Rant & Rave: Body Scrubs

This Week’s Topic: Body Scrubs

Share: Tell us what you love, hate, or are otherwise indifferent to about body scrubs! Always use it? Never use it? Effective?

my answer: I love ones that aren’t too coarse but aren’t too fine. I like when they stay solid enough that you can work them in, but then they dissolve as you do so, which helps me with timing!

Rant & Rave: Hand Cream

This Week’s Topic: Hand Cream

Share: Tell us what you love, hate, or are otherwise indifferent to about hand cream! Always use it? Never use it? Effective?

my answer: I love, LOVE hand cream, but I’m terrible at consistently using it. I constantly wash my hands, so sometimes it feels like a waste. I’m really trying to at least put it on before bed now.

Rant & Rave: Limited Edition Packaging

This Week’s Topic: Limited Edition Packaging

Share: Tell us what you love, hate, or are otherwise indifferent to about limited edition packaging. Do you prefer it? Does it matter?

my answer: I’m sure this sounds weird, but generally… I don’t like it. I like everything to match, so I think that’s a large part of it. The other part is that I think the kind of aesthetic I like best is rarely done. I really don’t like when a brand creates special boxes and ups the price, because for most of us, that’s something we’ll recycle.

Rant & Rave: Eyeshadow Pencils

This Week’s Topic: Eyeshadow Pencils

Share: Tell us what you love, hate, or are otherwise indifferent to about eyeshadow pencils–you know, kind that look like short, wide eyeliners? Better than a regular cream eyeshadow? Worse?

my answer: They have their place — I don’t think it’s a product I reach for as often as a cream eyeshadow, but they’re particular useful for traveling, since they can be used as both a cream eyeshadow as well as an eyeliner. It can be a risky formula, though, as some work well and others are disappointing.

Rant & Rave: Makeup Counters

This Week’s Topic: Makeup Counters

Share: Tell us what you love, hate, or are otherwise indifferent to about makeup counters. Fun to go to? Only if you really need something?

my answer: The experience always depends on the sales associate working. Generally, I’ve come to prefer shopping online, only because then I don’t feel compelled to buy anything because someone is nearby, hovering over my shoulder. I like being able to play with the products in-person, though.
