More neutral MAC Eyeshadows! There will be one more set of neutrals, and then I only have the grays/blacks after that.
Grain is a soft, warm beige with a satin finish. It’s like a lighter version of MAC Arena. Orb is a soft, pink-peach with a satin finish. It is pinker than Urban Decay Virgin. It is similar to Inglot #397, but it has a softer look and therefore looks darker/more pigmented. Naked Lunch is a warm, peach-beige with a frost finish. Chanel Emerveille is similar in color. Hush is a peach-pink with a subtle iridescence and frost finish. Jest is a light-medium peach with a frost finish. theBalm Luscious Lani is a touch lighter. Say Yeah is an apricot pink with a golden shimmer-sheen. It has a veluxe pearl finish, and it was a limited edition shade. Ricepaper is a soft, warm yellow champagne with a frost finish. Inglot #393 is the closest but it has a more reflective finish. Retrospeck is a paled gold with a lustre finish. It has a slightly gritty texture. Milani Beach Sand is slightly similar. Femme-fi is a warm, yellow-toned white with a veluxe pearl finish. theBalm Devilish Danielle is similar, slightly more reflective.
Hush has sheerer color than one would expct, while Retrospeck has glitter in it, so it has a grittier texture and is prone to fall out. The other shades were true-to-color with good color payoff and smooth textures overall.
Like I mentioned last time, MAC has a solid range of neutrals--lots of variations on beige, nude, and peach--that are worth checking out.

Though I will most certainly embed my video tutorials on the blog, if you’re ever looking for a video tutorial for a recent look, it just may already be up on YouTube–but I haven’t posted it here yet. Incentive to subscribe! Check YouTube! Hurrah! This video is for asimple purple look I did last week.
Here is a really quick look I did the other day before I went to have dinner with my family (my grandma is visiting!) I’m testing out NARS’ Multiple Tint in Cadaques right now, so yes I will review it, just give me some time to test out the wear!
For eyes, start by applying Smudgeproof as your eyeshadow base all over the eye area with the 249. Using the 239, apply Seedy Pearl eyeshadow all over the lower lid. Lightly blend Fig. 1 eyeshadow in the outer crease and very outer edge of the lid with the 226. Blend Hush eyeshadow with the crease shade and highlight the brow bone. Bring everything together by applying #4L liner on the lower lash line. Finish by sweeping lashes with Plushlash mascara.
For cheeks, apply Cadaques blush on the apples of the cheeks and smooth with fingertips.
For lips, apply Sweetie lipstick first, and then layer Nymphette lipglass for a complementing lip.
Here’s a video tutorial for the look I did yesterday! As always, I hope you find something useful out of it, even if it is my poorly pronounced French. (Which is really sad, and would kill my French teacher, since I took French for five years–much to my dismay, I am not very good at learning new languages!)
For eyes, start by applying Smudgeproof as your eyeshadow base all over the eye area with the 249. Using the 239, apply Digit eyeshadow on the inner third of the lid and pull upwards along the inner crease. Lightly blend #75 eyeshadow on the outer two-thirds of the lid with the 239. Pat Stars ‘n Rockets eyeshadow on the middle third of the lid, overlapping Digit and #75. Next, apply Atlantic Blue eyeshadow into the crease with the 226, lightly blending onto the outer lid. Blend Digit eyeshadow with the crease shade and then highlight the brow bone with Hush eyeshadow. Bring everything together by applying Deviant liner on the lower lash line, then pat Digit eyeshadow beneath the liner and Stars ‘n Rockets eyeshadow on top of the liner. Finish by sweeping lashes with Plushlash mascara.
For cheeks, apply Fresh blush on the apples of the cheeks and sweep upwards towards the temple with the 116.
For lips, apply Viva Glam Gaga lipstick first, and then layer Luminary lustreglass for a complementing lip.
Just decided to have a little fun with Stila’s new glitter-tastic palette last night Didn’t have too much fall out — definitely apply less than you think you need, and then build up if you need to. (I tried two techniques – one on each eye; nearly no fall out on the latter technique!) It definitely has a bit of a wet look to it – very shimmering – but not so easy to capture in a still photo.
For eyes, start by applying Soft Ochre paint pot as your eyeshadow base all over the lid with the 249. With the 249, apply Blacktrack fluidline all over the lid portion. Using the 239, apply Black Diamond eyeshadow on the eyelid. Next, apply Rose Quartz eyeshadow in the crease and slightly above with the 239. With the 239, lightly apply Stars ‘n Rockets eyeshadow into the crease to add a pop of color. Lightly tap and brush Beautiful Iris eyeshadow directly above the crease to soften. To finish the eyeshadow look, sweep Hush eyeshadow as a highlighter on the brow bone. Bring everything together by applying Lust eyeliner on the lower lash line, and Beautiful Iris eyeshadow lightly patted below the lower lash line with the 219 brush. Finish by sweeping lashes with Exceptionnel mascara.
For cheeks, apply Unrequited blush to the apples of the cheeks and sweep upwards towards the temple with the 116.
For lips, apply BE 109 lipstick first, and then layer Dubai Gloss for a complementing lip.
