The color is fully opaque, and it applies smoothly with a soft, blendable texture that feels like silk and requires little effort to soften around the edges. For light to medium complexions, it’s a one-and-done kind of shade for quick mornings, office-appropriate makeup, and the like. On deeper skin tones, it will be beautiful to brighten and wake up eyes with a little luminosity and neutral coloring. It’s a “boring” shade, but it’s incredibly versatile and usable. When I applied over bare lids (no primer), it wore for eight hours without fading or creasing, and when I applied over a primer, I had no problems over the same eight hour period. It’s packaged in a compact metal tin, which is designed to be placed into one of shu uemura’s palettes, though you could insert it into any magnetized palette.
It's really a perfect eyeshadow as far as quality is concerned--it has a beautifully soft texture with true-to-pan color that applies easily and without a fuss. It's not the most original or exciting color, but it certainly has its place.

It’s sheer, and the glitter is fairly loose; it doesn’t seem to bind with the underlying color, so some of it gets lost between the pan and the eyelid during application, and the rest? It falls out like crazy throughout the day. I had absolutely no fun trying to make this work, because I’d find glitter on my forehead, beneath my eyelid, or on my chin throughout the day. Fall out that occurs while you’re applying a product can be easier to deal with, but fall out that continuously occurs while you wear it is much more frustrating.
This type of texture needs an adhesive base, perhaps something like Too Faced’s Glitter Insurance, MAC’s Mixing Medium, and so on, because it doesn’t stick to the lid on its own or over a regular primer (like NARS Smudgeproof, Urban Decay Primer Potion, etc.). It has a slight grittiness as a result of the amount of glitter in it (and that it doesn’t seem to bind the shadow portion).
The product I have shown in the photos is a pan refill, which is designed to be put into one of their palettes (though you could certainly put it into any magnetic palette, as it is held in a metal tin).
Don't bother with the glitter finishes unless you're prepared to use an adhesive base, but on their own, they don't yield nearly enough color payoff and the all-day fall out is more than just a little problem.

The color coverage is great, with rich pigmentation. The texture is very, very soft–almost too soft–so it has a slightly more powdery feel as a result. It applies so opaquely onto the lid, though, and the powderiness didn’t seem to lead to fall out when I was testing it out in practice. The softness enables effortless blending, too. It’s a basic brown–certainly dupeable–but lovely to use and extremely flattering on warmer skin tones. When worn over a primer, it lasts for eight hours without creasing or fading (which is quite a feat!), and I didn’t have any issues at ten hours when used over a primer.
What is pictured is an eyeshadow refill, and refills are $15 a pop, while the compacts that contain them (from shu uemura) range from $8.00 for a single, $9.00 for a duo, and $14.00 for a quad. They’re similar to other pan eyeshadows, so you could fit these into other custom palettes (like Z-palettes and the like) as well. I have a shu palette, and the shades slide into the compact, which I haven’t seen before, and I did like it. It was lightweight, slim, and held the products inside easily. I did not take the palette into account for packaging score here – the packaging with this is so minimal, there’s nothing to complain about per se. These are designed to be put into a palette, so obviously this would not be practical to keep on its own. It does come with a plastic exterior case, which is good enough to hold it until you do have a palette.
It's a really high-quality shimmering brown with warm undertones--you may have shades that are very similar already, but if you don't, this is the kind of shade that easily becomes a staple!
