Look – Stila Gold Glow Trio and Subdued Red Lips

Monday, September 1st, 2008

This look is from yesterday, and I wore to go see my parents. The boy, Mellan, and I headed up for lunch and dinner, for a bunch of grilled food. (Mmm, Korean BBQ ribs!!) Oh, and lots and lots of swimming ;) I really liked how Cult of Cherry added pop to Lightly Ripe, but not TOO much. I think it’s a great way to wear some red during the day (or for those still warming up to red!). And can I just say how much I love UD’s 24/7 Liners? Yes, love, love, LOVE.

You will need the following…

  • Eyes: Stila Gold Glow Trio, Stila Bronze Smudge Pot, Urban Decay Honey 24/7 Liner, MAC Plushlash mascara (black)
  • Cheeks: MAC Dainty mineralize blush (soft peachy pink)
  • Lips: MAC Lightly Ripe lipstick (deeper pink), Cult of Cherry lipglass (red shimmer)
  • Brushes: 266 (firm, angled brush), 249 (flat, firm brush), 239 (fluffy shadow brush), 129 (dense blush brush)
  • Substitutes: Dainty = Fleur Power; Lightly Ripe = Syrup; Cult of Cherry = Russian Red

Directions: Define brows using a coordinating powder shadow applied with the 266 brush. Apply Soft Ochre paint pot all over the lid as the base with the 249. On the inner-to-middle lid, apply the lighest shadow of the Stila trio using the 239. Apply the coppery color of the Stila trio to the middle of the lid. Darken the outer lid using the darkest color of the Stila trio and drag into crease using the 239. Sweep the lighest color of the Stila trio underneath the brow bone to highlight. Finish with Urban Decay Honey 24/7 Liner on lower lash line, and Plushlash mascara on lashes. Sweep apples of cheeks with Dainty using the 129. Apply Lightly Ripe lipstick to lips, and then top with Cult of Cherry lipglass for color and shine.

Looks – Chartreuse and Teals

Tuesday, August 26th, 2008

OMG, I was hit by a nasty, nasty bug on Sunday afternoon. I probably caught it on the plane, but who knows. All I know is that it sucks something awful, and I really wish it would go away. I feel miserable, incredibly groggy and sleepy all-freaking-day-long, and whiny! I think my boyfriend is on the verge of going insane. A sick Christine is NOT good for anybody. I did this look on Monday, but I completely dozed off, though I totally meant to post it earlier. I swear!

You will need the following…

  • Eyes: Soft Ochre paint pot (creamy neutral base), Dreammaker eyeshadow (white-gold), Sharp eyeshadow (chartreuse), Cool Heat eyeshadow (blue-teal), Graphblack technakohl (black), Plushlash mascara (black)
  • Cheeks: Suncentered Colour Forms powder (peach)
  • Lips: Soft Lust lipstick (frosty champagne), Rich & Ripe lipglass (red-coral)
  • Brushes: 266 (firm, angled brush), 249 (flat, firm brush), 239 (fluffy shadow brush), 129 (dense blush brush)
  • Substitutes: Dreammaker = Nylon; Sharp = Sour Lemon; Cool Heat = Electric Eel; Suncentered = Peachykeen; Soft Lust = High Tea; Rich & Ready = Lust

Directions: Define brows using a coordinating powder shadow applied with the 266 brush. Apply Soft Ochre paint pot all over the lid as the base with the 249. On the inner lid, apply Dreammaker eyeshadow using the 239. Apply Sharp to the middle of the lid, then overlay the outer lid with Cool Heat eyeshadow. Drag Cool Heat eyeshadow into crease using the 239. Sweep Dreammaker underneath the brow bone to highlight. Finish with Graphblack technakohl on lower lash line, and Plushlash mascara on lashes. Sweep apples of cheeks with Suncentered using the 129. Apply Soft Lust lipstick to lips, and then top with Rich & Ripe lipglass for color and shine.

Looks – Summery Teals

Wednesday, August 20th, 2008

As someone who isn’t scared of heights, the zipline wasn’t as exhilerating as I thought it would be. I think I had more of a “thrill ride” while horseback riding! It wasn’t bad, but I don’t think I need to do it again. I did this look late in the day (probably 4pm or so), and I figured I’d go bolder than I have been! Today’s my last day to bum around Hawaii – tomorrow I fly back home. I miss my baby boy and my boyfriend terribly, so I’m eager to return home after being away for a week :)

You will need the following…

  • Eyes: Cocomotion pigment (metallic brown base), Rye eyeshadow (antique gold), Mink & Sable eyeshadow (olive green), Gulf Stream eyeshadow (teal), Ricepaper eyeshadow (neutral highlighter), Feline kohl power (black), Plushlash mascara (black)
  • Cheeks: Margin blush (dirty pink)
  • Lips: Strawberry Blonde lipstick (pink), C-thru lipglass (nude)
  • Brushes: 266 (firm, angled brush), 249 (flat, firm brush), 239 (fluffy shadow brush), 129 (dense blush brush)
  • Substitutes: Cocomotion = Tan; Rye = Romp; Mink & Sable = Sumptuous Olive; Gulf Stream = Shimmermoss; Strawberry Blonde = Sweetie

Directions: Define brows using a coordinating powder shadow applied with the 266 brush. Apply Cocomotion pigment all over the lid as the base with the 249. Apply Rye eyeshadow to inner third of the lid using the 239 brush. Follow by applying Mink & Sable eyeshadow to the middle of the lid. Darken outer lid with Gulf Stream eyeshadow. Apply Gulf Stream eyeshadow into outer crease to deepen, using the 239. Soften harsh lines with Rye eyeshadow swept above crease. Highlight brow with Ricepaper eyeshadow. Line lower lash line with Feline kohl power. Sweep apples of cheeks with Margin blush using the 129. Apply Strawberry Blonde lipstick to lips, and then top with C-thru lipglass for color and shine.

Looks – Sunny Yellows and Oranges

Tuesday, August 19th, 2008

The horseback ride was pretty nice, though I can certainly feel it today! I call it the “Triangle of Pain,” because you feel it on about three points at the seat of your pants. It’s not fun. I’m praying that the Zipline harness doesn’t overlap those points, because I imagine the harness itself might make me a bit sore, too! I told the boy that when I came home, I’d be an “Octagon of Pain.” Hawaii’s been great for the most part, but I haven’t slept well at all, so it’s starting to take a toll on me! I keep going to bed and getting that sleep where you wake up 20 times, and each time you do, you feel like you never even went to sleep at all!

The look I’m sharing with you today is what I wore to go horseback riding. It seemed like it was going to be a good day, weather-wise, and sure enough, perfect! Breezy and not too humid or hot aka my makeup wouldn’t slide off the first step I took outside. Today, I’m going to go pretty bare-faced for the Zipline adventure (we picked the 8am time slot), but I’ll put on my “real” face later, LOL.

You will need the following…

  • Eyes: Soft Ochre paint pot (creamy neutral base), Going Bananas eyeshadow (frosty yellow), Fab & Flashy eyeshadow (frosty orange), Bold & Brazen eyeshadow (bronze with pink), Dark Edge eyeshadow (matte dark brown), Ricepaper eyeshadow (neutral highlighter), UD 24//7 Stash Eye Pencil (dark gold), Plushlash mascara (black)
  • Cheeks: Margin blush (dirty pink)
  • Lips: Swelter slimshine (bright coral), C-thru lipglass (nude)
  • Brushes: 266 (firm, angled brush), 249 (flat, firm brush), 239 (fluffy shadow brush), 129 (dense blush brush)
  • Substitutes: Going Bananas = Bright Sunshine; Fab & Flashy = Juiced (not a great dupe); Bold & Brazen = Twinks; Dark Edge = Brun; Swelter = Skew

Directions: Define brows using a coordinating powder shadow applied with the 266 brush. Apply Soft Ochre paint pot all over the lid as the base with the 249. Apply Going Bananas eyeshadow to inner third of the lid using the 239 brush. Follow by applying Fab & Flashy eyeshadow to the middle of the lid. Darken outer lid with Bold & Brazen eyeshadow. Apply Dark Edge eyeshadow into outer crease to deepen, using the 239. Soften harsh lines with Going Bananas eyeshadow swept above crease. Highlight brow with Ricepaper eyeshadow. Line lower lash line with UD 24/7 Stash Eye Pencil. Sweep apples of cheeks with Margin blush using the 129. Apply Swelter slimshine to lips, and then top with C-thru lipglass for color and shine.
