When this showed up in a holiday palette, I found it very sheer. That was not the case here–this eyeshadow is so, so much better as a single than it ever was in the palette. The color payoff is dead-on with true-to-pan, opaque color. It has a soft texture that goes on as smoothly as silk and blends out easily. The versatility/use of this shade is going to depend on your skin tone; on me, it’s very close to my natural lid color, so I don’t know how often I’d use it myself, but I thought the color payoff and texture were really stellar here. I wore it on the inner lid and on the brow bone as a highlighter, and it was slightly faded along the brow bone after eight hours but mostly intact on the lid (no primer).
The versatility/use of this shade is going to depend on your skin tone--for some this could be a great highlighter, others a wash of color, and others a great brightening/lid shade.

This shade was part of a quad in 2010, and it was as lovely then and as it is lovely now. The pigmentation is intense and true-to-pan, and the texture is that soft, dense, buttery delight that Veluxe Pearls are supposed to be. It applied smoothly and evenly, and it blended beautifully with little work. I didn’t experience any fall out during application or wear, and the shade itself wore for eight hours with no fading or creasing (no primer) but showed a faint sign of creasing after nine. The only real downside is that it’s a color that is popular across brands, and many of the versions available are really quite good. It reminded me of how I felt the day Veluxe Pearls launched, and I remember standing at the counter swatching them going, “ooh! ahh!”

This shade was mostly opaque on the lips with a touch of lingering translucency–there are just hints of my natural lip color coming through and altering the color slightly. I’d expect if you had more natural pigmentation in your lip color, you’d see it get darker/redder. Romance lasted for five hours, and it was hydrating, lightweight, and comfortable to wear. The consistency of the formula is slick, creamy, but not thick, and goes on evenly. The lipstick range is violet-scented but has no discernible taste, and it is packaged in a tube that opens with a slider.

You can find Sidecar in the original Naked Palette. Though it has a sparkle finish, it doesn’t seem to have micro-gltiter, and the sparkle is fine and sparse–I didn’t have problems with it in the Naked Palette, and I didn’t have problems when I tried this shade (which is in the newer formulation). I didn’t see fall out during application or later on during wear. The color itself is fully pigmented, and it applies evenly and smoothly. It has a dense, buttery texture that is soft and easily blended on the skin. I wore it and had it last for full eight hours without fading or creasing, and there was some very light fading along the outer edge after nine hours.
Sidecar is a very wearable, warm-toned brown that's not too dark, not too light. I didn't have any problems with fall out, even though it has a sparklier finish.

Urban Decay Omen Eyeshadow ($18.00 for 0.05 oz.) is described as a “metallic bright purple with blue shift.” It’s a cool-toned, blue-based violet purple with hints of fuchsia in its base. The finish has a high frost content and comes off a bit metallic. Tarte Touchdown in Londontown is a darker purple. MAC Stars ‘n Rockets is much more fuchsia. Inglot #441 is darker, purpler. It’s not similar to either Urban Decay Ecstasy (cooler-toned, no pink) or Fishnet (very fuchsia/pink, like MAC Stars ‘n Rockets).
Like Deep End, Omen was released in the 15th Anniversary Palette. When I first posted about the shades Urban Decay was adding to their permanent range, readers really seemed quite happy about Omen coming back, so I was eager to play around with it again. I’m happy to report that it has a soft, buttery texture that applies smoothly and evenly. The color payoff is good, and the pink base comes out more as you swatch and blend it out. When I tested this on the lid, it wore well for eight hours without fading or creasing, and after nine hours there was a hint of fading along the outer edge.

It originally debuted in the Naked Basics Palette (so not that long ago), and if you fear running out of it or you loved it but not enough to pick up the palette, you can grab it as an individual color. Overall, Faint is a very versatile neutral, and it was definitely one of the best shades in the Basics palette, because it can work on a variety of skin tones. I didn’t re-test this one, since it just came out two months ago, but when I originally tested it, the shade lasted for nine hours without fading or creasing (no primer). The texture is soft, finely-milled, and had excellent color payoff–the individual pot did seem a smidgen powdery, though. The blendability, however, is top notch, and I didn’t notice any fall out from the powderiness during application (I did try applying this pot of shadow, I just didn’t keep it on all day).
Overall, Faint is a very versatile neutral, and it was definitely one of the best shades in the Basics palette, because it can work on a variety of skin tones.
