MAC Refined Golden Bronzing Powder

MAC Refined Golden Bronzing Powder ($24.00 for 0.35 oz.) is described as a “finely spun golden with soft pearl finish.” It’s a medium-dark tan brown with warm undertones–a little red, a little yellow–and gold sparkle. This is the darkest/deepest bronzer of the launch, so for more than just a warm tint on deeper complexions, this would be your best bet (though you might consider other shades within the permanent range). This is like a darker version of MAC Soft Sand. Urban Decay Toasted is more red-toned.

MAC Launch Away! Blush

MAC Launch Away! Blush ($21.00 for 0.21 oz.) is described as a “true peach” with a satin finish. It looks a little pinked in the pot, but it’s more like a darkened peach–in the pot. On me, though, it turns rather pink! It’s a light-medium peony pink with warm undertones and a subtle sheen. MAC Crew is warmer and a touch darker, and this is noticeable on the cheeks, too–but Crew is also less buildable and pigmented compared to Launch Away! MAC Flower Fantasy is lighter and has a higher sheen. Chanel Brompton Road is a bit lighter and shows up less on the cheeks. Benefit Hervana is darker and sheerer. Burberry Peony is very similar but has more of a true matte finish.

MAC Fleet Fast Blush

MAC Fleet Fast Blush ($21.00 for 0.21 oz.) is described as a “pinky golden coral” with a satin finish. It’s a muted red-coral with a golden shimmer-sheen. Tom Ford Flush is more vibrant with less shimmer. MAC Immortal Flower is softer and pinker with more of a sheen than a shimmer. Tarte Glisten is very similar but with a more pronounced sheen. Illamasqua Dixie is much more intense and vibrant. Tarte Blissful is brighter and warmer. Tarina Tarantino Feather is lighter. theBalm Frat Boy is a touch pinker and doesn’t have the shimmer/sheen. MAC Early Morning is looks almost burnt in comparison–a little redder.

MAC Hey, Sailor Pigments

MAC Hey, Sailor Pigments ($21.00 for 0.15 oz.) include two shades: Naval Blue (deep smoky blue) and Old Gold (high frosted tarnished gold).  They are in special packaging with the naval stripes wrapping around the clear jar and have a glossy navy blue cap (as compared to the rubberized black cap of the regular packaging).  These were actually more user-friendly to use and didn’t seem to spill as much as the regular packaging, oddly enough.  Please note that neither shade is recommended for use in the lip area.

Tom Ford Silver Smoke Nail Lacquer

Tom Ford Silver Smoke Nail Lacquer ($30.00 for 0.40 fl. oz.) is a taupe-pewter with a metallic finish. This was a really hard color to describe; it’s golden, smoky, pewter, and kind of taupe-ish. Chanel Delight is more copper. China Glaze Swing Baby is less warm-toned. Urban Decay Superfreak is more golden. MAC Soiree has more copper shimmer. Dior Timeless Gold is more pewter. China Glaze Jingle Bells is very gold in comparison. Chanel Quartz is grayer, almost green-tinted. Zoya Jules is lighter and less warm-toned.

Illamasqua Hype Eyeshadow

Illamasqua Hype Eyeshadow ($20.00 for 0.07 oz.) is described as a “matte bright yellow.” This is a vibrant, bright sunshine yellow–it has a lot of warmth. There’s a slightly goldenrod tone to it. It’s not as warm or as dark as MAC Goldenrod, but it is nearly identical to Inglot #323.  Other shades of yellow I think of are either more neutral or cool-toned or else have a lot of shimmer.
