MAC Ablaze Nail Lacquer

MAC Ablaze Nail Lacquer ($16.00 for 0.34 fl. oz.) is described as a “bright orange cream.” It’s a brightened, medium-dark orange-red with a cream finish. I would describe it as more red than orange, but it’s not just a warm red. MAC Kid Orange is very similar. NARS Lal Mirchi is more orange. MAC Morange is lighter and more orange. Essie Meet Me at Sunset is redder. Essie Braziliant is similar but has shimmer.

MAC Ablaze Lip Pencil ($15.00 for 0.05 oz.) is described as a “bright apricot.” More like a medium-dark orange with red undertones and a matte finish–can’t say I’ve seen an apricot quite this color before! MAC Temperature Rising is brighter, more orange. MAC Entertain Me is more orange. MAC Lasting Sensation is lighter–the difference is more apparent when worn. MAC What a Blast is more orange. MAC Redd is redder, slightly darker. MAC Throw Me a Line is a bit redder.

MAC Seductive Intent is slightly lighter and pinker. MAC Strong Woman is darker, purpler. MAC Violetta has a light shimmer but is otherwise a worthy dupe to consider.

Pigmentation wasn’t a problem with most of the shades, but I found several of them to be on the streakier side with some more readily covered with a thicker second coat. There were also a handful of shades that were lovely to apply!
