Rant & Rave: Sheer Lipgloss

This Week’s Topic: Sheer Lipgloss!

Your Mission: Tell us what you love, hate, or are otherwise indifferent to about sheer lipgloss. What drives you bananas? What makes them necessary?

my answer: They’re awesome for layering, but they can run together – they can just be so similar that it’s like, “oh, another sheer gloss?” They usually don’t wear as long either!

Rant & Rave: At-Home Hair Dye

This Week’s Topic: At-Home Hair Dye!

Your Mission: Tell us what you love, hate, or are otherwise indifferent to about at-home hair dye. What drives you bananas? What makes them necessary?

my answer: It’s been YEARS since I’ve used any. I just remember them being kind of messy and a PITA to make sure everything was cleaned up!

Rant & Rave: Potted Lip Balm

This Week’s Topic: Potted Lip Balm!

Your Mission: Tell us what you love, hate, or are otherwise indifferent to about potted lip balm. What drives you bananas? What makes them necessary?

my answer: They seem so unsanitary to me! I’d much rather something in a tube or stick. I do like the textures of potted lip balms, as they tend to be creamier!

Rant & Rave: Loose Glitter

This Week’s Topic: Loose Glitter!

Your Mission: Tell us what you love, hate, or are otherwise indifferent to about loose glitter. What drives you bananas? What makes them necessary?

my answer: Now that I have Lit Cosmetics’ glitter base, I LOVE it. Before it drove me nuts how pretty it was but how much effort it took to wear it! I wish it was easier to photograph, though – the awesomeness of glitter is hard to show in a still photo!

Rant & Rave: Drugstore Makeup

This Week’s Topic: Drugstore Makeup!

Your Mission: Tell us what you love, hate, or are otherwise indifferent to about drugstore makeup. What drives you bananas? What makes them necessary?

my answer: I love how much they’ve improved the quality in the past few years!  There are some really great products out there – but why is it that the ones that are really fantastic are limited edition or produced in small quantities and end up sold out?! What I don’t like is that it is still hard to find really great products… partially because there are a lot of misses still but also because you rarely can touch/play/feel with it prior to purchase.

Rant & Rave: High-End Makeup

This Week’s Topic: High-End Makeup!

Your Mission: Tell us what you love, hate, or are otherwise indifferent to about high-end makeup. What drives you bananas? What makes them necessary?

my answer: Relatively cheap way to indulge (hey, have you seen the price of a Chanel or Dior bag?), sometimes they do have really extraordinary textures or nuanced colors. Of course, when they bomb, it’s an even bigger disappointment than if you had paid half as much. High-end used to have better return policies than more budget-friendly brands, but it seems most brands have a good return policy these days.
