With fall just around the corner, I thought I’d share this autumnal look from the past!

I used Off the Radar pigment on inner lid, Cocomotion pigment on middle of lid, Copperized pigment on outer lid, Rule eyeshadow on inner lid, Rye eyeshadow on middle of lid, Scarab eyeshadow on outer lid and crease, Rye eyeshadow above crease, Quick Frost pigment on brow, Scarab eyeshadow on outer lower lash line, Cocomotion pigment on inner lower lash line. I wore Other Worldly blush with Taupe blush to contour. I had Thrills lipstick with Poetique lipglass on my lips.

Still experimenting with my camera, except I forgot to actually experiment. I got distracted (as per usual!), and I only ended up taking one set of photos, so I didn’t have much to choose from (read that as only one photo per angle, so there was nothing to choose from!).

You will need the following…

  • Eyes: Soft Ochre paint pot (neutral beige base), Melon pigment (peachy-pink), Going Bananas eyeshadow (yellow), Fab & Flashy eyeshadow (orange), Rule eyeshadow (orange), Passionate eyeshadow (dark hot pink), Coppering eyeshadow (reddish-orange), Femme-fi eyeshadow (highlighter), Blacktrack fluidline (black), Urban Decay Honey 24/7 Liner (gold), Plushlash mascara (black)
  • Cheeks: Other Worldly blush (bronzy-orange), Dior Amber Diamond Skin Shimmer (bronzy highlighter)
  • Lips: Fashionably Fuchsia lipstick (hot pink), Tartlette lipglass (coral)
  • Brushes: 266 (firm, angled brush), 226 (fluffy crease brush), 219 (pointed crease brush), 214 (smudge brush), 249 (flat, firm brush), 239 (fluffy shadow brush), 129 (dense blush brush)
  • Substitutes: Going Bananas = Bright Sunshine; Fab & Flashy = Goldmine + Rule; Femme-fi = Shroom; Other Worldly = bronzer; Fashionably Fuchsia = Girl About Town; Tartlette = Lychee Luxe

Directions: Define brows using a coordinating powder shadow applied with the 266 brush. Apply Soft Ochre paint pot all over the lid as the base with the 249. With the 239, apply Melon pigment with water-based mixing medium on the lower lid. On the inner lid, pack Going Bananas eyeshadow on using the 239. Apply Fab & Flashy eyeshadow to the middle portion of the lid. Apply Coppering eyeshadow lightly on outer portions of the lid. Darken crease with Passionate eyeshadow using the 226, then deepen with Rule eyeshadow with the 219. Sweep Femme-fi eyeshadow underneath the brow bone to highlight. Finish with Urban Decay Honey Liner on lower lash line, and Blacktrack fluidline on the upper lash line using the 209. Apply Plushlash mascara on lashes. Sweep apples of cheeks with Other Worldly blush using the 129, then highlight with Dior Amber Diamond Skin Shimmer with the 188. Apply Fashionably Fuchsia lipstick to lips, and then top with Tartlette lipglass for color and shine.

  • Eyes: True Chartreuse pigment (chartreuse base), Sharp eyeshadow (chartreuse), Tempting eyeshadow (bronzy brown), Dark Edge eyeshadow (matte dark brown), Next To Nothing eyeshadow (neutral highlighter), Rich Gruond fluidline (brown) Graphblack technakohl (black), Plushlash mascara (black)
  • Cheeks: Other Worldly blush (bronze)
  • Lips: Creme Cerise lipstick (dirty peach-nude), Jampacked lipglass (dark vampy berry)
  • Brushes: 266 (firm, angled brush), 249 (flat, firm brush), 239 (fluffy shadow brush), 129 (dense blush brush)
  • Substitutes: Sharp = Sour Lemon; Dark Edge = Brun; Next To Nothing = Shroom; Other Worldly = Raizin; Creme Cerise = Peachstock; Jampacked = Desire

Directions: Define brows using a coordinating powder shadow applied with the 266 brush. Apply True Chartreuse pigment all over the lid as the base with the 249. All over the lid, apply Sharp eyeshadow using the 239. Apply Tempting eyeshadow on the outer lid and lower outer crease. Darken the outer crease using Dark Edge eyeshadow and drag into crease using the 239. Sweep Next to Nothing underneath the brow bone to highlight. Finish with Graphblack technakohl on lower lash line, Rich Ground fluidline on upper lash line, and Plushlash mascara on lashes. Sweep apples of cheeks with Other Worldly using the 129. Apply Creme Cerise lipstick to lips, and then top with Jampacked lipglass for color and shine.


Mellan being clingy this morning while I did my makeup!

So, Magellan has had a heart murmur since we’ve gotten him, and it didn’t go away. Though we had an x-ray of his chest done a month or so ago, and the heart looked normal… turns out it isn’t. We talked with an orthopedic surgeon about doing hip surgery (since he has severe hip dysplasia), and before we could think about surgery, we needed to find out what exactly was wrong with his heart. A cardiologist did an echocardiogram (EKG) yesterday afternoon, and Magellan has moderaet pumonic stenosis, which basically means the blood flow on the right part of his heart is restricted.

Between the hips ($8K) and the heart ($5K), we just can’t afford to do surgery, and it seems silly to do one and not the other. He will probably have major hip problems (aka pain) by 3-4 years old, and by 4-5 years old, he has a 40% chance of his heart failing. We have decided to put him on some supplements to help his hips, but we will forego surgery at this point. Of course, we will enjoy every moment we have with him. On a positive side, there are a few exceptional dogs who live out their lives despite hip dysplasia and heart problems – just don’t know how many have done it with both.

Went to MAC PRO at The Forum Shops last night, and I was disappointed to learn that they’ve discontinued empty PRO pigment jars?! Must call other PRO shops to confirm/deny (please, please deny!). Plus, the new launches for this coming Thursday weren’t out (sometimes PRO stores have them out early), so that was disappointing. I picked up Rosy Coral PRO gloss on a whim, so I didn’t haul ass for nothin’.

Apparently, there’s a Barney’s at The Palazzo, so I’ll probably check that out today or tomorrow.
Also, I think I’m going to see Sigfried & Roy’s Secret Garden (I think that’s the name…) today/tomorrow, too. I know we’re hittin’ up the Rio buffet today, though. (My whole reason to go to Vegas was for the buffets… I’m such a sucker for a good buffet!) My mom forgot her hairspray — do I see a trip to Sephora (right next door, at Planet Hollywood) in the future?! Hmm…

I used Museum Bronze pigment (LE) on lid, Ricepaper eyeshadow on inner lid, Goldmine eyeshadow on middle of lid, Carbon (LIGHTLY!) on outer lid, Espresso eyeshadow on outer crease, Copperbeam pigment (LE) on outer crease, Ricepaper eyeshadow on brow to highlight, Graphblack technakohl on upper lash line (then smudged), UD Stash 24/7 liner on lower lash line, and Plushlash mascara on lashes. I had Margin blush with Other Worldly blush (LE) on cheeks. I wore Tiger Tiger lipstick (LE) and Rosy Coral (PRO) pro gloss on my lips.
