Look: Warmed-up, Smoked-out Greens

I was in a green mood, so I opted to go for yellow-based greens with a smoky edge!

You will need the following…

• Eyes: MAC Soft Ochre Paint Pot (neutral beige base), MAC Golden Olive Pigment (olive green), MAC Goldmine Eyeshadow (true gold), MAC Juxt Eyeshadow (light yellow-green), MAC Humid Eyeshadow (forest green), MAC Femme-Noir Eyeshadow (matte dark green), MAC Ricepaper Eyeshadow (matte dark green), neutral highlighter), Make Up For Ever #17L Aqua Eye Liner (light green), MAC Feline Kohl Power (black), MAC Plushlash Mascara (black)
• Face: Korres Tinted Moisturizer (#2)
• Cheeks: Dolce & Gabbana Nude Blush (soft beige-pink)
• Lips: MAC Fresh Salmon Lipstick (pinky coral), MAC Gold Dust Lipglass (sheer orange-gold)
• Brushes: 226 (fluffy crease brush), 219 (pointed crease brush), 249 (flat, firm brush), 239 (fluffy shadow brush), 116 (dense blush brush)
• Substitutes:  Femme Noir = Humid + Carbon; Fresh Salmon = See Sheer (lightly); Feline = Graphblack; Gold Dust = Instant Gold

For eyes, start by applying Soft Ochre paint pot as your eyeshadow base all over the eye area with the 249. Next, apply a secondary base of Golden Olive pigment on the lid only with water-based mixing medium. Using the 239, apply Goldmine eyeshadow on the inner third of the eyelid. Next, apply Juxt eyeshadow on the middle third of the eyelid and lightly blend with the inner corner. Darken the outer third of the lid with Humid eyeshadow with the 239, gently brushing it into the lower crease. Apply Femme Noir eyeshadow into the outer crease with the 226. Lightly tap and brush Nylon eyeshadow directly above the crease to soften. To finish the eyeshadow look, sweep Ricepaper eyeshadow as a highlighter on the brow bone. Bring everything together by applying #20L eyeliner on the lower lash line and sweeping lashes with Plushlash mascara.

For cheeks, apply Nude blush to the apples of the cheeks and sweep upwards towards the temple with the 116.

For lips, apply Fresh Salmon lipstick first, and then layer Gold Dust lipglass for a complementing lip.

Pop-up Color with Teal

I was totally going to do a neutral look, but I was wearing a teal shirt… so one thing led to another and I ended up going for subtle color. Is it really only Tuesday? I feel like it should be Friday already! No, seriously…

You will need the following…

• Eyes: MAC Soft Ochre Paint Pot (neutral beige base), MAC Indianwood Paint Pot (dark gold), MAC Nylon Eyeshadow (white-gold), MAC Patina Eyeshadow (antique gold), MAC Bottle Green Eyeshadow (matte blue-green), MAC Satin Taupe Eyeshadow (dark brown), MAC Ricepaper Eyeshadow (neutral highlighter), Make Up For Ever #20L Aqua Eye Liner (forest green), MAC Plushlash Mascara (black)
• Face: Korres Tinted Moisturizer (#2)
• Cheeks: Benefit Sugarbomb (soft beige-pink)
• Lips: Guerlain Gardenia Rouge G Lipstick (pink nude), MAC Gold Dust Lipglass (sheer orange-gold)
• Brushes: 226 (fluffy crease brush), 219 (pointed crease brush), 249 (flat, firm brush), 239 (fluffy shadow brush), 116 (dense blush brush)
• Substitutes: N/A

Lightly tap and brush Nylon eyeshadow directly above the crease to soften. To finish the eyeshadow look, sweep Ricepaper eyeshadow as a highlighter on the brow bone. Bring everything together by applying #20L eyeliner on the lower lash line and sweeping lashes with Plushlash mascara.

For cheeks, apply Sugarbomb blush to the apples of the cheeks and sweep upwards towards the temple with the 116.

For lips, apply Gardenia lipstick first, and then layer Gold Dust lipglass for a complementing lip.

Bright Makeup: Let’s Go to the Tropics with Yellow, Green, & Blue

I was getting a little tired of pink and purple, so I had to go with something totally different but still fun! Happy Friday all!

Pigment (light gold-green), MAC Going Bananas Eyeshadow (sunny yellow), MAC Bio Green Eyeshadow (grassy green), MAC Shimmermoss Eyeshadow (teal), MAC Freshwater Eyeshadow (blue), MAC Electric Eel Eyeshadow (bright blue), MAC Nylon Eyeshadow (white-gold highlighter), Make Up For Ever 7L Aqua Eyes Liner (electric blue), MAC Plushlash Mascara (black)
• Face: Korres Tinted Moisturizer (#2)
• Cheeks: Benefit Sugarbomb (peachy pink)
• Lips: MAC Victorian Lipstick (pinky coral), MAC Gold Dust Lipglass (sheer orange gold)

• Substitutes: Going Bananas = Bright Sunshine; Victorian = See Sheer; Gold Dust = Instant Gold

With the 239 and water-based mixing medium (or water), apply Stacked 2! pigment (light gold-green) all over the lid area. Using the 239, apply Going Bananas eyeshadow on the inner third of the eyelid. Next, apply Bio Green eyeshadow on the middle third of the eyelid and lightly blend with the inner corner. Lightly layer Shimmermoss eyeshadow on the middle-to-outer portion of the eyelid. Darken the outer third of the lid with Freshwater eyeshadow with the 239, gently brushing it into the lower crease. Lightly blend Electric Eel eyeshadow, with the 226, on the outer corner and lid. Lightly tap and brush Going Bananas eyeshadow directly above the crease to soften. To finish the eyeshadow look, sweep Nylon eyeshadow as a highlighter on the brow bone. Bring everything together by applying 7L eyeliner on the lower lash line and Going Bananas eyeshadow lightly patted below the lower lash line with the 219 brush. Finish by sweeping lashes with Plushlash mascara.

For cheeks, apply Sugarbomb blush to the apples of the cheeks and sweep upwards towards the temple with the 116.

For lips, apply Victorian lipstick first, and then layer Gold Dust lipglass for a complementing lip.

MAC Spring Colour Forecast: Lipglasses Reviews, Photos, Swatches (Part 2)

Part 2 of the lipglasses…  From these, my favorites were Purple Rage.  What are your favorites?

Spring Colour 3 Forecast — Lipglasses

• Purple Rage is a red raspberry with golden shimmer–it’s more red than raspberry, but still not quite red. This is one of the more opaque glosses, and it may have a tendency to bleed when applied alone.
• Lavender Wind is a semi-sheer, kind of milky-creamy pink base with fuchsia and violet shimmer. I feel like I’ve seen this kind of shade from MAC a few times in the past year. It was like a more violet-shimmered Luminary Lustreglass (which I do love, but I think Luminary is better).

Spring Colour 4 Forecast — Lipglasses

• Almondine is a surprisingly opaque white-gold with gold shimmer. On me, this is not exactly a shade to wear alone. This is a color I’d layer over a lipstick to lighten or add more shimmer. Looks kind of like shimmery corpse lips on me when worn alone, unfortunately! I love the pearly look of it, though.
• Gold Dust is a light peachy-orange color base with gold and orange shimmer. This gloss applies pretty sheer on me, just giving me a little bit of color, but mostly I see golden, orange, and peach shimmer.
