months, you probably know my obsession with both Amber Diamond and Rose Diamond. As soon as I heard Pop Diamond was coming out with Dior’s Cristal Collection, I swooned.

For anyone who felt like Rose Diamond ran too cool for them, I definitely suggest sneaking a peek at Pop Diamond. Pop Diamond is pinky-peach, which makes it a much warmer color to wear. I don’t feel it is overly warm, though, so I still think it is a universally flattering shade, like the other Skin Shimmers. I also think it is different enough from Rose Diamond to merit owning both–Rose Diamond is a cooler, paler pink, whereas Pop Diamond is a brighter, warmer pink with more gold/peach sheen.

Overall, I am happy with my purchase. I saw it on the displayer, and I was like, “One please!” I actually just caved and bought Copper Diamond off StrawberryNet this morning, so I can own them all.

Doug Lipgloss, James Lipgloss

Urban Decay’s Pocket Rocket Collection recently launched as a spring/summer product naughtily creating some sexy thoughts. Each lipgloss is housed in a flat lipgloss container, and at the top, there are photos of holographic men. If you tilt the lipgloss, the men will show up undressed and just in their boxers/briefs/skivvies.

Collection includes:

  • David Milky mauve
  • Doug Sheer medium pink with iridescent sparkle
  • Eric Sheer true red
  • James Sheer hot pink with ultraviolet glow
  • Jesse Sheer blackberry with warm sparkle
  • Julio Sheer white with iridescent sparkle
  • Kirk Sheer creamy nude
  • Timothy Creamy coral with pink glow

I tried two shades–Doug and James–and both are extremely shimmery/sparkly. It definitely looks like shimmer is in for this summer season, yeah? Doug is a sheer, shimmery raspberry pink with silvery-pink shimmer. James is a sheer, strawberry pink with fuchsia-purple shimmer. Both go on quite sheerly when applied to lips, so don’t expect a lot of color out of these bad boys. The product is pretty gimmicky, but the gloss is non-sticky and sparkly, so the product itself works as a lipgloss should!

NARS’ Tropic Collection for Summer 2009 may not have been my favorite I’ve been able to sneak a peek at this summer, but Belize lip gloss was prettier than I anticipated. I couldn’t tell you that I’d really recommend it, given it’s $24, but it’s worth considering if you like milky glosses.

Barielle’s Sugar Rush is a vibrant collection for the upcoming summer season. There are six shades (each retailing for $8.00) in the collection:

  • Cotton Candy Vibrant pink sparkle
  • Lemondrops Electric yellow
  • Sweet Addiction Minty green
  • Swizzle Stix Robin’s egg blue
  • Decadence Metallic turquoise
  • Grape Escape Plush purple hue

This is my first time trying out Barielle’s nail polish, and I was impressed by the pigmentation and creaminess of the polishes. I found most of the polishes applied nearly flawlessly (despite my rushed application), which is a huge plus!

Cotton Candy is a soft medium pink with lots of pretty pink sparkle. It is a little sheerer than some of the other shades in the collection.

Lemondrops is a creamy, bright primary yellow. Great texture, finish, and extremely opaque.

Sweet Addiction is a deep green-teal cream. Again, the finish and feel of this polish is fantastic, and there is lots of color in each coat (no more than two required).

Swizzle Stix is a creamy, sky blue. I didn’t have such great application with this, but I think it is because I applied too-thin of a coat on the first go round, which ended up in a streaky finish. I think if I wasn’t so quick on the draw, this would look dreamy.

Decadence is a rich, jewel-toned turquoise. It’s incredibly stunning, and even though it’s quite deep, I think the shimmer in it makes it perfect for summer.

Grape Escape is a really intense royal purple cream. It’s so opaque and creamy–it’s stunning in person.

Essie’s North Fork Collection features three summery colors in Sag Harbor, a cool silver blue; Shelter Island, a sky blue radiance; and Greenport, a dreamy aquamarine paradise. Each bottle retails for $9.00, and you can find ‘em at Essie.com (or click the link in the beginning). I’ve always been a fan of Essie’s polish formula, because it’s long-wearing and reliable. I’m more of a color fan, so I don’t always align with their collections, but I’m so happy to see these three hues join me for the season!

Sag Harbor is a cool, pale blue-gray with silver shimmer. Two coats was just right with this baby, but you need to make sure you have nice, even coats that aren’t too thin to ensure a streak-free finish.

Shelter Island is a creamy sky blue that’s not overly bright, but it isn’t pastel or pale either. It reminds me of an inviting swimming pool.

Greenport is a pale aquamarine color with a creamy finish. It has a lot of glossiness to it, and it’s really opaque.
