NARS Amour Blush

NARS Amour Blush ($28.00 for 0.16 oz.) is described as a “peachy pink.” It’s a darkened pink-tinted coral. It doesn’t read peachy-pink to me, which tends to be a lighter, warmer color. The finish is matte. Illamasqua Dixie is brighter, less pink. Tarte Blissful is more orange, slightly lighter/softer. theBalm Frat Boy is slightly lighter. MAC Posey is very close, perhaps pinker. MAC Fleet Fast is more coral and has golden orange shimmer. On my cheeks, it looks more pink than coral, but it’s not strictly pink.

NARS Liberte Blush

NARS Liberte Blush ($28.00 for 0.16 oz.) is described as a “burnished apricot.” It’s a burnt orange-red with a very subtle sheen. Fans of NARS Exhibit A will probably enjoy this–it’s just a bit darker, more muted compared to Exhibit A. It’s not as bright; it reads softer, and the subtle sheen gives it a more luminous look on the cheeks. MAC My Paradise has a similar feel, though it is a touch lighter.

NARS Gaiety Blush

NARS Gaiety Blush ($28.00 for 0.16 oz.) is described as a “bright candy pink.” It’s a light-medium cotton candy pink; it has a strong blue base, so it reads cool-toned. It has decent to good color payoff, but it tends to need layering and building to achieve color if you are light-medium or darker. Compared to some of NARS’ other blushes, which may be considered hyper-pigmented, it is rather soft and you won’t need a light hand with it.  It has a natural matte finish, which means it doesn’t look totally flat but still looks mostly matte against the skin. MAC Azalea Blossom is darker and purpler. I don’t think I own NARS Desire, which seems like it may not be quite as cool-toned. NARS Angelika has less of a blue-base, is more of a medium pink, and includes sparkle.

NARS New Order Blush

NARS New Order Blush ($27.00 for 0.16 oz.) is described as a “soft pink with gold and silver glitter.” It’s actually listed as a “Highlighting Blush Powder,” which is important to note because then the pigmentation level here will be “soft” as described, rather than the intense pigment expected of NARS’ blushes. When NARS says glitter, they really mean it–the glitter flecks here are large and in charge. I found them incredibly noticeable on my cheeks, and later on, I found glitter in my brows and on my chin.
