MAC Center of the Universe Mineralize Skinfinish

MAC Center of the Universe Mineralize Skinfinish ($29.00 for 0.24 oz.) is described as a “coral with gold shimmer.” There is absolutely nothing about this that says coral… nothing even suggests it exists in the product at all! Where’s the pink? the red? Even the online “swatch” on MAC’s website shows the same pattern and coloring that my product actually has (thought maybe my veining was causing the problem). It’s a mix of metallic gold, coppery bronze, and orange, which, when swirled together, creates a medium-dark tan brown with gold shimmer. It’s very similar to the lighter side of MAC A Little Bit of Sunshine–swirled, this shade is a bit darker, because half of it has a darker brown color. MAC Sun & Moon is a little darker, less orange. MAC My Paradise looks somewhat similar on, but it can look redder. MAC Glorify is darker, more bronze. Estee Lauder Topaz Chameleon is much darker, browner. MAC Golden Lariat is similar, slightly more golden.

MAC Redhead Mineralize Skinfinish

MAC Redhead Mineralize Skinfinish ($28.00 for 0.32 oz.) is described as a “gold to salon pink degrade,” and it’s a limited edition blush/highlighter from MAC’s upcoming Naturally collection. It is a repromote, though, so if you’re an avid mineralize skinfinish collector, you should check your stash first. Like Blonde, there are four (mostly) distinct stripes of color: gilded champagne beige, deepened champagne beige, peachy champagne, and rosy bronze.

MAC Porcelain Pink Mineralize Skinfinish Swatches, Photos, Reviews

MAC Porcelain Pink Mineralize Skinfinish ($28.00 for 0.35 oz.*) is described as a “soft pinky coral with gold veining.” It is limited edition, but it has previously launched. It is part of the MAC Fall Colour Collection, which debuts in North America on September 29th, 2011 and rolls out internationally in October. Mineralize Skinfinishes are more akin to highlighters than anything else, but depending on the shade of the product and your skin tone, it may be used as a bronzer, blush, or highlighter. Though Porcelain Pink does have a touch of color, it looks like a highlighter on me.

MAC Semi-Precious Crystal Pink Mineralize Skinfinish

MAC Feeling Flush Mineralize Skinfinish ($28.00 for 0.22 oz.) is described as a “pink champagne base with inner circle of pink, mid-tone green, and bronze.” When I swirled the center splotch together, I ended up with a muted, slightly rosy tan with subtle gold shimmer. The outer edge is a pinked champagne. On my skin tone (NC25/NC30), it’s mostly sheen, but it does lighten a bit. It’s a cooler-toned highlight, which makes it interesting, since a lot of highlighters can be warmer. Still really bummed (and a little puzzled) over the major reduction in product here–past MSFs have been 0.33 oz., while this is only 0.22 oz.
