Illamasqua Posture Lipstick ($24.00 for 0.14 oz.) is described as a “cool mauve.” It’s a cool-toned, gray-tinted lavender with a matte finish. MAC Nocturnal Instincts is pinker, not as cool-toned/gray. MAC Fresh Amour is more opaque, cooler-toned. MAC Lavender Whip is pinker. OCC Digitalis is also pinker. See comparison swatches here.

The good news is that this wasn’t nearly as dry as ESP! It has mostly opaque color payoff, and the color applied fairly evenly and smoothly. The consistency of the formula is a bit dry and stiff, so it will tug a bit at the lip, but it doesn’t drag or catch to the point where application is really difficult or the resulting coverage is patchy. The drier texture does cling somewhat to lips, but it didn’t actually seem drying over the five and a half hours it lasted on my lips. I didn’t see this listed on Sephora’s website, so I’m not sure if it will be launching at Sephora with the rest of the Paranomal collection or not, but it is available on Illamasqua’s website.

	The texture was on the drying side in terms of feel, but it didn't dry out my lips when I wore it. It's an interesting color, so you may be more willing to work with this in exchange for the more unique coloring. I'd recommend lighting dabbing a balm on top or underneath to make it easier to wear and work with.

Clinique Ample Amber Chubby Stick Shadow Tint ($16.00 for 0.10 oz.) is described as a “bronze pink.” It’s a medium-dark brown with a subtle, frosted finish and warm undertones–it has a muted, almost copper-like, tone to it. Bobbi Brown Praline is warmer, lighter, and a powder product. Make Up For Ever #28 is very similar, and it is also a cream pencil. Burberry Pale Nude #1 is a touch darker, browner, and a powder. MAC Glimpse of Flesh is a smidgen lighter and a powder. MAC Tan is more metallic and a powder. MAC Caramel Sundae is less warm-toned and a powder. NARS Flowers 3 #3 is very similar but a powder product. See comparison swatches here.

Ample Amber has great buildable color, though it’s not quite the sheer wash of color described by Clinique.  One stroke yields semi-opaque color, and blended out, a sheer wash is achievable with some work (I would say you can get semi-sheer to semi-opaque color with less work).  It’s the blending that I have the biggest struggle with, as the pencil is on the drier side.  It doesn’t feel so stiff and stubborn that it becomes painful, but once on the lid, it doesn’t want to move around much, even initially.  Blending out the edges can be difficult, and when I used a blow dryer to heat the pencil prior to applying, the blending went better but not well.  I love that it wears a full twelve hours with no fading and only minor creasing (no primer) and that it doesn’t require sharpening, as it twists up.

	I love the long-wear, twist-up mechanism (so there's no sharpening required), and that is has buildable color--but it could be creamier and easier to blend, because it doesn't want to budge, even after you've just applied it.

Aveda Lemongrass Petal Essence Single Eye Color ($14.00 for 0.04 oz.) is described as a “satiny, light, iridescent green.” It’s a lightened, pastel green with warm, yellow undertones and a pearly sheen. It had good color payoff, and it applied well. When I tested it, the shade lasted eight hours with some minimal fading. bareMinerals Wicked ius lighter, not as warm-toned. MAC Juxt is slightly warmer. Dior Peacock #1 is slightly darker. Dior Peacock #5 is lighter. Urban Decay Jealous #2 is darker. Aveda Papyrus is darker, less frosted. See comparisons here.

Aveda Oceanica Petal Essence Single Eye Color ($14.00 for 0.04 oz.) is described as a “satiny, bright, island blue.” It’s a medium, muted blue with a frosted sheen. It had good pigmentation and applied smoothly, but it did look noticeably faded after I wore it for eight hours. Dior Swimming Pool Turquoise is lighter. MAC Cool Heat is much darker. Guerlain Les Aquas #2 is slightly less blue. L’Oreal Endless Sea is a touch darker. MAC Parrot is bolder, slightly darker. Make Up For Ever #72 is brighter and matte. For spring/summer, Aveda Eyeshadow ($14.00 for 0.04 oz.) released several shades, and I’m reviewing four of them in this post. The Petal Essence eyeshadow formula is supposed to be “non-fading,” “flower wax-infused,” “silky,” and “both color-true and crease-resistant.”  Two of the shades I tried were powdery, while the other two were soft and smooth.  The color payoff varied between good and great, but I noticed that these had a tendency to fade after seven hours of wear (without a primer), with Cinnamon Bark being the lone shade that lasted for a full eight hours without fading or creasing.  All four shades were blendable during application.

Papyrus is described as a “satiny, budding green.” It’s a warm, chartreuse green with a satiny sheen. It had decent color payoff, but the color looked slightly faded applied. The texture was soft and a bit powdery. Dior Peacock #1 is lighter and more shimmery. Buxom Shish Tzu is darker and a cream product. Dior Garden Pastels #1 is darker and more frosted. MAC Juxt is lighter.

Bare Bellis is described as a “satiny, baby pink.” It’s a rosy beige with subtle, warm undertones and a satiny sheen. It had good color payoff, but the texture was so soft that it was also powdery. Cinderella Midnight Hour is more beige and frosty. Urban Decay Laced is matte and slightly more beige. MAC Love Spice is more frosted.

Lantana is described as a “satiny, fresh coral.” It’s a softened, peachy brown with a pearly sheen. It had good color payoff and wasn’t powdery. Chanel Eclosion is more frosted.

Cinnamon Bark is described as a “satiny, rich mahogany.” It’s a rich, burgundy red with a satiny finish and strong, warm undertones.  The texture was soft and smooth but not powdery, and the pigmentation was rich and intense. Chanel Eclosion #4 is purpler, less warm-toned. Maybelline Pomegranate Punk is more burgundy and frosted. MAC Festive Delight #4 is similar. MAC Cranberry is more frosted. Inglot #452 is more frosted as well.

Essie In the Cab-ana Nail Lacquer ($8.00 for 0.50 fl. oz.) is described as a “self-assured aqua azure.” It’s a brightened, light-medium blue with a hint of aqua in it with a cream finish. The color reminds me of swimming pools! OCC Pool Boy is bluer but was the only possible dupe I could think of.

This was a little streaky on the initial coat, and the second covered and smoothed out the majority of the polish, but there were a couple places I could see issues with at a distance. It was mostly opaque after two coats, except where the streaks were not covered entirely. The polish itself was somewhat thick, so it was a bit harder to control the thickness to get even coats of the shade. The drying time was slightly longer than average due to the thicker consistency. I typically get a week of wear out of Essie’s formula with minor tip wear but no chipping.

P.S. — And if my bottle looks tiny, it’s because I bought the mini version since you and I both know I’ll never finish a full-sized bottle so I thought the minis would suffice for review purposes!

Dior Peacock (434) Eyeshadow Palette ($60.00 for 0.21 oz.) is a mix of warm, summery shades with a muted quality and earthy tones. It is new and limited edition this summer and contains five eyeshadows.

Peacock (434) Eyeshadow #1 is a light-medium green with warm, yellow undertones and a pearly sheen. It had good pigmentation and applied very smoothly. bareMinerals Wicked is slightly more frosted and less warm-toned. Buxom Shih Tzu is a cream eyeshadow and slightly darker. Dior Garden Pastels is darker. MAC Juxt is very comparable in color.

Peacock (434) Eyeshadow #2 is a pale, yellowy beige with a soft micro-shimmer. It is semi-sheer, so it tends to work best on fair skin or as a brow bone highlighter. MAC Dew is more frosted. MAC Dazzlelight is a touch lighter (it’s more pigmented, so it’s hard to tell).

Peacock (434) Eyeshadow #3 is a pale aqua-green that flashes to greenish yellow with a golden sheen. It looks like a minty green in the pan, but it is much yellower swatched. It had good pigmentation and applied smoothly. Dior Blue Lagoon #5 is similar. Too Faced Fantasy Island #2 is slightly darker.

Peacock (434) Eyeshadow #4 is dirty blue with a hint of green/teal and a satiny sheen. It had so-so color payoff but appeared more muted swatched and applied than it did in the pan. Chanel Metamorphose #1 is brighter, lighter. bareMinerals Editor’s Pick is bluer, much darker. Tom Ford Emerald Lust #2 is more teal-hued.

Peacock (434) Eyeshadow #5 is a pale yellow-green with a satin sheen. It had good pigmentation, and while it applied smoothly and evenly, it was somewhat powdery. It can be quick to sheer out if you blend it, so blend around the edges and pat the product on initially to minimize excess powder fall out and diffusing the color too much. Chanel Metamorphose #3 is darker. MAC Juxt is greener. Inglot #364 is matte.

It’s a decent to good palette, but it didn’t wow me.  The beige eyeshadow was rather sheer, while the center shade had more color payoff but wasn’t opaque.   The darkest shade in the palette was just so-so in pigmentation as well.  The remaining two eyeshadows were better.   Unfortunately, the texture of the palette, overall, was powdery, so I did see issues with the colors fading after seven to eight hours in a noticeable capacity.  There is also some fall out during application that makes this a palette better applied prior to base makeup, just so clean up easier.
