Korres Eyeshadows ($16.00 for 0.06 oz.) are smooth, blendable, and pigmented. I’m actually surprised at how well-rounded Korres’ line is, just because I came to know them as a skincare brand first, rather than a makeup brand, but they can do both well.
- #42S Green White is a sky blue with a silver-white frost sheen.
- #44S Golden Green is a light, springy chartreuse green with yellow gold sheen.
- #46S Olive Green is a smoked out gray-brown with a taupe sheen. I really don’t see much green in it, but it’s a lovely cool-toned brown with maybe a smidgen of khaki olive in it.
- #84S Sky Blue is a darkened periwinkle blue with violet and a bright, nearly metallic sheen. This one is more like a stormy blue sky, maybe. Not at all sky blue (in fact, they could have named #42S Sky Blue without missing a beat).
I’ll definitely put together a look using some of these shades, but after playing around with some combos on my eyes (nothing finished!), I like the way these blend together. They’re very smooth and apply evenly. The packaging is simple and functional–plastic square flip-top compacts. The back of the compact has a colored label and labeling information, so while I could see clear lids being more functional, the backs do give you a good idea as to what’s inside. I would, though, like to find out who names the colors, because they never seem to quite work…
At the moment, Korres has their eyeshadows marked down to $7–so, I’d say at that price, these are most certainly a steal!

Recommendation: If you like softer, more muted variations on color, Korres Eyeshadows seem to offer a selection of shades that will give you color without being bright or too bold.

Guerlain Terracotta Lip Gloss ($30.00) is a lightweight, non-sticky lipgloss that delivers subtle color with SPF 15. It’s a very moisturizing formula that lasts about two hours on my lips. The shades themselves are sheer in color, but they really have an excellent formula. I’ve tried three of the six shades that came out — there are also: Sierra (#02), Grenade (#03), and Santal (#05).
- Sable (#01) is a beige nude with champagne shimmer. It adds a little beige to my natural lip color, but mostly, it mutes the natural rose tint of my lips down a bit. I like this kind of shade with a smoky eye, either alone or over a nude lipstick.
- Ambre (#04) is a softened red-coral with fine gold shimmer. It’s muted, it’s sheer, but it still delivers a significant amount of color without being thick or goopy. I like this shade, because I think it would be universally flattering–it’s not at all orange.
- Ebene (#06) is a lush reddened, ambered bronze. It’s one of the most pigmented shades of the three I tried. Loved the consistency — smooth, even color that doesn’t sink into lip lines.
Guerlain describes the applicator as ergonomic, but I have to tell you, it was really awkward for me. I don’t know if it’s perhaps more to do with the length of the applicator or the handle, but it felt a little wobbly in my hands, personally–but I would say I have bigger hands with longer fingers (I blame my piano playing years!), so that could be it, too.
They feel like a glossy, thicker lip balm, but they’re on the thinner side for a lipgloss. They still deliver the shine and glossiness that you’d expect in a gloss, but they keep lips looking full, pouty, and soft while you wear ‘em. They have a slight scent, like most Guerlain lip products, but it seems subtler than is par for the brand.

Recommendation: Those who really enjoy lightweight, non-sticky glosses that go on thin and have a nice, moisturizing touch, may like Guerlain’s Terracotta Glosses.

Duri’s Paparazzi Collection includes twelve shades for spring/summer: Drama Queen (gold), Oscar Party (green), Fashion Police (blue), Addicted to Fame (orange), I Don’t Kiss and Tell (red), Limo Ride (deep red), Bombshell (bright red), Divas Only (brown), Paparazzi (deep green), Gossip Exclusive (brown), Tabloid Rumors (dark taupe), and Celebrity Scandal (silver). Each Duri shade retails for $5.00 for 0.5 fl. oz.
I found the formula to be on the thinner side, but it didn’t seem to impact application or the intensity of the colors. Paparazzi and Bombshell applied smoothly, though Paparazzi had some brush strokes coming through. Celebrity Scandal has a very different finish/texture compared to the other two I tried, so it had a rougher finish, but a thick layer of top coat solved that.
- Paparazzi is a deep emerald green with lighter green shimmer. This shade only needs two coats, but I went with three to see if I could eliminate some of the brush strokes lingering in the application.
- Celebrity Scandal is a shimmered tin-foil color–it definitely reminds me of foil, but it has a slight shimmer to it. It’s not entirely smooth on the nail, and I found that by itself, it dried to a semi-matte finish. The shimmer/glitter applied pretty evenly, and I found three coats was the most optimum level for total coverage.
- Bombshell is a ruby shimmered cherry red. I found that I needed three coats for this, just to make totally rich and opaque, but two coats came close to complete coverage.
P.S. — I’m totally amused that the three I tried look more like a Christmas set than part of a summer collection!

Clarins Orchid (#06) Gloss Appeal
($21.00) is a sheer, reddened coral with ultra fine iridescent fuchsia shimmer. Gloss Appeal is a nice, non-sticky, lightweight gloss that lasts about two hours on its own. The shimmer is super, super fine, which makes it ideal for those who are sensitive to texture and the grit of more glittery glosses. It has a subtle, fruity scent that doesn’t linger once its on the lips. It only delivers semi-sheer color on my lips, so if you have ultra pigmented lips, you may want to try it out in-store first!

Tarte Clay Shadow/Liner
($22.00 for 0.08 oz.) is new for summer and available in five shades: Black (matte black), Bronze (deep bronze sheen), Brown (matte chocolate brown), Indigo (deep royal blue sheen), and Plum (eggplant purple sheen). Each shade also comes with a double-ended brush with a small eyeshadow brush on one end and a pointed end for lining.
For the past couple of weeks, I’ve been testing the wear of four of the five shades, and they definitely hold up well as an eyeshadow or eyeshadow base. They’re a bit bold to wear alone, so I’ve found that I prefer layering eyeshadows on top of them instead. They have a creamy feel and apply with a very smooth finish.
- Brown is a matte chocolate brown–that’s the exact description I came up with before I read the officialy one–and it’s very, very opaque.
- Indigo is a midnight blue with a soft, frosted sheen. I found that it’s pigmented without being intense. It’s a noticeable color, but it isn’t too vibrant that it’s a bright.
- Plum is a red-based medium-dark purple with multi-colored shimmer and a frost sheen. I don’t think I’d call this Plum, though — it’s a bit brighter than that.
- Bronze is a coppered bronze with a frosted sheen .It has a definite warmth to it.
The shades themselves don’t reinvent the color wheel by any means, but the product itself is solid. I didn’t experience any creasing or fading when I used them as an eyeshadow base. Similar, when I wore them as eyeliner, they stayed put–no budging, migration, or fading. I found the Brown shade (the only one I tried, since the other three have shimmer) lasted a few hours on my waterline, as well. They’re definitely pool and summer-friendly products, though I definitely like them more as an eyeliner. I find such dark bases eat color rather than enhance it like lighter bases, so I just personally get more use out of these kinds of products by using them as an eyeliner.
I had a little issue with the packaging, as I often had to attempt to screw the cap on several times to catch the threading, and the cap itself felt a bit flimsy. It doesn’t make or break the product for me, but it was annoying, since you want to make sure to tightly close all of your cream/gel products to prevent them from drying out. The included brush is just so-so–I still reached for my trusty MAC brushes–just a little unrefined and not the softest brush I’ve used. Better than a sponge-tip applicator, though!

MAC Superglass Collection: Review, Photos, & Swatches
Superglass is latest lipgloss creation by MAC. My review for these is still the same and reposted with minor edits below. They are a thick, sticky gloss loaded with both shimmer and flaky glitter particles. They’re not for those who prefer less rather than more when it comes to shimmer, glitter, or texture. I personally found it to be one of the thickest glosses I’ve ever worn–almost like the consistency of honey.
I like these, but I don’t love them–I like them a lot more on top of lipsticks for an extra kick of dazzling shimmer, but alone, they’re not as fun. The texture/formula on these is consistent through all nine shades, so must-haves seem more dependent on your personal tastes. My personal favorites, though, are Totally Bang! and Cherry Electric.
- Most pigmented shades: Fab Frenzy, Totally Bang!, Cherry Electric
- Sheerest shades: Sweet Tart, Sugar Overload
Are you looking to double your dazzle or streamline your dazzle?
There are some shades of Superglass that are similar to Dazzleglass shades, but I’d say that these, on average, are more pigmented than Dazzleglasses, so the Superglass version is very much a Super-Dazzleglass version. Whether you’re a fiend for all things dazzling and therefore want to double your dazzle or if you’re looking to get shades different from your Dazzleglasses…
- Cherry Electric is like a pinker version of Love Alert.
- Totally Bang! is a pinker version of Ms. Fizz.
- Sugar Overload is comparable to Sugarrimmed.
- Fab Frenzy is a much more intense version of Date Night.
- Disco Overload is like a brighter, more orange version of Bare Necessity.
- You probably don’t need both Sweet Tart and Superflash–they’re so similar to each other–the latter being a smidgen brighter, but they look nearly the same on lips.
Superglass ($18.00 for 0.15 oz.)
- Fab Frenzy is is darkened berry-purple with flecks of iridescent fuchsia-purple flakes. It’s decently pigmented, and it does give plenty of color to lips on its own.
- Totally Bang! is is a vibrant fuchsia-pink with semi-opaque color coverage. It has iridescent purple flakes along with golden and amber shimmer. This is one of the most pigmented shades of Superglass.
- Cherry Electric is a softened pink with a little extra kick of red. It has iridescent purple flakes along with golden shimmer. The color coverage is semi-sheer with some color but not solid.
- Superflash! is a sheer baby pink with flashes of amber shimmer and flakes of grayish-purple. This one is definitely on the sheerer side.
- Sugar Overload is a milky pale pink-nude with gold and white shimmer and then larger grayish-silver flecks of glitter. Very milky looking, not really creamy, but it doesn’t settle into lips too much. It is, however, pretty sheer. It’s a bit like Boy Bait Cremesheen Glass, except with glitter overload. Ha, overload!
- Sweet Tart is a soft pink with only a slight milkiness to it. It has white and gold shimmer with large flecks of a grayish-purple and peach glitter. It’s a sheerer shade, but it gives more color than Sugar Overload. I feel like it just brings out some of the natural pink in my lips.
- Gift Wrap is a sheer, muted pinky-coral with flakes of silver-y purple and amber and white shimmer. It has some color, but it tends to just emphasize your natural lip color.
- Disco Blend is a peachy-beige with a smidgen of brown. The sparkles in it seem to include a gold shimmer, chunkier gray-silver particles, and some peach flecks. Not totally sheer, but it’s not opaque either — it does a decent job of giving my lips a different color, though.
- Tunnel of Love is a reddish brown with white and gold shimmer along with flecks of grayish-silver and peach glitter. I found this one had the most color pay off, but it has a tendency to look a little uneven on the lips. From further away, it’s not as noticeable, but I just couldn’t get it to look smooth and even. Bonus: it made my teeth look super white!
The formula is thick and sticky, but the glitter never felt gritty to me, even five hours later. I was pleasantly surprised that I didn’t feel much grittiness, but I think when these fade entirely, there may be a little texture to the glitter. Because it is pretty thick and sticky, the glosses lasted quite awhile on my lips. I slicked on Sweet Tart around 6 PM, and it was still lingering at 11 PM. It wasn’t quite as glossy as it was initially, but it still looked glossy and shimmery. The glitter seemed to stay in place, and none of it migrated to the outer edges of my lips, so all in all, it faded nicely. Oh, and did I mention I ate dinner with it on? Oh, yeah.
I do think the glitter is large and chunky, and it really does remind me of the flecks of glitter you’ll see in some nail polishes, but it’s not so severe once it’s on your lips, particularly at a normal viewing distance. You’ll see flat grayish particles, but they catch light, so this gloss looks best in light/in person, that way it can catch light as you move vs. a still photograph. It’s an interesting look, and I know some will love it, some will find it tacky. I like the concept better over lipstick than worn alone, partially because these are a bit sheer, but also because it makes the glitter pop a little more.

I know some of us (that includes me!) were concerned about just how much product was going to be in these tubes, but it looks like MAC may have considered what we’ve been complaining about–there is 0.15 oz. in Superglass, as compared to 0.06 oz. in Dazzleglass, 0.08 oz. in Cremesheen Glass, and 0.17 oz. in Lipglass. More expensive than Lipglass, but it’s a way better deal than Dazzleglass! The packaging is very much like Dazzleglass in terms of the type of materials, glossy look of the plastic, etc. but it is six-sided, so it won’t roll off your bathroom counter at least!
BOTTOM LINE: These are long-wearing, ultra glittery lipglosses with a thick (but not goopy!) feel and sticky texture. They seem to run from sheer to semi-sheer with some shades being more pigmented than others, but none are entirely opaque. They are vanilla scented, and I didn’t really notice any taste since wearing them. I think these are best over lipsticks, rather than alone, though some of the more intense shades could be worn alone.

Recommendation: If you don’t mind sticky gloss and love yourself some glitter, I’d say give these a shot. You might be surprised at how the glitter translates on your lips! If you don’t like the stickiness of Lipglass, I don’t think you’ll like the feel of Superglass at all. I also wouldn’t go into these expecting 100% opaque color pay off either!
