Chanel Delice (78) Joues Contraste Powder Blush

Chanel Delice (78) Joues Contraste Powder Blush ($43.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a pale, aqua-shimmered white highlighter. In the promo photos, it looked more minty green, and in real life, it looked nearly white except for a very faint hint of green–but at a glance, it looked mostly white. Giorgio Armani Moonlight White #1 is similar. Chanel Lumiere Sculptee de Chanel is less shimmery. See comparison swatches.

Hare Polish What I Wore to the Revolution & Teen Queen Nail Lacquers

Hare Polish What I Wore to the Revolution Nail Lacquer ($10.00 for 0.50 fl. oz.) is described as a “blend of matte and satin hexes and squares in black, hot pink, and hot orange [with] sparkling silver shimmer.” There are black, red, and orange hexagon and square-shaped glitters in small and medium sizes. There is also silver sparkle in the background. All of the glitters are suspended in a clear base. The mixture reminds me of Las Vegas, actually. China Glaze Razzle Me, Dazzle Me is the only shade I could think of that had a similar feel, but the composition is rather different. See comparison swatches. I wore one coat layered over Revlon’s Rose Quartz, a dirty gold with a pink duochrome sheen (but very subtle), and then I applied two coats alone on my thumb nail so you can get a feel for the density/opacity on its own. It had good coverage in one coat and spread out fairly evenly.

NARS Galathee & Fury Nail Polishes

NARS Galathee Nail Polish ($19.00 for 0.50 fl. oz.) is described as a “dove grey.” Dove grey is the perfect descriptor for this color; it’s a light-medium gray with nearly neutral undertones that lead only slightly blue. The consistency was slightly thick, and this is a polish that would be best applied with two thin coats and a third slightly thicker coat. It was just slightly streaky, and I was only able to see the slight streakiness at a couple of angles but it often looked just fine (you can even see the same is true in the photos). Two coats was mostly opaque with a hint of visible nail line coming through when in a well-lit area. Illamasqua Raindrops is similar in color but has flecks of sparkle. Illamasqua DWS is several shades darker. Rescue Beauty Lounge Stormy is even darker than DWS. See comparison swatches.

NARS Bavaria, Kamchatka, Namibia, Yamal Eyeshadows

NARS Bavaria Eyeshadow ($24.00 for 0.07 oz.) is described as a “deep sea blue.” It’s a muted, bluish-teal with a pale gold shimmer-sheen. It had decent color payoff, but it definitely needs to be patted on and built up on the lid. The texture was slightly stiff to work and didn’t blend easily with the other matte shades in this launch. theBalm Open to Offers Olwen is more intense, brighter. MAC Sky is similar. MAC Rain Drop is darker, greener. L’Oreal Endless Sea is very comparable. Guerlain Les Aquas #2 is lighter. Dior Blue Lagoon #4 is similar. Inglot #413 is more metallic, brighter. See comparison swatches.

NARS La Paz & Peloponesse Pure Matte Lipsticks

NARS La Paz Pure Matte Lipstick ($26.00 for 0.07 oz.) is described as an “orchid.” It’s a subdued, purpled berry with silver sparkle. It’s mostly opaque applied to the lips, and the consistency felt slightly drier than other Pure Matte lipsticks. I could feel a very slight grit from the sparkle when I was applying it, but I couldn’t feel it when I pressed my lips together. It lasted six hours well, but it was slightly drying after four hours of wear. NARS Never Say Never is lighter, less shimmery. MAC Yung Rapunxel is much darker. MAC Strong Woman is purpler. MAC Dish It Up is pinker, lighter. See comparison swatches.
