NARS Taj Mahal Blush

NARS Taj Mahal Blush ($29.00 for 0.16 oz.) is described as a “blazing burnt orange with golden shimmer.” It’s a bold, vibrant orange with a hint of red and a golden shimmer-sheen. Wet ‘n’ Wild Golden Goddess is more subdued, browner. MAC Center of the Universe is also more muted and browner. MAC My Paradise is more coral/red. Jasmine Rajah (which is an eyeshadow) is very similar but has a subtler golden sheen.

5 Must-Have Shimmery Blushes

5 Must-Have Shimmery Blushes

This was a tough one, because I wanted to have diversity in color, and preferably, diversity in brand, too.  ‘Cause let me tell you, there were 239847234 corals I’d love to have included, too.

  1. Le Metier de Beaute Echo — coral-orange with a golden shimmer-sheen; lovely texture and wear
  2. NARS Taj Mahal — golden shimmered orange; lots of great warmth, plenty of pigment
  3. Benefit Bella Bamba — medium-dark pink with a subtle shimmer-sheen; very wearable, buildable
  4. theBalm Cabana Boy — shimmered plum; simple, wearable, beautiful on
  5. Tom Ford Wicked — subtly blue-based medium-dark pink with a shimmer-sheen; long-wearing and super soft

5 Truly Orange Blushes

5 Truly Orange Blushes

It’s summer — one of the best ways to add color to any look with ease is through a good blush. Tangerine is no doubt in this year, but how about some orange?  Benefit Cha Cha Cha is the closest you’ll find here for a tamer shade of orange.

  1. NARS Liberte — burnt orange
  2. Make Up For Ever #12 — light-medium orange with a gold sheen
  3. NARS Taj Mahal — pop of orange with soft orange shimmer
  4. Benefit Cha Cha Cha — tint of orange-coral
  5. NARS Exhibit A — matte red-orange

What’s your favorite orange blush?

NARS Taj Mahal Blush

When worn lightly, it can be a beautiful shade of lightened peach-orange with a golden shimmer-sheen.  It looks absolutely gorgeous on warmer skin tones, especially those with deeper complexions.  It can, quite obviously, be built up for a very intense look, if so desired.  Texture is soft, smooth, and the blush looks luminous when applied to skin.  It gives skin an added warmth and subtle glow from the shimmer-sheen, and if you go easy, it’s very, very wearable and flattering.
