Just a simple look for the weekend. I felt like wearing something a little spring-y, so I wanted to use yellow in the look somewhere, and this is what came out. I was originally thinking more Easter-egg-y (yellow, pink, purple), but maybe next time. :)

You will need the following…

  • Eyes: Soft Ochre paint pot (neutral base), Sugarshot eyeshadow (frosty off white), Going Bananas eyeshadow (frosty lemon-yellow), Flip eyeshadow (peachy-gold), Beauty Burst eyeshadow (reddish brown), Urban Decay Underground 24/7 Liner (dark brown), Femme-fi eyeshadow (soft neutral highlighter), Zoomlash mascara (black)
  • Cheeks: Don’t Be Shy blush (soft cool pink), Dior Rose Diamond Skin Shimmer (pink highlighter)
  • Lips: Saint Germain lipstick (cool pink with purple undertones), Tartlette liglass (coral)
  • Brushes: 266 (firm, angled brush), 226 (fluffy crease brush), 214 (smudge brush), 249 (flat, firm brush), 239 (fluffy shadow brush), 129 (dense blush brush)
  • Substitutes: Sugarshot = Phloof!; Going Bananas = Bright Sunshine; Flip = Romp; Beauty Burst = Twinks; Don’t Be Shy = Well Dressed; Saint Germain = Pink Nouveau; Tartlette = Lychee Luxe

Directions: Define brows using a coordinating powder shadow applied with the 266 brush. Apply Soft Ochre paint pot all over the lid as the base with the 249. On the inner lid, apply Sugarshot eyeshadow using the 239. Apply Going Bananas eyeshadow to the middle of the lid. Darken the outer lid using Flip eyeshadow using the 239. Darken crease with Beauty Burst eyeshadow using the 226. Sweep Femme-fi eyeshadow underneath the brow bone to highlight. Finish with Urban Decay Underground Liner on lower lash line, and Zoomlash mascara on lashes. Sweep apples of cheeks with Don’t Be Shy blush using the 129, then highlight with Dior Rose Diamond Skin Shimmer with the 188. Apply Saint Germain lipstick to lips, and then top with Tartlette lipglass for color and shine.

Saint Germain Lipstick topped with Tartlette Lipglass

I know how many of you were skeptical (if not “totally over it”) about Saint Germain lipstick (releasing with Sugarsweet). I am here to tell you it’s workable, and beyond workable, it makes for the prettiest pink lip combination. Something about the combination reminds me of pink lemonade and summertime, but you know I’ll rock it even though it’s spring. Besides, it’s a warm day with the sun shining… it works :)

Tartlette lipglass was a limited edition lipglass, but it’s very similar to Lychee Luxe lipglass (permanent) and Pink Grapefruit lipglass (limited, but more recent) works in its place, too. If you have none of the both, for color reference, Tartlette is a orangey-coral shimmery shade with decent pigmentation but not super opaque.

So, I might not be able to wear Saint Germain all by its lonesome self, it definitely has lots of possibilities when paired with lipgloss. (And let’s face it, I rarely wear lipstick by itself–it’s all about layering!)

What do you think? Will you give Saint Germain a look-see?

Sorry about the lack of looks lately! When your face resembles something from the swamp, the last thing you want to do is prettify your eyes, only to have your face ruin the look. :( I still managed to do a few, though! But more or less, I want to wear less makeup over more to do everything I can to speed up the healing process!

You will need the following…

  • Eyes: Too Faced Shadow Insurance (neutral base), Laura Mercier Tuxedo Palette (shimmery white), Silver Ring eyeshadow (silver), Shimmermoss eyeshadow (teal), Deep Truth eyeshadow (dark blue), Urban Decay Covet 24/7 Liner (teal), Dazzlelash mascara (black)
  • Cheeks: Enough Said blush (soft peach)
  • Lips: Strawberry Blonde lipstick (pink-coral), Tartlette lipglass (coral-pink)
  • Brushes: 266 (firm, angled brush), 249 (flat, firm brush), 239 (fluffy shadow brush), 129 (dense blush brush)
  • Substitutes: LM Tuxedo Palette (shimmery white) = White Frost; Enough Said = bronzer; Strawberry Blonde = Skew; Tartlette = Lychee Luxe

Directions: Define brows using a coordinating powder shadow applied with the 266 brush. Apply Too Faced Shadow Insurance all over the lid as the base with the 249. On the inner lid, apply shimmery white eyeshadow from the Tuxedo palette using the 239. Apply Silver Ring eyeshadow to the middle of the lid. Darken the outer lid using Shimmermoss eyeshadow and drag into crease using the 239. Darken crease with Deep Truth eyeshadow using the 239. Sweep the shimmery white eyeshadow underneath the brow bone to highlight. Finish with Urban Decay Covet 24/7 Liner on lower lash line, and Plushlash mascara on lashes. Sweep apples of cheeks with Enough Said blush using the 129. Apply Strawberry Blonde lipstick to lips, and then top with Tartlette lipglass for color and shine.

As promised, here’s a look using the holiday ’08 warm eyes palette :) For those wondering, I really do not think Femme Noir looks anything like Grand Entrance. Femme Noir is almost a black-green on me, but it’s an olive, muted green. Grand Entrance is a rich forest green.

You will need the following…

  • Eyes: Old Gold pigment (green-gold base), Goldmine eyeshadow (true gold), Warm Suede eyeshadow (brown with green tint), Grand Entrance eyeshadow (dark forest green), Carbon eyeshadow (black), Sweet Joy eyeshadow (soft beige-peach), Prescriptives Blue Grotto Kohl (green-blue), Plushlash mascara (black)
  • Cheeks: Enough Said blush (soft peachy)
  • Lips: Quiet Please lipstick (sheer beige), Tartlette lipglass (coral-pink)
  • Brushes: 266 (firm, angled brush), 249 (flat, firm brush), 239 (fluffy shadow brush), 129 (dense blush brush)
  • Substitutes: Warm Suede = Sumptuous Olive; Grand Entrance = Femme Noir + Humid; Sweet Joy = Ricepaper; Enough Said = bronzer; Quiet Please = Fresh Brew; Tartlette = Lychee Luxe

Directions: Define brows using a coordinating powder shadow applied with the 266 brush. Apply Old Gold pigment all over the lid as the base with the 249. On the inner third of the lid, apply Goldmine eyeshadow using the 239. Apply Warm Suede to the middle of the lid. Darken the outer lid using Grand Entrance eyeshadow and drag into crease using the 239. Deepen crease with Carbon eyeshadow by pulling it into the crease. Sweep Sweet Joy eyeshadow underneath the brow bone to highlight. Finish with Prescriptives’ Blue Grotto kohl on lower lash line, and Plushlash mascara on lashes. Sweep apples of cheeks with Enough Said blush using the 129, then highlight with Soft & Gentle mineralize skinfinish using the 188. Apply Quiet Please lipstick to lips, and then top with Tartlette lipglass for color and shine.

Just had some fun playing around with the mineralize duos and went for something more over the top than anything else ;) I wanted to see how the green would play over a very green base. I also picked up two new duos and two new blushes to play with, which I’ll share with you later today or tomorrow :) (I have to work on my final draft of my argument to hand in tomorrow, so…!)

It’s Tuesday, and I’m feeling lazy as ever – all I want to do is play some Guitar Hero and bug Mellan. How are you guys pushing through the week?

I used True Chartreuse pigment on lid, Fresh Green Mix mineralize eyeshadow (solid side) (LE) all over lid, Shimmermoss eyeshadow on outer lid/crease, Sea & Sky mineralize eyeshadow (solid side) (LE) above crease, Gorgeous Gold eyeshadow above crease, Nylon eyeshadow to highlight brow, Graphblack technakohl on lower lash line, and Plushlash mascara on lashes. I had Warm Soul mineralize blush (LE) on cheeks. I wore Soft Lust lipstick (LE) with Tartlette lipglass (LE) on my lips.

** These are recommendations for dupes based on permanent colors available — may not necessarily be identical; they are the closest I can think of!

Fresh Green Mix = Bitter; Sea & Sky = Freshwater; Warm Soul = Honour; Soft Lust = Sandy B; Tartlette = Lychee Luxe
