NARS Majella Satin Lip Pencil
NARS Majella Satin Lip Pencil ($25.00 for 0.07 oz.) is described as “garnet.” It’s a deeper red with cool, blue undertones and a subtle, natural-looking sheen. Rimmel #111 is more orange-toned. MAC Runaway Red is darker. MAC Eden Rouge is slightly brighter. MAC Russian Red is more matte and a bit darker. NARS Mascate is deeper and darker.
It had great pigmentation that applied with opaque , even color. Majella wore well for a full six hours, and being that it’s a red, it did leave behind a stain that was rather potent for another hour or so. Even after eight hours, my lips still looked redder than normal. It was slightly hydrating though not quite as moisture-packed as NARS described, but it did last for awhile and didn’t dry out lips. I didn’t experience any feathering or bleeding of the color, and I didn’t see the color settle into lip lines over time or as it wore away. It had a lightweight, thin consistency despite the actual feel of the product–it is soft, almost as if it were melting, when it touched my lips.

| As long as you only need some hydration while it is worn, Majella is well worth a look--rich in color with a lovely feel and consistency, plus it's long-wearing. | |
