Chanel Olga, Cecile, Suzanne Rouge Coco Lipsticks

Chanel Rouge Coco Lipstick ($36.00 for 0.10 oz.) has been reinvented with a “renovated formula and vibrant colour spectrum.” Each shade is “inspired by Coco Chanel and her closest friends.” The formula is touted as “ultra hydrating,” “rich,” “bright,” and “luminous.” The texture is lightweight with moderate slip so it glides on without tugging. These were comfortable to wear, but they weren’t “ultra hydrating” to me, and the color payoff didn’t see vibrant, rich, or bright.

Sugarpill Mint Soda, Hug Life, Clickbait, Holy Ghost, Grand Tiara Loose Eyeshadows

Sugarpill Mint Soda Loose Eyeshadow ($13.00 for 0.19 oz.) is described as a “metallic mint with a sparkling gold sheen.” It’s a brightened golden chartreuse green with gold sparkle and a metallic finish. It had semi-opaque pigmentation when applied dry, while it intensified to mostly opaque pigmentation when applied with a dampened brush. The texture was soft, silky, and smooth, but there is a lot of sparkle to it, which I did see fall out with while worn, though the color didn’t fade for eight hours. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

Applied dry, it was semi-sheer, and applied damp, it was mostly opaque. It was a more buildable product rather than richly pigmented right out of the jar. The texture was very soft and silky, and it blended well on the skin. It wore well for eight hours before creasing slightly. Makeup Geek Caitlin Rose (P, $9.99) is darker, less metallic. Make Up For Ever D926 Blueberry (P, $21.00) is warmer. Makeup Geek Pop Culture (P, $5.99) is less metallic. theBalm #33 (P, $6.50) is more iridescent. Urban Decay Betrayal (LE, $18.00) is more iridescent. Urban Decay Omen (P, $18.00) is brighter. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
