Four Easy Makeup Looks Using MAC Stars ‘n Rockets Eyeshadow

Match it with hot pinks for a bold and bright look that’s a little bit over the top, but totally fun!

With greens and blues for a truly fun combination that’s perfect for spring! (One of my all-time favorite looks!)

For springy pastels, Stars ‘n Rockets has the best mix of iridescence and color to brighten up any look.

On the lash line to complete any purple-themed eyeshadow combination. Plus, it has a good level of shimmer and brightness that it just might open up your peepers, too. Double-duty, hello!

What do you like to wear Stars ‘n Rockets with?

Quick look using Hello Kitty products! I really like the way this look looks from afar, because it’s not quite as flawless as I’d like it to be up-close so definitely make sure you see the full face photo before you judge! :) I do like the way black liner and Glamourpuss glitter liner look together, too.

You will need the following…

  • Eyes: Milk pigment (light lilac base), Yogurt eyeshadow (pale, pastel pink), Paradisco eyeshadow (melon-orange), Romping eyeshadow (fuchsia-purple), Stylin’ eyeshadow (dark purple), Creme Royale eyeshadow (golden highlighter), Kitty Power glitter eyeliner (pink), Glamourpuss glitter eyeliner (copper), Graphblack technakohl (black), Plushlash mascara (black)
  • Cheeks: Tippy blush (bright pink)
  • Lips: Most Popular lipstick (raspberry-pink), She Loves Candy lipglass (shimmery pink-gold)
  • Brushes: 266 (firm, angled brush), 226 (fluffy crease brush), 249 (flat, firm brush), 239 (fluffy shadow brush), 129 (dense blush brush)
  • Substitutes: Milk = Kitschmas; Romping = Hepcat; Stylin’ = Parfait Amour; Creme Royale = Nylon;

Directions: Define brows using a coordinating powder shadow applied with the 266 brush. Apply Milk pigment all over the lid as the base with the 249. On the inner lid, apply Yogurt eyeshadow using the 239. Apply Paradisco eyeshadow to the middle of the lid. Darken the outer lid using Romping eyeshadow with the 239. Darken crease with Stylin’ eyeshadow using the 226. Sweep Creme Royale eyeshadow underneath the brow bone to highlight. Finish with Graphblack technakohl on lower waterline and Glamourpuss glitter eyeliner on lower lash line. Line upper lash line with Kitty Power glitter liner, and finish with Plushlash mascara on lashes. Sweep apples of cheeks with Tippy blush using the 129, then highlight with Dior Rose Diamond. I thought I better do a Royal Tour trio look before I returned it! I’m spending the day with my sister, and I’m pretty sure we’ll be heading to the mall at some point in the afternoon, so I’d like to return some Dame Edna stuff–I just really was disappointed by some items I bought. We’re going to see Marley & Me, so I only wore this look briefly, because I just know I’ll be crying like a baby at least once during the movie–no need to have violet streaming down my face, LOL.

Oh! Oh!  I would like to say that the lips I used in this look are far brighter than I’d normally pair with this bold of an eye.  I really wanted to do *some* lip combo using the Dame Edna products, thus you have it ;)  You can also blot down the lipstick so it’s more of a stain before you put the gloss over it to make it less in-your-face.

What are you all doing for New Year’s Eve?! I ask today, because I know there are several international readers, so I’m sure your NYE is coming up just a lil’ faster than mine ;)

You will need the following…

  • Eyes: Violet pigment (violet base), Dame’s Desire eyeshadow (light purple), Royal Tour eyeshadow (medium purple with fuchsia), Climate Blue eyeshadow (blue-purple), Femme-fi eyeshadow (highlighter), Urban Decay Lust 24/7 Liner (purple), (Plushlash mascara (black)
  • Cheeks: Don’t Be Shy blush (cool pink)
  • Lips: Gladiola lipstick (purple-fuchsia), Hot Frost lipglass (medium pink)
  • Brushes: 266 (firm, angled brush), 249 (flat, firm brush), 239 (fluffy shadow brush), 129 (dense blush brush)
  • Substitutes: Dame’s Desire = Beautiful Iris; Royal Tour = Satellite Dreams; Climate Blue = Contrast; Femme-fi = Shroom; Don’t Be Shy = Well Dressed; Gladiola = Up the Amp + Girl About Town; Hot Frost = Cultured

Directions: Define brows using a coordinating powder shadow applied with the 266 brush. Apply Violet pigment all over the lid as the base with the 249. On the inner lid, apply Dame’s Desire eyeshadow using the 239. Apply Royal Tour eyeshadow to the middle of the lid. Darken the outer lid using Climate Blue packed on and drag into crease using the 239. Darken crease with Climate Blue eyeshadow using the 239. Sweep Femme-fi underneath the brow bone to highlight. Finish with Urban Decay Lust 24/7 Liner on lower lash line, and Plushlash mascara on lashes. Sweep apples of cheeks with Don’t Be Shy blush using the 129. Apply Gladiola lipstick to lips, and then top with Hot Frost lipglass for color and shine.

I wasn’t too happy with the way this turned out (especially photography-wise, something was off!), but on the positive side, I did use a color combination I haven’t done in some time (or maybe ever, my memory is pretty faulty!). I was aiming to do something different than my norm when it comes to pairing colors together. I guess that’s one of the great things about makeup: you can apply it, and if it doesn’t work, you can always take it off in thirty seconds!

You will need the following…

  • Eyes: Urban Decay Primer Potion, Urban Decay Baked eyeshadow (bronzy-gold), Urban Decay Last Call eyeshadow (plum-mauve), Urban Decay Mayhem eyeshadow (dark blue-purple), MAC Femme-fi eyeshadow (highlighter), Urban Decay Lust 24/7 Liner (purple), Plushlash mascara (black)
  • Cheeks: Gentle mineralize blush (soft raspberry)
  • Lips: YSL Lingerie Pink rouge volupte lipstick (cool pastel pink), MAC Tres Cher! lipglass (mauve)
  • Brushes: 266 (firm, angled brush), 249 (flat, firm brush), 239 (fluffy shadow brush), 129 (dense blush brush)
  • Substitutes: Gentle = Plum Foolery; Lingerie Pink = Snob; Tres Cher! = Nico

Directions: Define brows using a coordinating powder shadow applied with the 266 brush. Apply Urban Decay Primer Potion all over the lid as the base with the 249. On the inner lid, apply Baked eyeshadow using the 239 brush. Apply Last Call to the middle of the lid, overlaying it with Polar Opposites. Darken the outer lid using Mayhem and drag into crease using the 239. Sweep Femme-fi underneath the brow bone to highlight. Finish with Lust 24/7 Liner on lower lash line and smudge it with Mayhem eyeshadow using the 219, and Plushlash mascara on lashes. Sweep apples of cheeks with Gentle using the 129. Apply YSL Lingerie Pink lipstick to lips, and then top with Tres Cher! lipglass for color and shine.
