Revlon’s Colorburst Lip Butter formula is supposed to have “sheer to medium color” with a shiny finish and be ultra-hydrating on lips. Tutti Frutti is semi-opaque with noticeable translucency, and this translucency actually makes it look redder on my lips than it appears in the swatch (which makes it look quite orange). The natural pink hues in my lip color seem to dial down the orange of the shade. The consistency is smooth, creamy, and glides on easily without tugging or pulling. Tutti Frutti lasted for two and a half hours, but it was moisturizing.
The translucency of the color tones down the orange; it gives it a more reddish, slightly coral-like coloring when I apply it. The redder your natural lip color, the redder this will look.

Revlon Pink Truffle ColorBurst Lip Butter ($7.49 for 0.09 oz.) is a warm rosy pink with subtle white micro-shimmer and a naturally glossy finish. MAC Venus is pinker. Bobbi Brown Nude Rose is a little rosier. Thierry Mugler Feeling is redder and more frosted. Guerlain Cherry Blossom is similar in color but has a frosted finish, so it appears a smidgen lighter. It’s a nice everyday-appropriate shade with a little more oomph–still, natural-looking and the finish only adds to how effortless it looks.
The color coverage is mostly opaque, though there is some translucency to the color, as you can still see my lip freckle peeking through. This formula is supposed to have sheer to medium color coverage, so this is a wee bit over but not by much. Lip Butters have a divine consistency that’s really creamy, slick, and easy to apply, but it often comes at the expense of wear. Pink Truffle was one of the longer-wearing shades I’ve tested from this range–three hours–which is only a little shy of my more typical four hour average for lipsticks. It contains a little less product than the average lipstick (typically 0.10 to 0.12 oz.) and requires more frequent reapplication, but it is a more moisturizing formula.
It's a nice everyday-appropriate shade with a little more oomph--still, natural-looking and the finish only adds to how effortless it looks. I also had much better luck with the wear with this particular shade--a solid three hours!

It’s a rather translucent color, which means that it will often look different depending on the natural coloring of your lips. For instance, if you have a lot more natural pigmentation, this will look less pale/light. On me, it adds some warmth and makes my lip color look more even, but it doesn’t add a whole lot of color. If you like the idea of a “nude” in the sense of a soft way to de-emphasize your natural lip color while adding warmth, this would be a good pick.
Creme Brulee is a wearable, everyday kind of shade, and the texture is creamy and has a lot of slip, so it glides across lips easily and leaves behind a glossy sheen. Unfortunately, the slip also contributes to a very short wear time–a mere hour! I typically get four hours of the average lipstick (that isn’t touted as long-wearing). It contains a little less product than the average lipstick (typically 0.10 to 0.12 oz.) and requires frequent reapplication, but it is a more moisturizing formula.
If you like the idea of a "nude" in the sense of a soft way to de-emphasize your natural lip color while adding warmth, this would be a good pick. Of course, you have to be willing to reapply frequently!

The sheerness of the formula (and this range is supposed to be sheer to medium in coverage) actually makes this type of color infinitely more wearable than its opaque counterparts! It has a thin, slick consistency that glides easily onto lips, but it does wear away quickly–Cupcake only managed to stay on my lips for an hour and a half (as opposed to the average lipstick lasting four hours on me). It contains a little less product than the average lipstick (typically 0.10 to 0.12 oz.) and requires frequent reapplication, but it is a more moisturizing formula.
It wears away a little too quickly, but otherwise, it's a great product--so if you don't mind reapplying every hour or so, then it might still be a formula you'd enjoy. If you've ever wanted to rock a lilac pink but found more opaque versions to be too much, this is a nice alternative.

It has a slightly milky/creamy texture so you may see lines if you press your lips together. The color is rather opaque, even though it’s supposed to be sheer to medium in regards to color coverage. For those who were interested in the Lip Butter range for sheerer color, this shade may not be the right pick for you. If you very lightly tap it on and add a little balm, you may be able to get the sheer color you’re looking for. The formula is unscented.
It has a very creamy consistency that makes it easy to apply, because it glides right on, but there’s a fair amount of slip. The biggest downside to having as much slip as this product is that it does have a tendency to wear off easily (this shade lasted two and a half hours on me), but it is a more moisturizing formula. With lighter colors like this, the added slip can make it more difficult to get an even layer of color, because it tends to bunch up on itself or streak, which is why you’ll see a point deduction in the texture category.
This lip color would be lovely on cooler skin tones or paired with a really warm eye and cheek combination. It's more opaque than Revlon describes, which may be a good or bad thing, depending on what you're looking for. As with other shades in the Lip Butter range, wear time can be an issue.

Revlon Cotton Candy ColorBurst Lip Butter ($7.49 for 0.09 oz.) is soft, light-medium pink with subtle cool undertones and golden shimmer. The golden shimmer warms it up, which minimizes the cool tones of the blue-based pink base. Chanel Charme has a similar pink color but doesn’t have the golden shimmer. Guerlain Rose Innocent is a bit lighter, more opaque, and doesn’t have any gold shimmer. MAC Fabby has more mauve in its base color. MAC Behave Yourself has a similar base color, perhaps a little more lilac.
This color is semi-sheer with the color giving lips a slightly pink tint with a healthy dose of golden shimmer and sheen. This is the kind of coverage I would expect based on how Revlon described the Lip Butter formula. The consistency is creamy with a fair amount of slip, so it glides onto lips easily but will move around a bit–with a lighter shade like this, you may see lines if you press your lips together. It also contributes to a shorter wear time of under two hours. It is a more moisturizing formula, and it is nicely hydrating for a lipstick formula–it just doesn’t replace lip balm!
The real downside to products with as much slip and creaminess as the Lip Butters is the wear time--and while some of the shades have been better than others, this shade really wore off quickly. If you don't mind reapplying often, it's worth checking out!
