NYX Brown Sugar Lipstick
The Sultry Season: NYX Brown Sugar Lipstick
NYX Brown Sugar Round Lipstick ($4.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a rich bronzy, reddened brown with copper shimmer. It has opaque color coverage with a frosted finish, so it is less creamy than some other NYX Round Lipsticks I’ve tried, but on the plus side, lasts for four hours as compared to my usual two to three.
my thoughts on the formula: NYX Round Lipsticks are really creamy and generally opaque in color. The texture and shade range are great. However, the scent of them can run from waxy to synthetic sweetness (neither are particularly pleasant)–and sometimes they smell like nothing at all. I typically get two to three hours of wear.

final thoughts: If you tend to stay away from brown lipsticks for fear of wearing a more dated shade, this copper-shimmered brown is a modern take on a classic look.

The Sultry Season: NYX Hero Lipstick
NYX Hero Lipstick ($4.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a deepened neutral-cool blue-based red with a creamy, glossy finish and opaque color. My NYX Round Lipsticks seem to be scent-free overall, but I do have a few that were brand new and smelled a little on the plastic side, while a couple had more of a general perfume-y feel. I’m not entirely sure why there is so much variation across the board! I love the texture and feel of their Round Lipsticks, though; incredibly creamy and the darker shades are certainly quite pigmented. They do have a fair amount of slip, so they may bleed if you’re prone to to that, and I don’t find they last more than two to three hours, with darker shades on the three hour side and some leaving behind a soft stain.

The Summer Season: NYX Chloe Lipstick
NYX Chloe Lipstick ($4.00) is a darkened fuchsia-red with iridescent violet-fuchsia sheen. This is definitely a bold, bright shade with a frosty finish. I could see this shade working really well with some thick, retro liquid liner. I didn’t notice any scent on mine, but the taste is a little waxy, but I wasn’t particularly bothered by it (I rarely get any taste of my lip products other than when I taste deliberately for a review!). It’s a nice pop of color for under $5!
