69th Annual Golden Globe Awards: Sofia Vergara
A look at Sofia Vergara as she walked the red carpet at the 69th Annual Golden Globe Awards held at the Beverly Hilton hotel in Beverly Hills, California on January 15th, 2012. Her makeup was done by makeup artist Kayleen McAdams. On inspiration, McAdams said, “This look is all about the lips. We chose a bright plum lip and kept the eyes soft with bronze shadow and multiple coats of mascara. The dress is a gorgeous shade of teal and the hair is very sleek and youthful so we wanted the makeup to stand out and look youthful as well.”
Makeup Breakdown
I started by applying COVERGIRL TRUconceal Concealer #4under the eyes and around the nose. I then applied COVERGIRL NatureLuxe Silk Foundation in Nutmeg with a sponge and set that with COVERGIRL Clean Pressed Powder in Soft Honey. I chose a plum toned blush COVERGIRL Cheekers Blush in Plumberry Glow and applied it along the cheekbones and apples of the cheeks.
Eyes:
I applied COVERGIRL Eye Enhancers 3-kit Shadow in Golden Sunset all over the lid and into the crease and then applied three coats of NEW COVERGIRL LashBlast 24HR Mascara to the top lashes and one coat on the bottom.Lips:
I applied COVERGIRL LipPerfection Lipcolor in Everlasting first and then appliedCOVERGIRL LipPerfection Lipliner in Beloved. This keeps the lipstick from bleeding, but makes it easier to apply the line with the moisture of the lipstick.When she was ready to hit the red carpet, I sent Sofia on her way with powder, lip pencil and lipstick for reapplication.

Makeup Breakdown
Makeup by Kayleen McAdams for COVERGIRL.
I started with a concealer (COVERGIRL Invisible Concealer in Honey) under her eyes and then wherever she needed a little extra coverage. I then used COVERGIRL Simply Ageless Foundation in Soft Honey (#255) and set that with COVERGIRL’s Clean Pressed Powder in Warm Beige (#145)
I then used COVERGIRL’s Simply Ageless Sculpting Blush in Plush Peach and set that cream blush with COVERGIRL’s Classic Colors Blush in Natural Glow. COVERGIRL Queen Collection 1-Kit Eyeshadow in Hot Toffee in the crease, COVERGIRL Liquiline Eyeliner in Black Fire along the top and bottom lash line, COVERGIRL Queen Collection 1-Kit Eyeshadow in Black Tie along the top and bottom lash line to set the eyeliner, and COVERGIRL Lash Blast Volume mascara in Very Black. COVERGIRL LipPerfection Lipcolor in Rapture (#280) on lips.
Hair Breakdown
Celebrity Stylist, Jen Atkin created a simple old Hollywood Look for Sofia Vergara at the 63rd Annual Emmy Award.s Atkin created a simple and clean, yet classic look. The look was almost “Barbie like” said Atkin, “I wanted the hair to reflect the elegance of her dress.”
Apply a light volume mousse to wet hair, starting two inches from the roots, to give the hair volume and body. Apply KeSARI Indian Oil Hair Serum two inches from the bottom of the hair and down, to keep hair shiny and healthy on the ends. Blow the hair dry using a medium sized round brush. Apply 1 ½ inch rollers to the top portion of the hair, using 1 inch rollers from the crown of the head to the nape of the neck. Using low heat, lightly blow dry the hair while the rollers are in to set the curls. Leave the rollers in for 10-to 15 minutes. To create the final shape of the look, spray hairspray onto a brush and brush through the hair, creating a slight side part. Finish the look by applying a dime size drop of KeSARI Indian Oil Hair Serum to the palms of hands and run through the hair, adding a final shine.

For skin I wanted her to have a silky, light look; I used COVERGIRL NatureLuxe Silk Foundation in Nutmeg and set that with COVERGIRL Clean Pressed Powder in Warm Beige and used COVERGIRL Cheekers Blush in Plumberry Glow. This gave her a warm look with soft cheeks.
We wanted to make the focus of this look the eye so we went with a strong black liner but as a subtle cat eye rather than a harsh line. In order to give the liner staying power, I like to layer different products. I started by lining the eye into a cat eye shape with COVERGIRL LiquilineBlast Eyeliner in Black Fire and then went over that same line with COVERGIRL LineExact Liquid Liner in Very Black.
I then blended dark chocolate brown eyeshadow starting from the outer corners and blending in towards the center. Along the bottom lash line I used the COVERGIRL LiquilineBlast Eyeliner in Brown Blaze and blended the liner with a black shadow to set it.
I then used two coats of the COVERGIRL LashBlast Fusion Mascara in Very Black to thicken the lashes and finish her look

We wanted to create a Brigitte Bardot inspired beauty look with a lot of lashes and a glamorous smoky eye. It was a classic Sofia beauty look, but just amped up a bit.
To highlight Sofia’s flawless complexion I used just a touch of concealer under her eyes and then applied COVERGIRL NatureLuxe Silk Foundation in Chestnut followed by COVERGIRL Clean Pressed Powder Oil Control in Soft Honey. I added just a touch of highlighter on her cheekbones, forehead and the bridge of her nose for a healthy glow and finished the skin with COVERGIRL Cheekers Blush in Classic pink applied on the apples of her cheeks.
For her smoky eye I first lined the top of the eyes with COVERGIRL LiquiLineBlast in Brown Blaze very close to the lash line and the bottom of the eye from the inner to outer corner. I made the line on the top very thick and smoky and then blended it out to a cat-eye shape. I then applied COVERGIRL Eye Enhancers in Coffee Shop over the liner to soften it and brought that color all the way up to the crease of her eye. Next I added a thin line of COVERGIRL Line Exact in Black Brown right at the lash line to add thickness to her lashes and finished the eye with lots of lashes; 3 coats of COVERGIRL LashBlast Fusion in very Black on the top and one on the bottom.
For Sofia’s mauve lip, I used COVERGIRL Lip Perfection Lipstick in Entwined for rich color with a creamy finish.
