MAC Silly Lipstick
MAC Silly Lipstick ($15.00 for 0.10 oz.) is described as a “bright pink cream.” It’s a brightened, medium pink with a barely-there sheen that turns mostly matte after a half hour of wear. It has subtle blue undertones but doesn’t pull too cool-toned such that it borders on lavender. Chanel Kensington is darker and more luminous. NYX Pink Lyric is also darker and has a glossier shine. MAC Divine Choice is lighter. MAC Pink Nouveau is cooler-toned–bluer. MAC Naughty Saute is also bluer-based.
Silly has opaque color coverage that looks even and smooth. There’s a subtle sheen after it is initially applied, but it definitely fades away quickly and leaves behind a very matte finish. It has a lightly creamy consistency that made it so the color didn’t drag when I applied it, but it doesn’t feel heavy when worn and it clings to lips (but not in a drying, clingy kind of way) to help the color adhere better and longer. I plan to test this shade late this afternoon (I just put on the Lipglass), so I’ll update with a specific wear time after I’ve finished testing it, but based on prior experience with MAC’s formula and this finish, I would expect five hours of wear or so.
