As promised, I got un-lazy and actually did some REAL makeup. After using the Blue Zone eyeshadow duo, I doubt I’ll be getting any more of the duos. You will need [...]]]> As promised, I got un-lazy and actually did some REAL makeup. After using the Blue Zone eyeshadow duo, I doubt I’ll be getting any more of the duos. I’m not particularly in love with this one – I think I’d be better off branching off and finding a lavender from another brand. :(

You will need the following…

  • Eyes: Lark About pigment (white duochrome), Blue Zone 2 Eyeshadow Duo (light lavender/dark periwinkle), Parfait Amour eyeshadow (purple), Rite of Spring eyeshadow (purple-toned highlighter), Rave pearlglide liner (purple), Chanel Exceptionnel Mascara (black)
  • Cheeks: Petalpoint blush (soft peachy pink)
  • Lips: Hot Gossip lipstick (cool, bright pink), Crystal Rose lipglass (pink with fuchsia-purple shimmer)
  • Brushes: 266 (firm, angled brush), 249 (flat, firm brush), 239 (fluffy shadow brush), 129 (dense blush brush)
  • Substitutes: Lark About = Frozen White; Blue Zone = none for lighter color; Parfait Amour for darker (not a great dupe!); Rite of Spring = Pink Opal; Petalpoint = Breezy; Crystal Rose = Flashmode

Directions: Define brows using a coordinating powder shadow applied with the 266 brush. Apply Lark About pigment all over the lid as the base with the 249. On the inner-to-middle lid, apply Blue Zone duo (light side) using the 239. Apply Parfait Amour to the outer-middle lid. Darken the outer lid using Blue Zone duo (dark side) and drag into crease using the 239. Sweep Rite of Spring eyeshadow underneath the brow bone to highlight. Finish with Rave pearlglide liner on lower lash line, and Chanel Excetionnel mascara on lashes. Sweep apples of cheeks with Petalpoint blush using the 129. Apply Hot Gossip lipstick to lips, and then top with Crystal Rose lipglass for color and shine.

I bought Mellan doggy socks with rubber grips, because he slips a lot in the kitchen and sometimes his left or right hip will pop out from that in addition to all the normal reasons. Unfortunately, I don’t think he cares for them!

Chilly look for a chilly day! For the past few days, it has definitely felt like fall! It’s really weird, because it was hot and summery like usual, then BAM! cool, windy days.   • Eyes: Lark About pigment (silvery-purple white), Vex eyeshadow (gray-purple duochrome), Cumulus eyeshadow (grayish-blue), Silver Ring eyeshadow (dark silver), Femme-fi eyeshadow (neutral highlighter), Mystery kohl power (black-teal), Chanel Exceptionnel mascara (black)
  • Cheeks: Blooming blush (soft pink)
  • Lips: Style It Up lipstick (nude), Cult Fave lipglass (pink)
  • Brushes: 266 (firm, angled brush), 249 (flat, firm brush), 239 (fluffy shadow brush), 129 (dense blush brush)
  • Substitutes: Lark About = Frozen White; Cumulus = Prussian; Femme-fi = Shroom; Mystery = Tealo; Blooming = Well Dressed; Style It Up = Cherish; Cult Fave = Cultured

Directions: Define brows using a coordinating powder shadow applied with the 266 brush. Apply Lark About pigment all over the lid as the base with the 249. On the inner lid, apply Vex eyeshadow using the 239. Apply Cumulus to the middle of the lid, overlaying it with Vex. Darken the outer lid using Silver Ring eyeshadow and drag into crease using the 239. Sweep Femme-fi eyeshadow underneath the brow bone to highlight. Finish with Mystery kohl power on lower lash line smudged with Lark About pigment using the 219 brush, and Chanel Exceptionnel mascara on lashes. Sweep apples of cheeks with Blooming blush using the 129. Apply Style It Up lipstick to lips, and then top with Cult Fave lipglass for color and shine.

Thought I’d try a look that incorporates blue but in a subtler way for those who are a little afraid of going all-out in the blue department. It’s my Dad’s birthday (Happy 53rd!), so I’ve got some surprises in store for him (shh, he occasionally happens upon the blog, so I can’t spill the details!).  It’s going to be a wickedly warm weekend here in northern California, so I’m gearing up to have some outdoor fun.  What about you guys?  What do you have in store for tonight and the weekend?

I used Lark About pigment (LE) on lid, Vex eyeshadow on inner lid, Ricepaper eyeshadow on middle of lid, Nylon eyeshadow on outer lid, Soft Brown eyeshadow in outer crease, Satin Taupe eyeshadow on outer crease, Freshwater eyeshadow (very lightly) in outer crease, Ricepaper eyeshadow above crease and on brow, Feline kohl power (LE) on lower lash line, Blue Herizon liquidlast liner on upper lash line, and Kanebo 38+ mascara on lashes. I had Other Worldly blush (LE) on cheeks. I wore Rockocco lipstick (LE) with Cult Fave lipglass (LE) and Apex 3D glass (LE) on my lips.

** These are recommendations for dupes based on permanent colors available — may not necessarily be identical; they are the closest I can think of!

I used Lark About pigment (LE) on inner lid, Mutiny pigment (LE) on middle of lid, Bell Bottom Blue pigment (LE) on outer lid, Rite of Spring eyeshadow (LE) on inner lid, Juxt eyeshadow on middle of lid, Newly Minted eyeshadow on middle of lid, Freshwater eyeshadow on outer lid and crease, Juxt eyeshadow above crease, Phloof! eyeshadow on brow, Mutiny pigment (LE) on lower lash line, Graphblack technakohl on lower lash line, Blacktrack fluidline on upper lash line, and Plushlash mascara on lashes. I had Other Worldly blush (LE) on cheeks with Dior Amber Diamond Skin Shimmer on cheeks. I wore Fun Fun lipstick (LE) with Comet Blue dazzleglass (LE) and Ms. Fizz dazzleglass (LE).

The cool duochrome nature of Lark About & Stars ‘N Rockets is SO awesome, but it didn’t capture whatsoever in the photos.
