MAC Beiges, Whites, Highlighter Eyeshadow Swatches
This finishes up all of the swatches I have of permanent eyeshadows – I will try to purchase the shades I do not own soon and get those swatches up as well.
Dazzlelight is a soft beige white with a hint of warmth. It has a veluxe pearl finish. The color payoff is good with a soft, smooth texture. It is similar to Bare Escentuals Serendipitous. It’s kind of like MAC Brule in a frosted form. Mylar is an ivory white with a mostly matte finish. It has a satin finish. It can look a little chalky because of its finish and color, though the payoff is good and application is smooth. It is similar to Inglot #351. Phloof! is a light pinky-beige with a frost finish. It has good color payoff and applies smoothly. It is a little less warm compared to theBalm Hiii-Yaaa!. Vanilla is a soft, creamy light beige with a nearly matte finish. It has a velvet finish. It’s very soft and easy to work with and has good pigmentation. It is similar to Inglot #353. Vellum is an iridescent white with bluish-violet shimmer-sheen. It has a lustre finish. The color payoff is decent but not great, though the uniqueness of the shade tends to make it worth the effort. Vex is a grayish-beige-pink with a tinge of olive-green to it. It has a frost finish. It has good color payoff, and it’s one of the more unique shades by MAC. Bare Escentual’s Urban Nature cream eyeshadow is similar.
White Frost is a shimmery soft white with poor color payoff, though it still has a smooth feel. It has a frost finish.
If you use these more as highlighters, then decent color payoff isn't so bad, because you don't necessarily one a really opaque white highlighter either. The texture on this set was good overall.

I was just playing around, and I wasn’t sure if I was going to post this, but some reader encouragement helped After seeing several readers mention Vex on yesterday’s post about Bare Escentual’s Urban Nature, I figured I’d try it. And then I just couldn’t help reaching for Jealousy Wakes… The green tones of Urban Nature brought out the green in the shadow (rather than the slight bluish nature of it) — which is what I wanted, something that is so on the edge of green that it’ll integrate well with other shadows.
Substitutes: Jealousy Wakes = Emerald Green (it is the closest I can think of, but it pulls yellow)
For eyes, start by applying Urban Nature all over the lid and above the crease with the 242 to lay down your eyeshadow base. Lightly press Vex eyeshadow onto the inner half of the lid with the 239. Then apply Jealousy Wakes eyeshadow on the outer third of the lid and into the crease with the 239. Blend Vex eyeshadow by pulling lightly towards the outer lid with the 239. Apply Vanilla eyeshadow on the brow bone to highlight and soften the edge of the crease. Next, apply Gilded White liner on the lower waterline and #20 liner on the lower lash line, and then smudge with Jealousy Wakes eyeshadow. Coat lashes with Film Noir mascara to finish the look.
For cheeks, apply Aurora on the apples of the cheeks and sweep towards the temple with the 116.
For lips, apply #2 lipgloss for a complementing lip.
I did this look using some of Korres’ highlighted products for summer — #42 Eyeshadow (a beautiful summery green) and #45 Coral Lipstick (a moisturizing orange-coral with a glossy sheen). I also used several other Korres products to bring it all together, but this was the first time I’ve really done a full look using just Korres products. I loved the blendability of the eyeshadows–smooth, pigmented, and easy to use–and the coverage of the Wild Rose foundation was a nice and buildable.
As you can tell, I was test-driving quite a few products in this look — the eyeshadows, eyeliner, mascara, blush, and foundation!
For eyes, start by applying Stay Don’t Stray as your eyeshadow base all over the eye area with the 249. Using the 239, apply #44 eyeshadow on the lower lid. Apply #42 Eyeshadow on the middle of the lid with the 239 brush. Next, apply #84 eyeshadow into the crease with the 226, lightly blending outwards and onto the outer lid. Blend Vanilla eyeshadow with the crease shade and highlight the brow bone. Bring everything together by applying #12 eyeliner on the lower lash line. Finish by sweeping lashes with Abysinnia mascara.
For cheeks, apply #44 Coral blush to the apples of the cheeks and sweep upwards towards the temple with the 116.
For lips, apply #45 Coral lipstick first, and then layer #33 Nude lipgloss for a complementing lip.
For eyes, start by applying Stay Don’t Stray as your eyeshadow base all over the eye area with the 249. Using the 239, apply Seedy Pearl eyeshadow on the lower lid. Next, apply Shale eyeshadow into the crease with the 226, lightly blending outwards and upwards to fade to the brow bone. With the 239, apply Plum Dressing eyeshadow into the crease directly and then blended towards the outer corner and lid. Blend Vanilla eyeshadow with the crease shade and highlight the brow bone. Bring everything together by applying Almost Noir eyeliner on the lower lash line and finish by sweeping lashes with Opulash mascara.
For cheeks, apply Pink Rebels lustre drops on the apples and upper cheekbones. Then, lightly apply Hipness blush to the apples of the cheeks and sweep upwards towards the temple with the 116.
For lips, apply Sweetie lipstick first, and then layer Mauve Accent ultra gloss for a complementing lip.
Easy look using the Fafi Eyes #1 Quad Tutorial on its way! BTW, my lashes are yucky because the Zoomlash I used had dried out (and I didn’t want to remove for fear of ruining the look!).
I used Perky paint pot on lid, Hey eyeshadow on inner lid, Pink Venus eyeshadow on middle of lid, Howzat eyeshadow on outer lid and crease, Vanilla eyeshadow on brow, Hey eyeshadow above crease, Nice Vice paint pot on outer crease, Hey eyeshadow on lower lash line, Howzat eyeshadow on outer lower lash line, and Smolder kohl on lower lash line. I wore Fashion Frenzy blush on cheeks with Belightful iridescent powder to highlight. I had Flash ‘N Dash lipstick with Cult Fave lipglass on my lips.
