Michelle Williams @ 84th Annual Academy Awards

Michelle Williams walked the red carpet at the 84th Annual Academy Awards held in Hollywood, CA on February 26th.

My inspiration was a flower! When I saw Michelle in her stunning dress, it made me think of a beautiful rose I have in my garden. Like that flower, she looked so gorgeous and delicate, so I decided to use an array of Spring hues! — Celebrity makeup artist Angel Levin

I began by hydrating her skin with a light layer of CHANEL Sublimage La Creme Texture Supreme ($390.00).  Next, I used CHANEL Quadra Eyeshadow in Mystic Eyes ($58.00), using half moon strokes on the lids to maintain a round, soft feeling. For an added pop of glamour, I placed a bit of CHANEL Soft Touch Eye Shadow in Tigerlily ($28.50) on her lids. Under the eyes, I used the darkest color, the neutral deep brown with gold flecks shade, from CHANEL Quadra Eyeshadow in Mystic Eyes ($58.00).  CHANEL Sculpting Eyebrow Pencil in Blond Clair ($29.00).

To further enhance Michelle’s already gorgeous skin, I applied CHANEL Vitalumière Aqua Compact ($58.00 – Available March 19 on chanel.com) for a hydrated, flawless, revitalized and radiant look. For the cheeks, I applied my favorite new cheek color, Exclusive Creation Blush Horizon de CHANEL ($58.00). To accentuate the natural contours of Michelle’s face, I lightly added CHANEL Limited Edition Natural Finish Pressed Powder in Jasmin ($45.00) to her cheeks. I also added this to her shoulders for a slight highlight as well.  To the top and bottom lashes, I applied two coats of CHANEL Inimitable Mascara in Noir ($30.00).

For Michelle’s bright, purpley-pink lips, I mixed two CHANEL Rouge Coco Shades from CHANEL’s Spring collection: Rouge Coco Lip Colour in Paradis, a pink coral with Rouge Coco Lip Colour in Destineé, a spring plum (each $32.00).

69th Annual Golden Globe Awards: Michelle Williams

A look at Michelle Williams as she walked the red carpet at the 69th Annual Golden Globe Awards held at the Beverly Hilton hotel in Beverly Hills, California on January 15th, 2012.  Her makeup was done by makeup artist Angela Levin for Chanel. Angela created this classic beauty look on Michelle Williams, stating “my inspiration was a gorgeous Golden Globe winner!”

Makeup Breakdown

Angela started the makeup application with cleaning the skin with CHANEL Lotion Douceur Gentle Hydrating Toner using a sponge instead of cotton. She then applied a thin layer of CHANEL Ultra Correction Lift Intensive Lifting Concentrate on her face, Angels Makeup Collagen Treatment under her eyes, and placed CHANEL Sublimage La Creme Texture Supreme on her cheeks and neck.

For this red carpet makeup look Angela applied CHANEL Vitalumiere Aqua Ultra-Light Skin Perfecting Makeup SPF 15 in Beige-Pastel on the face and eye lids, as a base. On the eyes, she used the grey shadow shades from the CHANEL Quadra Eyeshadow in Smoky Eyes to create a light smoky effect on the upper lid, then adding CHANEL Long-Lasting Eyeliner in Black Shimmer to the top lash. Angela then defined the brows with CHANEL Sculpting Eyebrow Pencil in Blond Clair and added two coats of CHANEL Inimitable Mascara in Noir on the top and bottom lashes. On Michelle’s cheeks she applied CHANEL Powder Blush in Rose Ecrin that gave a perfect flush, and completed the look with CHANEL Rouge Coco Hydrating Crème Lip Colour in Perle.

Michelle Williams @ MET Ball 2011

Michelle Williams had her makeup done by celebrity makeup artist Jeanine Lobell, and she said, “The gold birds on Michelle’s dress really inspired us to go for a golden look… We wanted something chic, but a little edgy to offset the black of the dress. We felt a modern ‘golden smoky eye’ would be cool and fresh, but not washed out.”

Makeup How-to

I started by applying with my fingers, CHANEL Vitalumière Aqua Ultra-Light Skin Perfecting Makeup SPF 15 in Beige-Pastel very lightly all over the face and under the eyes; then I set it with the CHANEL Natural Finish Pressed Powder in Clair – Translucent 1.

For her eyes, I used the CHANEL Quadra Eyeshadow in Mystic Eyes applying the palest shade all over they eye area to act as a base so I was able to smoothly blend the other shades into it. I then applied the softer of the brown shades in the crease of the eye, wrapping it as a smoky liner under the eye. Then I added the darker brown shade in the upper lash line. I used CHANEL Long-Lasting Eyeliner in Espresso inside the eye and as a sharper line on the top eyelash line. Lastly, I used CHANEL Inimitable Intense Mascara in Noir on the top and bottom lashes.

I used the CHANEL Precision Brow Definer in Soft Brown in the brows, above the brow to the outside of the brow, to create an arch and filling in below and on the inside.

I used CHANEL Powder Blush in Tempting Beige, as it works great as a contouring cheek color. I used it under the cheek bone, fanning it up over apples of cheeks. For her lips, I used CHANEL Rouge Coco Shine Hydrating Sheer Lipshine in Canotier for a pale, beige-gold light wash on the lips to keep everything soft and balanced.

Michelle Williams @ 2011 Oscars

Michelle Williams @ 2011 Oscars

Michelle Williams arrives at the 2011 Oscars on Sunday, February 27th. Celebrity makeup artist Jeanine Lobell said, “My inspiration was Michelle’s stunning CHANEL 2011 Spring/Summer Haute Couture gown. The dress represented Michelle’s personality – ethereal and sparkling.”

“Michelle’s skin is so fresh and beautiful. I applied CHANEL Vitalumiere Aqua Ultra Light Skin Perfecting Makeup in B10, which allows her skin to shine though the makeup, creating a fresh look. I set the makeup with CHANEL Natural Finished Press Pressed Powder in Translucent 1. For eyes, we went for a light, ethereal smoky look mixing the shades in the CHANEL Quadra Eyeshadow in Smoky Eyes. I used the silvery shade as a base, and then used the pewter shade, taking it from the lash line up into the crease, adding shape to the eye. I then smudged the same shade in the lower lash line. I used the black shade, blended into the pewter, as a liner. I applied a few individual lashes in the center, and a lot of CHANEL Inimitable Waterproof Mascara in Noir on the top and bottom. I used the CHANEL Precision Brow Definer in Blond Claire to define the brow. To create a glowing pink cheek, I applied CHANEL Blush Duo Tweed Effect in Pink Tweed. I mixed her lip colour, CHANEL Rouge Coco Lip Colour in Rose Dentelle, with a bit of the Vitalumiere Aqua foundation, which creates the effect of the lips blending into the face.”

Michelle Williams @ 2011 Golden Globe Awards

Michelle Williams @ 68th Golden Globe Awards

Michelle Williams has always been a favorite of mine, and I’m actually loving the coral lip on her.  Hope we can find out what she’s wearing!

Makeup How-to

“We were inspired by the classic beauty of Jean Seberg and Mia Farrow. Luminous fresh skin was key, and a super lashed eye gave a nod to those classic beauties. A fresh coral lip kept the look modern and new.” — Jeanine Lobell

“As a base, I used a new foundation from CHANEL, Vitalumiere Aqua in B10 (available in March). It’s a super light, sheer formula with great coverage.  On Michelle’s cheeks, I used CHANEL Powder Blush in Espiegle, a beautiful shimmery pink-coral.  Her eyes were Kevyn Aucoin Essential Eye Shadow Palette #2, and applied two coats of Kevyn Aucoin Lash Curler Volume Mascara.  I set her brows with CHANEL Perfect Brows.  Finally, on her lips I used CHANEL Rouge Coco Lip Colour in Chalys.”
