MAC Pink Buttercream Pearlmatte Face Powder ($30.00 for 0.42 oz.) is described as a “light silvery pink base with dark pink flowers and periwinkle leaves.” It’s a cool-toned, light-medium pink with a blue-gray cast and a soft, white shimmer-sheen finish. Chantecaille Rose Petals is warmer, less pink. Lancome Moonlight Rose is warmer. Guerlani Cruel Gardenia is less pink and warmer. NARS New Order has a similar base color but has gold shimmer and sparkle. MAC Veronica’s Blush is warm-toned. MAC Full of Joy is more lavender. MAC Unconventional is more lavender and blue-based.

Like In for a Treat, it did emphasize pores somewhat; it wasn’t the worst offender I’ve come across, but it didn’t minimize or soften them in any way (and didn’t leave them as-is, either). There is actually something about the finish that reminds me of frosting (but I can’t actually recollect eating frosty with shimmer!). Pink Buttercream could be used as a blush on very fair skin tones, as it does have more color in its base than the other Pearlmatte. On my medium complexion (NC25/NC30), it adds a little pinkness but mostly shimmer/sheen. The texture is very soft and silky, and it blends out easily on the skin. It lasted seven and a half hours on me, and after eight, there was some very faint fading.

MAC In for a Treat Pearlmatte Face Powder ($30.00 for 0.42 oz.) is described as a “champagne base with matte coral flower and mint leaves.” It’s a pale champagne beige with a barely warm-toned golden champagne shimmer-sheen. MAC Lightscapade is warmer, less shimmery. NARS Nico is more beige, warmer, less shimmery. Chanel Poudre Signee de Chanel is slightly pink in its base. NARS Albatross has a stronger golden sheen (and a whiter base color). Illamaqua Aurora is a cream product and more metallic.

If you’ve never used the Pearlmatte formula, it’s supposed to be a highlighter and a blush with a “rich texture and velvet finish.” Now, I don’t think this is going to be a blusher even on really pale complexions, but it is a highlighter. I think the finish is too shimmery with a stronger sheen/frostiness that it’s better as a highlighter than an all-over powder. If used with a very light hand and the right brush, it could be used all-over–just not as effortlessly as a true finishing powder. There was a slight emphasis of pores when I applied it to my cheeks. In for a Treat lasted seven hours well, and then after eight, there was light fading/patchiness beginning to become apparent.  It has good color payoff, and the outer white is an overspray, but the leaves and flower petal colors go all the way through the power (I chipped out a section in the middle to check).  I thought the best aspect of the powder was its texture, as it was soft, finely-milled, and buttery to the touch.  I wish it lasted longer and was more flattering on the skin.

MAC Flatter Me Pearlmatte Face Powder ($30.00 for 0.35 oz.) is described as a “golden peach base with coral hearts.” The base color is a warm peach with a soft, frosted finish (and it is reminiscent of Cream Soda in some ways). The hearts are a medium pink-coral with a subtle golden sheen. When everything is mixed together, the resulting shade is a soft, pinky-coral with a light golden sheen. It’s slightly warm-toned. MAC Legendary is just a touch pinker. MAC Immortal Flower is much, much pinker. Tarina Tarantino Feather is brighter, pinker. Guerlain Blush G is pinker and has a stronger sheen. MAC Shell Pearl is similar but a touch more muted.

I had the same problem with Flatter Me as I did Veronica’s Blush–the hearts did not want to yield color at all. I took a metal spatula to it and started scraping off flakes of it, so I could at least show the color on the skin. What you’re seeing on my skin are chunks of the product smoothed out! It seems better when you really pass the brush back and forth a few times, because the combined color is tinted pink enough that clearly there is some payoff coming from those hearts!

The texture is very soft to the touch with a finely-milled powder that does kick up some powder. On the skin and blended out, it doesn’t look powdery, and the finish is a soft shimmer-sheen so it doesn’t emphasize the skin’s texture or pores. This shade lasted eight hours well, and after nine hours, I noticed some minor fading, but it had good wear overall.   Because of the overall lightness of the color, it may not show up well on deeper skin tones; on my medium complexion, it shows up as a kiss of pink-coral. Of all the products not to sell out, this one surprised me the most–a coral face product with hearts–I still can’t believe it.

MAC Veronica’s Blush Pearlmatte Face Powder ($30.00 for 0.35 oz.) is described as a “silvery pink base with deep pink hearts.” The base color is a pale pink with a subtle silver sheen. The hearts are a darker pinker with a barely-there sheen. Together, they created a soft, pale pink with a silver shimmer-sheen finish–it’s a darker pink than the base alone. MAC Unconventional is more lavender. MAC Full of Joy is brighter and much purpler. NARS Gaiety is brighter, darker, and bluer-toned. Chanel Brompton Road is warmer. Illamasqua Katie is matte but similar in color.

The hearts are small enough that as a face product, it’s best used altogether. I also found the hearts were very, very low in color payoff. I really had to scrape the product off the top using a metal spatula to get any color payoff on my arm. There’s a definite effect from the color of the hearts on the overall color of the product, but it has a subtle impact.  MAC suggests using it as a highlighter, blush, or an eyeshadow; as an eyeshadow, the dark pink hearts are very disappointing because of how low in pigment they are.

On the skin, it applied evenly and laid down smoothly. There was just the barest emphasis of skin texture but to such a subtle degree that the overall glowy sheen added more to the complexion than it took away. Veronica’s Blush wore well for eight hours without fading or getting patchy.  The texture was very soft, smooth, and finely-milled.  For a product that could have turned out really gimmicky, I think it was well-done.  On my medium skin tone, it showed up as a slight tint of pink but the sheen was more pronounced–I would likely use it more as a highlighter than alone.  Because of its pale white base, it may turn ashy on deeper complexions.

MAC Sunday Afternoon Pearlmatte Face Powder ($28.00 for 0.42 oz.) is described as “clean bright pink, bright clean fuchsia, soft pale pink with white pearl.” The first shade is a cotton candy pink w ith blue undertones and a semi-matte finish. The middle shade is a dark pink with a subtle pearled sheen. The bottom shade is a pink-tinted white with a frosted shimmer-sheen. Together, they create a shimmery light-medium pink with subtle cool undertones. NARS New Order is cooler toned. MAC Blonde is similar in the pink tones, but not quite the same together. I feel like there are more dupes, but I couldn’t think of anything else.

This shade produces much more color on the cheeks compared to Flower Fantasy. It has the same shimmery finish, which may or may not be what you’re looking for. If you want a softer finish, use less of the bottom shade, which contributes most of the shimmer as well as lightens the overall color. I wore this shade to test out the wear, and it managed to hang on for around six and a half hours before it started to fade and look patchy.  The texture is soft and smooth without being powdery.

	It's better than the first Pearlmatte Face Powder that came out, and it balances color with sheen to be both a blush and highlighter (though if you prefer a more distinctive highlight, then you may want to use a stippling brush and a separate blush).

MAC in Lillyland Collection: Pearlmatte Eyeshadow & Powder & Coconut Ice Nail Lacquer Review, Photos, Swatches

The two prettiest-looking items in the collection are my two least favorites of the collection. Both the Pearlmatte Eyeshadow and Face Powder are lovely to look at with their floral design, but the product itself is just okay.

Pearlmatte Eyeshadow

This is basically three eyeshadows in one, and the pieces are big enough that you can get your brush into each. It consists of a lightly shimmered white, a soft yellow-green with gold shimmer (think Juxt), and a medium blue-based pink with light shimmer (think Da Bling, but blue-based). The design dusts off pretty fast — I could barely see any of the floral portions once I did swatches. The shadows themselves are decently pigmented, but they’re not ultra rich. They also felt a little powdery, which I wasn’t thrilled with. Nice design, just an okay product.

Pearlmatte Face Powder

This contains four different shades within the compact, but realistically, as a face/cheek product, you’re going to end up with a swirl of colors, not just any of the four. In particular, the orange shade is incredibly small, so good luck wearing that alone if you’re brave enough to try! Nonetheless, I did swatch the four individual shades, and then I did a swirled swatch. The individual shades are: a yellowed, shimmered gold, mostly matte/satin peachy orange, sheer, deep pink, and a neutral tan-brown with no real shimmer. Swirled together, I ended up with a rather bronzy shade — it ran a little orange and had the yellow-gold shimmer in it. I don’t know if I’d use this as an all over face powder myself, because it seems more like a bronzer based on playing around with it so far.

Coconut Ice Nail Lacquer

I’d like to know why they named this Coconut Ice. Maybe I haven’t consumed enough coconut ice in my life, but I just envisioned a lightened shade — based on the name. I’ve read the description previously, so I wasn’t misled, but the name seemed off to me. This is a brightened peachy-coral kind of shade. It’s like Seasonal Peach with a lot more pink. It has a creamy finish, and I’d say it needs two to three coats to look right. It kind of reminded of an old, old nail polish called Pink Radar, except lighter and less pink. I liked it, but I like corals, so this wasn’t much of a surprise.
